by the way , it's better to declare less than 50usd and usps .
This might be problematic. I recently picked up a parcel at the customs with IG00151s from Doug. The officer asked me to open the parcel and wanted to see the content. He took a look at the chips, and his only question (with a smile) was: "For a monophonic or a polyphonic CS?" He knew the real prices without having a look at the bill....

Ok, that is custom Munich, not 20. Arrondissement. ;-)

I have the rank "11" chips that were the most stable/least amount of tuning drift. I can include the diode if you like...

Re: Hi / group activity

that's good... then I 'd first do a swap from another voice of your synth, since you already have confirmation of those that still work.
Then, you'll know if buying another chip will for sure fix it.

I did the sensory checks, lol , no unusual smells, nothing hot compared to adjacent boards no visible broken or burned traces ,? mad about my gaff with the one chip from my spare cards though, and I still think reverse engineering to go from the stable chip to original may be required...

Hi to Laurie laurie,

?I have a way to check voice cards , as well as the propietary chips without allowing excess current to pass through anything.
It's just an idea, but if you wanted to send a card to check , that's a possibility. I'm in LA, and am the guy currently running the unison mod for diy'ers you might have seen. If nothing is truly damaged, or if you want, I can also repair whatever is wrong, using your spare parts if you prefer. Anyway, without me doing that, you probably don't want to continue slapping parts in the card until you know more about the failure. Have you done the usual sensory checks, i.e. test for hot parts, smell, etc ? Nothing visually obvious or fatigued ?

Since you say it affects the other banks voice, that is NOT a recommended, safe method.

Re: Mono Modification

Hi Florian,

I'd need it for the adjustment procedure. I would add a switch to the
gate lines, so I could deactivate all voices but one (or some voices).
Your method may still work for the pitch adjustment, but for setting the
envelope times, I really have to have a synchronous start of the two
voices I am comparing.
Aha, I see, sorry - I thought you were referring to pitch adjustment
when you said tuning.

Agreed, for envelope time adjustment my method would be of no use. But
how about simply pressing four keys at the same time, trigging all the
envelopes at the same time? (-:

/mr - wouldn't want my CS-50 voices more closely calibrated than that ;-)

Re: Mono Modification

Hello Mattias

my request is not about unisono because of its sound.

Mono Modification

While restoring this CS50 I thought, that a mono-unisono mode would be very helpful for tuning. So I am looking for a description of that modification (especially for a CS50). I've searched the groups archive for it, but did not find any details about it. I only found it mentioned as taken for known.

Are there any detailed explanations somewhere?

I tried to understand the principle of the KAS board, but I don't find any signal that resets the voice counter. I also don't find any significant difference between the KAS board of a CS50 and a CS60 (at least in this aspect).

Hello Rob

The group settings seem to forbid attachments. You may either upload the picture to the photo section or send it me. I think I can identify them, as I restored two CS60 and a CS80 already.

Re: oops, there's an error in my last message...

Actually, I sent Kent proof of that privately, because I would want to know that if someone had been
getting that much from something I had built. It is in fact, a fact that it goes for 850GBP on that site.
?
But in any event, mine gives the end user the ability to do it himself/herself. My design is slightly different as well , but the functionality is the same.
?Thanks

Very likely indeed as RL music does seem to like inflated figures :)

In any event, what I am doing is a bit different, especially from the user's perspective, so I am serving the DIY folks who want to do it themselves. I also changed the circuit a bit.? I haven't looked at the site since I began designing this, so I apologize if that's no longer the case.

Is the mod always in the dynamic voice allocation mode? I used to have a CS60 with a mod with switches to select normal, 2-voices per key, 4-voices per key, and full unison modes. I think it would be more useful to have a way to select how many voices are stacked.
