Omni-Rig "Xiegu X6100.ini", Omni-Rig 1.20 2
Hi Everyone, I'm freely sharing the recent work I've done, on creating a specific command set file for the Xiegu X6100 radio, for usage with the Omni-Rig 1.20 CAT control sofware. Here are the (attached) file details: File Name: Xiegu X6100.ini File Version: 1.0.0 File Release Date: 20240401 File SHA-256 hash: 63edc1ae1bf927d640c0866aec25bf3aea2018bfd19528d8dc28ae30797b82ff If you would like to use this file with your X6100 please make sure you: 1. Download Omni-Rig 1.20 (https://www.dxatlas.com/OmniRig/Files/OmniRig.zip) 2. Follow the necessary instructions on how to add this file to Omni-Rig (just copy this file to folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Afreet\OmniRig\Rigs") 3. Use the following parameters, on Omni-Rig, for your X6100: Rig Type: Xiegu X6100 Port: COMx (x is the number of the COM port used to CAT control your X6100) Baud rate: 19200 Data bits: 8 Parity: None Stop bits: 1 RTS: Low DTR: Low Poll int, ms: 500 Timeout, ms: 4000 You can find Omni-Rig, and all the necessary instructions (thank you, Alex Shovkoplyas, VE3NEA), here: https://www.dxatlas.com/omnirig/ For a list of software compartible with Omni-Rig please go here: https://www.dxatlas.com/omnirig/CompatibleSoft.txt The file can be opened and read with a simple/basic text editor. I've commented each command set so if you want to know more about what's working and what's not, I suggest you take a look at the comments. Hopefully this file is usefull to anyone using "IC-7000" or other ICOM files that were not designed specifically for the X6100. Have fun! 73 from CT2HME

R1CBU firmware 0.24.0 57 #development #firmware #r1cbu #R1CBU-Firmware
Hi. First of all - thanks for all, who provided a feedback of previous versions. I switched to Github actions for build an whole image. Actual release available on the Releases page on GitHub. It's a full image, not the update. You can preserve your configurations and changes: * Copy params.db from DATA partition of SD card to some place BEFORE flashing new image * Flash image * Boot transceiver with inserted SD card, then poweroff * Open saved params.db with any sqlite3 software (e.g. https://sqlitebrowser.org/) and execute SQL UPDATE memory SET val = 3 WHERE name like "vfoa_mode" and (id >= 100 OR id < 300) * Insert SD card back to the computer and replace params.db on DATA partition with saved version

R1CBU Firmware - FT8 - Logging 4
Hi - I spent the evening working the world on FT8 and FT4 - Amazing how easy and intuitive it was to operate (even though it took time to sync) Just a quick question - Does the firmware provide any logging of the contacts or do I continue to use my separate manual logging software ?

Power meter not working 9
Hi! So I have an issue with my Xiegu which is no power shown on meter. ALC is always near 100 no matter what I input. SWR meter also shows very high numbers but expected that power meter doesn't work in the first place. I have scanned SWR while having calibration load and graph showed low numbers as expected. So I thought that it worked as it should. Next day, when I tested new antenna, but surprisingly there were seemingly odd values. When I tried to TX on SSB, both power and SWR meters showed weird numbers. When I opened it, 2 (I think) solder balls fell out, I also haven't noticed anything burned. Recently, after coming back to this rig, I spent some time reading on similar issues and decided to replace finals (AFT05). After that I checked again how meters look and it hasn't changed at all, though it did actually TX something. One thing I noticed was short on antenna port which is odd to me. In the meantime battery level indicator showed proper values after few months of doing that, which was extremely weird to even happen in the beginning. Note that its ~2yrs old now, and I have it since April this year from another ham, which didn't use it that much. Because of the above I assume its ATU board issue, but I'm yet to confirm that, hopefully you guys could help me with that. Thanks in advance, 73

MIC buttons non-functional 4
The mic it came with (i bought second hand) did not function properly, only the PTT and lights worked. I swapped it out for an other Icom Mic, it also functions in this same way. Anyone have some insight on this? Am I an Idiot? or just unlucky?

BPSK31
Hello, Ibought X6100 before 2 years. All is ok, but decoding of BPSK31 not in order, can you someone put me the configuration for decode BPSK31? Autrewise, I see then some people change the program of X6100 to one another based on Linux. There is also too many of bugs in all versions... Xiegu made one uptodate to 1.8 original programm, I see on this forum that someone was very happy to install it and also someone was very unhappy to install the new version original. I like to know what to doing I have an 1.7 version original of X6100. vy 73 from HB9CSM -- Yvan

100 ALC and 0.0w on transmit, no matter the antenna/TX power/band/mode 7 #projects
Hi all, I am having troubles with an X6100. The unit receives fine, but upon initiating a tuning cycle, the power drops from a hair over 0.0w to 0.0w rapidly and ALC goes to 100. This persists when attempting to use any phone modes. I can hear the matching circuits click, and there's no indication the tuning cycle fails at all. Additionally, when attempting to TX, the light goes red and I can again hear relays in the radio click. My voice modulation does appear on the spectrum, but power remains at 0.0w and ALC stays at 100 despite that. My understanding is that this means, for whatever reason, the radio just isn't passing modulation onto the RF amplification stage, which would be a software issue, but I've none the less verified all cables and connectors internal to the radio are connected and appear functional. There's no sign of blown finals. This persists, even on R1BCU firmware and after a factory reset. For context, I'm running a random wire which should be tunable for the X6100, in addition to a couple of resonant dipoles that I have verified with a VNA would not require tuning and should not cause the unit to fold back power. Any help troubleshooting is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, this unit is used so I do not know when this problem began (although I was told the former owner did not have any issues).

Corrupted DL? 2
I downloaded version 20.0, and used Balena Etcher to put the file on my SD card. It tries to verify it, and then reports that it's corrupted. I get the same error when I tried to install the latest factory firmware, and so I know there's probably nothing wrong with the firmware. I used RUFUS, and that didn't have a problem moving the files over to my SD card. Puzzling!! Any ideas where to start? My goals are to update everything to the latest R1CBU firmware, but since I'm having problems getting any firmware over to my SD card I figured the best approach would be to solve that problem first. I'm starting to doubt my purchase of this radio. Leonard/WV3P

R1CBU firmware 0.23.0 Download Source 88
I managed to update 20.1 to 23 by booting up to Linux Mint and then copying the .tgz file to the data partition. It was a good thing that I kept a copy of linux mint on an sd card to boot to and having a usb sd card expanision unit to write to. I am impressed with the cw decoder and the FT8 routine. I haven't made a contact on 20m FT8 yet, but I can see the 5w transmitt on the antenna tuner and it's right on the money. Thank you everyone that contributed to helping me out and especially to G for his hard work. It is appreciated. 73 Chuck W6CSM DM04

A.C. Charger for x6100 4
I want an extra AC charger for my x6100. Does anyone have a source. Appears to not have a listing on the Radioddity site. An Amazon search brings up something that looks like it's for an exercise bike.

R1CBU firmware 0.22.0 83
New: * CW tuner - shows how accurately the radio is tuned to the correspondent's frequency. I had to slightly change the signal preprocessing for the CW decoder - now it works a little differently. * Adjusting the bandwidth for filters with one knob. I did it for CW, but did not disable it for other modes. For CW - the center of the filter always equals to the key tone. * Low and High filters in CW mode change synchronously (central frequency remain unchanged). * Simple level indicator in the recorder.Perhaps, will restyle/rework it in the future. * Time sync in FT8 application. When pressed, rounds the current time on the transceiver to the nearest FT8/FT4 slot. Usage - listen to the broadcast, find a section of silence, press the button - the system time will be updated. I guess it's simpler, than trying to adjust using settings. * ADIF log for FT8. Call signs, reports, QTH are saved. Checked import to hamlog.online, eqsl.cc, qrz.com. * Noise reduction and Noise blanket can be assigned to f1/f2 headset buttons * Battery icon. The charge level is calculated by voltage * Charging icon * Support reading transceiver ID via CAT. Should help solve the problem with some versions of Hamlib * Display peaks on S-meter Changed: * FT8 app now uses USB-D. The sound from the microphone is not mixed into the transmission, and the transmission does not break down after using the ATU. * The output power in the FT8 application match to the installed one. Looks like for internal signal sources the changing output power only works as a limiter (ALC threshold adjustment). * Auto level for waterfall/spectrum is disabled during transmission. Fixed values ??are used during transmission. After the transmission is completed, the auto level is used again. * The buttons on the left (GEN, APP, etc.) ¡°scroll through¡± the corresponding button blocks of buttons below. * Recording and playback levels in settings app are now in decibel s (default 0, range from -10 to +10). * Switching to digital modes and back - by long pressing the SSB button. Short press for the LSB/USB or LSB-D/USB-D switch. * In digital mode, the LSB-D/USB-D inscription changes color. * Power meter, SWR and ALC smoothing is disabled in digital modes. Fixed: * Band "jump" if the transceiver is in the lower range and is tuned to the upper limit. * Zooming spectrum doesn't affect levels. * When changing band/A/B, the waterfall does not forget the data. * Deleting a single entry/message now clears the table. * Fixed some bugs with the FT8 application * Freezes when using headset buttons (possibly my mistake, but now fixed) * Minor stability and performance improvements Also, I raised the recording level in the audio mixer that comes with SDR on linux and is used for recording, CW and FT8 decoding, etc. Initially the sound is very quiet - maybe this is a problem with my transceiver. Update via patch - connect the card to the computer, and drop the tgz file into the DATA disk (for those with Linux - into the root of the DATA partition). The transceiver will update the files on first boot. UPDATE: I fixed wrong behavior when band changing works only in down direction. Looks like I can't attach new file here - so I uploaded it to the Google Drive
