If you are running 2 instances ...
When running 2 instance of APRSIS32, you MUST make sure there are 2 XML files (one for each instance).? In order to do that, you must have 2 "working directories (folders)".
If you don't, the XML will contain the contents used by the last instance you close (it overwrites the XML on close.
Easiest way is to have 2 APRSIS32 folder.? In my example, I will use: ??? APRSIS32????????=> APRSIS32.exe, OSMTiles map folder, and APRSIS32.xml
??? APRSIS32_1????=> shortcut to ..\APRSIS32\APRSIS32.exe, and the second APRSIS32.xml
Example: ??? C:\APRS\APRSIS32 ??????????? APRSIS32.exe ????????????OSMTiles ????????????APRSIS32.xml
??? C:\APRS\APRSIS32_1 ??????? shortcut with settings of:
??????????? Target ?????? C:\APRS\APRSIS32\APRSIS32 ??????????? Start In:???? C:\APRS\APRSIS32_1
??????? APRSIS32.xml??????? => key settings: ????????????<OSM.Path>C:/APRS/APRSIS32/OSMTiles/</OSM.Path> ????????????<Path>.C:/APRS/APRSIS32/OSMTiles/</Path>
??????????? This allows only 1 copy of map tiles and 1 copy of APRSIS32.exe (easier to keep up to date). You could move the map tiles out a folder (as I typically do).? Then the structure? would look like this: ??? C:\APRS\APRSIS32
??? C:\APRS\APRSIS32_1
??? C:\APRS\ OSMTiles??????????????? The XML files (both) would have to be altered to point here

Burt,
What you are telling us is that you have two instances of APRSISCE/32 running with different configurations.?
Your screen sizes are different causing different layouts to be used, and it sounds like you may be using different maps, or as previously suggested, you may just have the opacity turned waaaay down on the laptop making your maps invisible. ?
Hard to say without seeing exactly what you are seeing. ?
You can set up two machines identically, with one looking at Miami and drag the map away on the other one to look at Los Angeles. Both are “set up identically”, but the maps will look drastically different, showing different information.?
You have changed the viewing parameters on one machine to make them different from the other machine, hence the displays looking different even if they are showing the same physical?location.?

I have a laptop and desktop sitting side by side both running APRSISCE.? Both are configured the same. You would think both computers would show the same.? NO. Laptop has a white screen with a full length scroller on the left side of screen.? Map does not have any relief nor roads shown.? Objects (call signs, house, derrick, car, etc) are shown on both. Desktop has relief and roads shown with a small scroller in the upper left corner of the screen with only 6 lines? scrolling at a time. Any ideas? Burt AF5AA

Thanks Ben for the info.
Stretching the screen worked for the desktop in getting the scroller enlarged.
However, clicking on the left and right arrors did nothing for getting the correct screen on the laptop.
I had already done the arror bit.? That is how I managed to get the white screen.? I had a dark grey with just my position on it.
Still looking for a solution.

Stretch the screen horizontally and at some point the scroller will become full height. Pess the right arrow button repeatedly and the map details will get darker. At each setting you get one with grid squares
and one without them.

Re: multi-track screen size & zoom recall
I think that is it, but it isn't clear what these do.
I'm guessing?
Percent (save?)
Size? (save?)
Zoom? (save?)
?
And I don't have a clue what Zoom None does.
I tried looking in the website, but was unable to find anything related to these.? It could be there, but I couldn't find it.
?
So my screens will be better now.? Thanks.

The first one you did may not have been Flashing but had another
notification-type Mic-E status.? You'll notice that some status do
"New Flash" where others may only do "New".
They don't time out, but if a different Mic-E status is received,
it will change to the most recent one.? This happens with some
regularity with Emergency Mic-E status on a full feed typically
caused by corrupted Mic-E packets being gated to the APRS-IS.

I have similar issue but not for location ME, but for
one specific callsign. ?I get a Follow screen on his
callsign and I get messages that he transmitted Priority
status messages. ?I have looked through the menus and
can’t find anything associated with his callsign.?

Can someone please tell me how to turn off the
pop up screen on my own location that comes up
every 30 minutes.?
It’s acting like I am following myself, but I’m
sorry I already know where I am ?
Thanks

Thank you Lynn,
Yes I had seen previously the Mic-E Notifications for Priority was checked so I expected the messages but didn’t realize the Follow screen was triggered from that as well. ?It is not so much a nuisance as it was just a mystery why the follow screen also
popped. ?Thanks for the link also; that was useful.?

In that case, look at Configure / Mic-E Notifications / Priority.?? I'm guessing that station is transmitting Priority and you have it enabled to bring up a New MultiTrack when received (which is the default behavior).?? You can also read:
