I gather that it is an acoustic hum. This is the transformer vibrating.Try tightening the screws or possibly use some rubber gromets to isolate the transformer from the chassi. WT

sam @ syntaur.com has a full replacement kit, very nice encoders, detented but much smoother and quieter than the originals. they feel great. Kit also comes with a set of debounce capacitors. -omar

true. now if it were being used to try and MIDI sequence the Xpander, I'd say no way in hell...but since it's just being used to send patch/sysex data and control parameters, it may still be useable
