I don't know, I have never had to replace a ribbon.... I hear some guys have done it... there may be a replacement spring or something that you have to re affix under the felt... some one should speak up about where you can get remedy.... look in earlier threads.... its not the first time ribbons were discussed

ah... i was wrong... i put my iphone with the camera on?inside the lid while closing it...?the support is not directly on top of the ribbon but rather between the ribbon and keys... the ribbon must be damaged from something else

I dont believe that would be a place to put a support rod.... and?if it were?a support block,lets say?to strengthen the lid for travel,? I would suspect it is to touch between the ribbon and preset buttons, but again does not exist on any CS80

here's a picture of my CS-60 lid... the "support" is that rectangular thing in the middle... it has a little piece of felt on it where it makes contact w/ the CS-60 front panel... specifically, for some odd reason, on the ribbon controller:?
