Still no Ethernet using USB adaptor. Belkin F5D5050? Ok on factory firmware OEM firmware is using older linux kernel. As far as I understand - this network adapter is relatively old. Driver for it might be disabled in new kernel configuration or removed from the source code. I'll check.

Re: Patched BASE firmware with changed TX audio filter low cutoff frequency

Well, upper bound defined near lower in code, so, I guess, it's possible. I wonder, how to make this frequencies configurable during the runtime. Maybe someone have an experience with patching binary? I mean - not only replace values in file, but adding a some logic.

Thomas,
since the Xiegu baseband firmware for the STM32 MCU is encrypted, I think you need their bootloader that has their decryption key to load it.
?
What might work is to decrypt it first, and then load it with the standard STM32 bootloader, since it seems that Xiegu mostly follows the application notes and defaults for a given device.

Big thank you to Georgy for this fantastic firmware. Audio is much more pleasant. Is there any possibility of extending the high frequencies to around 4Khz?
Been looking at YouTube videos of eSSB and the results are impressive. |
STM32 MCU port damaged used to read the CW key input
#development
#firmware
? Situation: Due to a partially torn CW key jack (ground pins) caused by the coupling of another transceiver, the protection circuit at the key input (implemented with a double TVS diode) and a MCU port on the STM32 were damaged. ? I have following Options:
The challenge is, regardless of whether I replace the chip or receive a replacement board from the factory without firmware, I need to program the baseband firmware for the STM32. For sure, I need the firmware. Questions:
?
Is this the programming interface?

Maybe someone here can help or has a contact who can assist with the problem?

X6100 internal battery charge plot
Today I was curious to see how the X6100 internal battery voltage and charge vary over time when charging the battery from almost empty to full.
?
Since those values are available on the second serial port from the STM32 MCU (which can be accessed as '/dev/ttyACM1' on my Linux desktop), I wrote a simple Python scipt to monitor those values and write them to file along with a timestamp.
I then ran a full charge for about 9 hours from about 8am to past 5pm; during that charge the LED next to the power button was always solid green (it was never blinking, and honestly I don't really think it matters as long as it is on).
?
After that, I wrote another Python script to plot the battery voltage (in mV) and charge (in mAh) for the duration of the charge:
?
?
The Python scripts I wrote are attached in case someone wants to report what they see with their battery.

Re: X6100 alternative firmware v0.28.0
The shutdown during low battery operation when turning on WiFi can be explained by the high pulse current consumption of the WiFi module during transmit - I perused some data sheet and found peak currents up to 370mA at 3.3V - no wonder the radio shuts down with a sudden load increase of 1.2W that may just trip the undervoltage shutdown of the GUI computer. The undervoltage shutdown threshold of the radio part seems to be lower.

Volume lower than I remember (???)
Ok, I'm even doubting my sanity (or at least memory)... But it seems to me that the radio doesn't seem as _loud_ as I remember it being. The Volume setting caps out at "55" (which is an artificial metric, I realize). Does everyone's setting top off at "55" or is there something nefarious afoot going on here ¡ª other than my sanity (or memory). Is there a way to make the radio louder through the speaker? I'm using the latest R1CBU (v0.28) firmware.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYes everything on the same network , the radio seems to refuse connections.
