Well, if you want to connect to the APRS-IS backbone using SSL (and only if using SSL), you need the LotW certificate and key (because the ARRL's Certificate Authority is currently the only recognized

YAAC only works on systems where a Java runtime of at least Java major release 7 is installed. I don't believe there is a Java runtime installer that will work on Windows XP (at least not one for Java
