Thanks Ernie! Yes, good to be doing after the Covid gap and other matters.
?
Here are a few details:
?
I plan o rig and launch a Maas and Piernert 25, and have both available for you to pick you practice vessel
I will do a demo and then each is invited to give it a go. Its pretty straightforward, but then again, not necessarily as easy as it looks in the videos. It is a fun time, underscored with the great Yankee spirit and some inevitable hilarity. We are among friends!
I plan to tether each boat due to residual current and needing to have a safety back up.
Both of the demo boats are stern rigged without stays.? If you row with a stern rigger/bow stay, or bow rigger/stern stay, you may wish to do the practice in that boat. It would be a plus for all to see how that unfolds, as sometimes we find ourselves rowing in an unfamiliar boat in an unfamiliar place. Launch your stayed-boat and place northerly up the dock a bit.
May be cool and cloudy so bring a change of clothes.
See you in the AM as you are able and or interested.

Just a reminder:?

Jonathan will be leading us in a self-rescue demonstration and practice session this coming Saturday, August 17, at 7:30 a.m. at the marina dock. Bring a towel.?

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. It's important to know how to self-rescue in case you fall into the river. Even if you've?done a self-rescue drill previously, it's good to do it again now and then. (We used to do this regularly, at least once or twice a season. But we haven't done it in a while. We're hoping to return to doing it on a regular basis.)
