Re: Java 8_261 on Microsoft Windows breaks YAAC!

Try again, I fixed the permissions problem.

Looks like I don¡¯t have permission to download the file. Opens a web page with this

You don't have permission to access this resource.

Also yes I am running build 156!! Typo!

Don't worry about it. I have the 32-bit version as well:

Hi Andrew

Yes sure I would be glad to try this but, although my windows version is 64 bit (I checked) the version of java must not be because my directory tree is %HOME%/.jssc/windows and the file is an x86 file. How can I change to 64 bit java?

Yes.

I'm a little behind on producing a patch. However, if you're willing to try it, I have a possible solution, but I can't test it myself yet (my one Windows system is deliberately kept behind on its Java version for testing purposes).

I have posted the 64-bit version of the relevant Microsoft Visual Studio runtime library DLL on my website at

Assuming you are using a 64-bit version of Java, if you could download this file and put it in the directory %HOME%/.jssc/win64 (this should have been created the last time you ran YAAC), then try starting YAAC again. If the serial ports work again, then the fix I'm planning will work.

By the way, did you mean build 156 of YAAC? I haven't released build 157 yet, so I'm not sure where you could have gotten it.

Andrew

Is this why, when I bring up yaac in windows, although the port seems to open all right, I cannot see any incoming stations? I am trying to run yaac under Windows using my kenwood d700a. I have windows 10 and started yaac from a command prompt. I have build 157.
