Randomness is my friend;-)
I have to admit there is big fun in setting up patches that just do
unexpected things all by themselves.
I've heard this many times over the years- that the XPander ramps
are faster than the envelopes, but my ear doesn't hear this,
probably because I'm not doing something else correctly with the
ramp.
You know what, your right. I checked with my scope - no difference.
I guess it's a mind game I played on myself. While I was at it, let
me dispell another myth. It is said that if you modulate an
envelope's attack rate with the same envelope, you can get a concave
or convex slope to the envelope. Again checked with scope, and nope,
attack slope just gets longer (+ modulation) or shorter (-modulation).
Installing & running Midiox takes less timt than tho send this
email ;-)
It's not complicated- although the UI could be a little more
convenient to use when sending/receiving patches.
For one, the studio machine (running ME) is not on the net. I have a
MOTU MTC AV for midi I/O and I don't think I can run the thing with
VISTA. They barely support PC's for that matter. This means I have
make a copy and move it over there.
And two, the studio is just a general mess right now. Anyway, I plan
to do it soon because I bought some replacement backup batts, and
will have to get midiOX going to back up my patches.
What do you mean- whatever happened to it?
Well the last post on the site was in 2000, so I guessed it was
defunct. I have a lot of self sustaining patches like those demoed
and thought hey, maybe I could get in on this?
