are there any kits that come with decent caps installed?,mine keep frying,chinese kits tho.

Hi Paul, Most of the OLED display modules do have an on-board 3V3 LDO regulator, but they have a maximum voltage rating of around 6V. I suspect the regulator and OLED display will have been damaged.

a cap fried 470pf on my atu-100,first i noticed was the burnt smell and no display,i took it apart,on testing the 7805 was outputting 12v,,would the overvoltage have killed the oled?,or have they

Hi Paul, The component values should be on the silkscreen, not the component numbers, but you can cross reference them with the schematic. 73, Dave

can someone tell/show me what torroid coils are what on the pcb?,mine has no markings for the coil designations,same on the pics on the attatched.i see them on the schematic but not on my pcb or the

i thought my original kit had what wire lengths to cut on the paperwork that came with it?,lost it long ago tho just building a second unit as my first one had the 7805 go sc killing the pic+oled.

its the length for precutting the wires to wind each torroid i need not the turns etc.

From my kit: L1 4mm air core 3 turns .05 uH L2 6mm air core 4 turns .1 uH L3 6mm air core 7 turns .22 uH L4 T-68-2 core 8 turns .45 uH L5 T-68-2 core 13 turns 1 uH L6 Two T-68-2 cores 13 turns

if i remember i had the cutting lengths for each torroid,so the wire was ok for each one?.

has anyone a pdf of the coil winding data,wire lengths turns etc?.i had it on the paperwork that came included but since lost it.

well it seems the cap tookout the 7805 and alsop nuked the oled,i expect the pic is toast too.

my atu-100 display quit,the tunnwer seemed to still operate tho,i pulled it apart thinking it was just the oled was dead,upon investigation there was a 470pf cap fried,also i tried a new oled,no joy
