Re: FTM-500 - Transmit from APRSIS32?
开云体育The Yaesu line if radios will only out put Aprs. There is no access to the internal tnc. A work around is to have an external tnc attached on the data port and use that. This is what I'm doing with my home station. Aprsis32> TT4> FTM-400. The
TT4 is locked in kiss and does the digipeating for the station. Aprsis32 handles gate traffic in and out. The 400s internal tnc is still on and still recieves packets and can transmit too.?

If I recall correctly Yeasu doesn't allow access to the TNC for transmit from APRSISCE. Adam -------- Original Message -------- On 2/13/25 7:08 PM, Matt L via groups.io wrote:

FTM-500 - Transmit from APRSIS32?
Been experimenting with APRSIS32 and my FTM-500, mixed results. Using the standard Yaesu cable SCU-56.
- I can get data from the transceiver into APRSIS32. That is, when I configure and enable a port for the FTM-500, and run APRS on the radio, the APRS traffic is streamed into APRSIS32
- I cannot seem to transmit via RF from APRSIS32 to the FTM-500. The packets fall onto the floor as they say.
- Similar when I connect the FTM-500 to my PC and use Processing (processing.org) to open up a serial connection - I can stream data in but not transmit. This doesn't surprise me too much as I suspect that the write handshake is not being handled correctly by the Processing Serial object, but I need to investigate this more. Also I assume but need to verify that the oddball way that the FTM-500 formats APRS messages is involved as well.
?
Fairly sure that I'm formatting packets correctly from APRSIS32. Not looking for deep dive help necessarily, but curious if others know whether this is possible (and/or with earlier radios in the FTM family).

Yes, I agree the most recent version is testhost.apk. 73, Lee K5DAT

Most likely the testhost.apk? that is the one that I and an unknown number of other people are currently running. ---- 73s Adam Mahnke KC2ANT

Re: Open Source
This is amazing news. For informational purposes only, APRSISDR became APRSISMO, and the Testhost link is the Dev Version of APRSISMO and is the most recent version of that.? Lynn was working toward a cross platform mobile version, I know it works on Android, but I'm not sure about others.? ---- 73s Adam Mahnke KC2ANT

Paul,
?
I am speechless - thank you so much for choosing to host your father's source code on the APRS Foundation's GitHub page.?
?
Your father was one of the finest people I have ever met, and I'm glad to have spent the time with him that I did. I learned more about APRS from him than anyone else, and I learned so much about looking at things from another perspective that I will never forget.
?
Plus - I am so happy to have finally met you! You're a chip off the old block! And I mean that in the most sincere way that I can express.

For anyone looking for discrete links to each of the repositories, they are as follows:

And to everyone who's had the wonderful experience of using Lynn's contributions to ham radio - I hope you continue to enjoy using them as much as I do.

Best Regards and 73,

Re: Open Source
I have not?uploaded a collection of 6 additional folders of source code.? I am not sure if what I have uploaded is the correct source code.? If someone looks and thinks that what is uploaded is incorrect, let me know, and I can look further into uploading more source code. Open Source
I have just opensourced?the following software: APRSISCE (APRSIS32) APRSISMO APRSISDR My father's wishes were to do this upon his passing.? He did not want any of his software to go commercial use, so I have added a GPL license to the source code.? I have published on the APRS Foundation github which will ensure a very long life to the administration of the access to the source code.? I plan to continue to act as keeper of the source code, so please reach out to me if you are wanting to work on the software, but it is here for you to work on in keeping with the license.
