Re: Won’t transmit
John, I could be wrong, but if you have PTT enabled by CAT, then you don't need a com port. Vice versa, if you have PTT enabled by a com port, then don't select CAT. And you might double-check the audio settings. I'm not at all familiar with the FT-991A, but they don't look right to me. 开云体育If you bring up and enable the Transmit Trace Log in APRSIS32, and then hit the Transmit menu option, what does it show? You might also want to read: Lynn (D) - KJ4ERJ - Author of APRSISCE

Are all the applications on the same computer? If so, use IP address 127.0.0.1. Patrick (N3TSZ)

Re: Favorite Weather Station
开云体育I have a Davis Vantage Vue connected to my PC running Cumulus. Cumulus provides the wxnow.txt file to generate an object. The display stays in the ham shack and also has a data logger that has a usb serial connection. That's what Cumulus talks
to. You have to have the display on the power supply when connected to the computer as the data logger will eat the batteries in a short time. I also have a second display for the rest of the house with no logger. I don't think there's any limit to the number
of displays when they are all listening to the same station.?
I have a cwop ID and was sending the weather data to them via direct connection but noticed some time discrepancies between it and what was going over aprs. I have since turned the direct connection off and only supply via IS or RF. Then there
is no problems being marked. Cumulus will also let you upload to a bunch of different sites too. I send to Windy, Weatherunderground, and I think a couple others.?
Just search for KB3KBR-WX and you'll see it.?

Subject: [APRSISCE] Favorite Weather Station
Looking to get into the weather reporting world and am looking for something that will tie to APRSIS32, perhaps another online reporting format to benefit my local (Rural) area by allowing information to go to the NWS, as well as hopefully have a display
that I can put somewhere else in the house that's not near my ham shack for a local display.?
Figured I'd ask what everyone's favorite weather stations were for a place to start.? KC2ANT-2 is currently set up as a Fill in W1-1 digi, and an iGate and I'm considering adding weather to this instance, or perhaps just setting up a second IS only instance for the weather station, haven't made that decision yet.? Any guidance, favorite hardware recommendations, or reference material would be greatly appreciated. 73 Adam KC2ANT |

Re: Numbers along MultiTrack?
I forgot to mention that I hope I enlightened John and Mike about using nicknames to change labels to tactical call signs and add shrieks to allow filtering out everything except event icons.? I? always set up nicknames based on the roster ahead of the event and then tweak them for SSIDs the morning of the event as they show up.? That way, I have nothing but event information displayed with everyone identified by tactical call signs.? I realized they weren't taking advantage of that at the Command Post, so I think I convinced them of its value.? Unfortunately, it was at the end of the event, but perhaps they'll do that next time.

开云体育I believe the colored squares on the tracks use the same colors as originally displayed in the packet scroller ().?? Specifically: "Invalid"?-
See details in the upcoming "Invalids" trace log But in the track, a black square is
normal.

开云体育Yes, if the station isn't including altitude information in their
beacon packets, the numbers won't show up.?? This feature is
really nice for watching High-Altitude-Balloon APRS tracks as well
as when us flat-landers go driving in the mountains (like the
climb on US 70 just before it intersects 27, nose-bleed 200'
altitude gain!) Glad you find APRSIS32 helpful.?? And yes, the Tour-de-Cure ride last Sunday in Orlando was nice.?? Paul (KJ4DXK, BIKE2) and I (BIKE1) enjoyed our 19.8 mile trek clearing the bike path in the pre-dawn light.?? Our best accomplishment this year was calling for a SAG with a shovel to clear the 2 dead critters that were in the center of the bike lane BEFORE the actual riders got to that location! And I did see you drive by with your load of bikes and riders at
one point.?? I was cooling my heels at Rest Stop 6 when you SAGged
them back to start/finish from way down south. Lynn (D) - KJ4ERJ - Author of APRSISCE

Thanks, Lynn.? Sorry I missed you last weekend at the Tour de Cure Ride.? I was way down south on the routes.? I hope it went well for you. I continue to be astonished at how perfect your APRS software is for those events.? Several of us SAG and Rover vehicles have started using a Windows device running it (well, I have all along), and it gives us almost total awareness of what's going on, in addition to keeping us on course with the .gpx file overlays and the rest stop objects.? And when the Command Post puts a rider-needing-assistance object out there, who could ask for anything more? Gil, WB2UTI? |

Why are some of the positions with open boxes, filled in boxes, or maybe nothing?? Your example below is a good shot of this.

I also use a WeatherFlow Tempest (https://tempestwx.com/station/105677/grid).? Installation is easy.?? I use weewx (https://weewx.com/) to do my APRS-IS reporting (https://aprs.fi/KJ4ERJ-WX) with their WeatherFlowUDP module.? weewx also gives me local graphs and such without using the cloud as it directly captures the UDP weather packets on my LAN (http://ldeffenb.dnsalias.net/weewx/).?? There's also a plug-in for Home Assistant that pulls the same UDP data into HA for display and use by automations. Lynn (D) - KJ4ERJ - Author of APRSISCE for Windows Mobile and Win32 |

开云体育A screen cap is helpful, but I suspect it's their beaconed altitude.? See what you have checked in Screen / Labels on the main window.? If you select Altitude there, it will show on all MultiTrack tracks if the station is beaconing altitude. Lynn (D) - KJ4ERJ - Author of APRSISCE

开云体育I use an Ambient Weather WS-2000. It does Ambient Network, Weather Underground and CWOP through an external routine.?Davis is better but much more expensive. ?The only thing I don’t like is the anemometer can’t be remoted to higher elevation but 30’ wouldn’t really make much difference in my location. I would need to get about 80-100ft to be above tree tops but that
is out of spec for NWS. ?I believe the spec is 10’ for atmospheric and 30’ for wind.?
But overall very happy with the Ambient for the price.?
