You hit the nail on the head! Got home today and took a look and that
is exactly what it is. Don"t you just love the chinglish instructions
that come with these imports?

BTW: funny thing... My manual has a warning (in the best pigeon
english) that the saw is NOT to be used in the vertical mode.
However,
it came with the surface plate and the bracket. Go figure! 8-)
