Re: Collection Documentation Templates?

Hi Rachel

?

There are a couple of great resources I recommend. The first is

Moving forward, this book may prove useful:

And finally, there¡¯s Janice Klein¡¯s helpful mantra: All you need is an offer, and acceptance, and a transfer of property. If you can document these items, having a formal ¡°Deed of Gift¡± is a nice to have but not a need to have for older acquisitions. For new acquisitions, it¡¯s important because it codifies the transfer/ownership into one document.

Good luck,

Subject: [AAMG] Collection Documentation Templates?

?

Hi all,

?

I am the newest manager of our campus collection and have not found any contracts or other documentation for acquiring new works. Some pieces in the collection have an acquisition paper with general information, but I don't have anything that covers any legal agreement in the purchase, i.e. if we purchase photographic negatives how we would handle printing them at a later date or even copyright.?

?

Does anyone know of any templates for this type of thing?
