Inductors
After winding the coils and toroids they all came up short in inductance by about 5 to10% on my Peak LCR meter. Should I use them as is or adjust the number of windings?

Re: Inductors
Norm, I noticed this on everyone I built so far.
Started adding a turn to each one and than they were a bit over.
Didn't notice any difference either way.
Sorry for getting back so late.

Aluminum box
Does anyone have a source for the box that most of the sellers of finished tuners use?

Re: New kit owner here with question about T1, T2
You should start each winding at the same end of the binocular core. I've seen this mentioned in the instructions for the KD1JV QRP wattmeter, which also uses a binocular core. If you look at the

Re: Aluminum box
Not an answer to your question but I went to the dollar store, picked up a
festive red plaid tin box with a white ribbon on the lid, can't wait for
folks to ask why I have wires attached to my candy

Thanks for the reply.
So if I understand you correctly, yes, wound in opposite directions then.

Re: New kit owner here with question about T1, T2
Agreed. Opposite direction. I've also checked the Norcal QRP wattmenter instructions, and they also specify opposite directions.

Re: New kit owner here with question about T1, T2
Both sides should to have the same direction. That is meaning the wire entry to hole of the core should be on the same core side. That is the direction. Left rotation of winding or right rotation does

David,
Respectfully, "Left rotation of winding or right rotation does not matter.
Clockwise or anticlockwise matter.", you just contradicted yourself.

Re: New kit owner here with question about T1, T2
Hi, John.
Get imagine you winding wire on a rod. You have 4 cases - left to right, right to left, clockwise, anticlockwise.
Only clockwise direction matters to phasing.
Now better ?

Re: New kit owner here with question about T1, T2
The clockwise and anti-clockwise would refer to looking at the end of the rod, and the left and right would refer to looking at the side of the rod?

Re: New kit owner here with question about T1, T2
David,
Much, thanks.
Another question came to mind, I see the primary of T1&2 is a single one
pass conductor, is the AWG of this wire important or just use what fits in
the PCB holes?
Waiting for my

Re: Aluminum box
I've done some searching, and here's all I've found.
Seems that the dimensions for the normal aluminum extruded box are 140mm length x 88mm width x 38mm height.
The only source I've found on eBay are
