Hi,
It is mandatory to use BAT41 or 1N5711. You can also check the two 50 ohm resistors ... in general all the components that make up the tandem match, including the resistive divider.
Check with a multimeter if there is a correct FWD voltage; if so, the controller may be defective.

I tested the diodes, and they seem to work ok, I would change them anyway but don¡¯t have any appropriate low-drop Shottky (I suppose 1N4148 isn¡¯t an option here?).
Is there anything else I should check?
