In the meantime, if you see someone who doesn't know, or puts the oars away wrong, please tell them and show them the YRC way.? I was in touch with Andy on another matter this week and asked him about the fish in the river this year, specifically shad. Here is his reply: ? The shad run was not so great this year.? It was only 190K this year, which is about 140K off the long term average.? Last year wasn¡¯t so hot either, but that may have been due to wet weather, turbidity and cold temps so most of the shad stayed below Holyoke. ? As some of you know, I am the program coordinator the "Rowing Strong, Rowing Together" program for young moms in Holyoke. I am calling for volunteers for our annual Young Parents Regatta scheduled for saturday Aug 27th at Holyoke Rows boathouse (rain date: aug 28th).
Volunteers are needed for boat carrying, oar carrying, dock master-ing, launch driving, time keeping etc. Volunteers arrive at 9am. The regatta should be over around 1pm.
