开云体育Friends, Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG) is offering a
chat with Jennie Tian on Nervous System Care for 2e and Gifted
Individuals. The session will explore how the nervous system works, how being
stuck in survival mode impacts it, and how to care for those
gifted with sensitivity. Jennie Tian is a neurodivergent, Chinese-American woman with a trauma history, who strives? to make the world safer for people left behind by our mental health care systems. Founded in 1985, Mary Baldwin University's Program for the Exceptionally Gifted (PEG) is a unique research ?based program for gifted girls aged 12-16 who want to pursue their university career early by living in the PEG dorm and attending university classes.?? Join Carla Van Devander and Liesel A. Lutz for this special SENGChat!? Carla Van Devander became Director of the Program for the Exceptionally Gifted (PEG) in 2018.?? Liesel A. Lutz is a 2020 alum of Mary Baldwin's Program for the Exceptionally Gifted. opportunity to hear from Deirdre V. Lovecky, Ph.D on her book Different
Minds: Gifted Children With ADHS, ASD and Other Dual
Exceptionalities.? The virtual event is Tuesday April 9th
from 4:00 to 5:30 pm Pacific Time.? Dr. Lovecky is a clinical
child psychologist specializing in services for children and their
families. Located in Providence RI, she directs the Gifted
Resource Center of New England.? She currently is writing a Blog

开云体育From the NAGC: Legislative Updates ? I'm happy to report that the Javits Gifted and Talented Act was level-funded for FY24 at $16.5 million. Given the current divide in Congress and House Republicans' proposal to eliminate all Javits funding, this was the best-case outcome. ? President Biden released his the other week, which asks for $16.5 million for Javits grants next year as well. Overall, the president's budget request proposes a 4% increase for the Department of Education. ? The ACE Act was introduced last November and we are still actively asking advocates to contact their Members of Congress and ask them to co-sponsor this bill. ? to CEC's action center to easily contact your legislators and ask them to co-sponsor the ACE Act. |

It will be interesting to learn how the district plans to provide services as required by the recent Order from the Oregon Department of Education after the Department found PPS in violation of the TAG mandate. ?
