Re: Self Rescue Session

? YRC

There are a lot of people in the club who know how to " Self Rescue".? I'm one of them- taught at Craftsbury. . Save YRCF money for boats, oars, and rent. Re-entering a boat is not that difficult, you just need to practice. BTW, if you can't re-enter safely, just get on the stern and paddle to shore until it is shallow enough to step on each side of the boat.??

It might be a good idea to hire one of the UMass assistants to teach this skill. If not done right, it is very easy to injure yourself doing this.

Hello Fellow Rowers,

Would anyone be interested in learning how to self-rescue?? Now would be the time, warm days, warm water.? I know I have wanted to learn that to feel more comfortable when I’m out there by myself.? If anyone else is interested maybe it could be a group exercise.? Otherwise, if someone could coach me individually I would appreciate that.

If anyone else is interested I’d be happy to organize a day and time.

Thanks!
Brenda
