Decoder delay
Hello, My CW decoder was working fine: decoding the station I was working immediately?after I TX'd. Now, for some?reason, it takes a lot of time to read what the other station is CWing. Any suggestions on what?I can?do (AGC has always been off, firmware has always been APP/BASE: V1.1.6 Mar 7, 2023)? |
Re: Noise level out of control
Thanks you Ranier for the answer I did try with AGC A/S/F and it is actually worst, I have use the Radio twice. I notice yesterday on a Pota Activation, I had hell of a time trying to get the Call sign for the incoming station due to this issue. Never the less I did try again switching the AGC with not luck...

Re: Patched BASE firmware with changed TX audio filter low cutoff frequency
#firmware
I decided to go ahead and post the corrected frequency response plots here.
?
The ripple was completely pilot error.
?
It turns out that the X6100 TX image rejection is not so great.? For my demodulation I have been capturing IQ data at 44.1kHz centered on the X6100 TX set to 14.2 MHz for easy playing on my computer sound card.? When I created my SSB demodulation. I neglected to filter off the lower sideband, assuming that nothing was there.? On my radio the image rejection at lower frequencies is on the order of 30 dB.? The X6100 is tuned off about 2.5Hz from the vector signal analyzer I am using for analysis and the lower sideband was beating with the upper sideband in my demodulation code.? I added a filter to remove the lower sideband and the ripple is gone.? So the radio is fine and there is nothing crazy happening ALC wise or funny resonances.? Sorry for going down the rabbit hole.? BTW I wasted a bunch of time trying to get the ALC indicator to show up.? Hopefully they bring it back some day.

Re: R1CBU firmware 0.27.0
I'm not sure if this is an issue, or maybe I am doing something wrong. I am trying to use the FT8 functionality (very impressive, thanks for this!) but while it works well with my regular callsign it does not seem to work correctly with a long callsign required when I'm abroad. For example, I can call CQ G5LSI IO93 from home and it works well, but when I try to call CQ EA8/G5LSI IL18 the firmware goes into transmit mode and sends out tones as normal, but those tones are never decoded properly.?
?
I believe the string "CQ EA8/G5LSI IL18" may be to long for FT8. WSJTX automatically truncates long messages that are too long for FT8 (e.g. sending only "CQ EA8/G5LSI"), but I don't think the current version of the firmware does that. I tried to manually do that by deleting my gridsquare from the QTH setting, but it did not allow me to enter a blank string.
?
Any ideas?

Re: X6100 Internal Battery Issue
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý
I ordered (2) new lithium batteries for my X6100 from Amazon.? My radio exhibited the same problem you're describing.? The charge indicator in the radio shows the voltage of the internal batteries, and not the capacity.? I could turn on my radio, and it would
boot up off the internal batteries, but when I keyed the radio to transmit it would immediately shut off.? When I took the radio apart one of the batteries was very swollen.? It was quite evident that one of the batteries had failed.? It took awhile to get
the battery through Amazon, but it did arrive, and now my radio works as it should.? ?The part number for the batteries is: #605080.? They are lithium polymer batteries rated at 3.7V, and 3000mAh.? I think someone on here posted that you can get replacements
AliExpress?? When I recieved my batteries I simply clipped off the plastic plugs the batteries came with, and soldered the wires directly to the internal board inside the radio.? It's a pretty easy process if you know how to solder.??
I don't remember the exact price of the batteries.? I think the pair cost less than $20.00???
Good luck with the project,
Leonard/WV3P?

I ask how do you know the internal battery is charged.? With ext source the display shows that source's voltage, not internal battery.? Only way to see internal battery is charged is with rig on and using internal battery.
I assume you think the internal battery is full by you charging it for a few hours, but this does not really tell it is charged.? If it will not take a charge with it being bad, then cannot tell by the rig display.
I would say you do have a bad internal battery.? How old is the rig???

Re: X6100 Internal Battery Issue
AliExpress does sell the batteries, there are 2, for the X6100.? But must take the rig apart to replace. Here is another source:
