Re: Second x6100, second set of problems
Don't get too excited about your 18 month warranty,? when I brought that up to the vendor they stated that was a misprint and it is really 12 months. Rich

Re: Second x6100, second set of problems
Yep, same here with the battery indications. ?I sure did like the white, to yellow, to red, then to countdown to shutdown feature, but I can read the voltage. I use SSB and random wire antenna, no

Re: Second x6100, second set of problems
I’ve been through two X6100s as well; the charge light flashed with neither. ?And yes, I did the 4X discharge procedure at least twice with both. ?I’ve chalked the light up as another irritating

Re: R1CBU firmware does not load
Hello Andrea, I don't have any problem writing images I have done it for years using dd. Being a blind ham such apps as you suggest are not accessible. I looked at Etcher a couple of years ago, so it

Re: R1CBU firmware does not load
Hi Georgina, you can use Balena Etcher for Mac ( https://etcher.balena.io/#download-etcher ) and burn the zipped file from it. So no need to unzip the image, etc. It is a safer way to do and it always

Re: New radio, heat mitigation
I like the idea of lowering voltage and still operate with 10W. Applying such on field/battery, would a module such as XL4015 5A Step Down DC-DC Converter between the battery and radio and regulated

Second x6100, second set of problems
I had to return an x6100 because the battery failed within the first month after attempting to use the 4x discharge procedure. Aside from the battery, it worked fine with my raspberry pi Js8 and wstj.

Re: Software Update
Installed the new 1.1.7 Firmware Upgrade 20230831 (fix CAT) and CAT NO longer works. Looks like they fixed someting and destroyed something else! It works with R1CBU software though. Ufff. Xiegu....
Re: R1CBU firmware does not load
Many thanks Richard N1RBD. Your comment twigged with me as I did find it took a very long - 30-40 seconds to power down the radio when it was hung up on boot. A better sd card was the issue. Thanks as

Re: R1CBU firmware does not load
Oleg, many thanks for your comment. I tried a better sd card first as that seemed pretty easy and another comment made it seem quite likely my problem. Failing that I was going to get them connected

Re: WiFi Connect
Mac IP shows 192.168. 254. 30. Changed 6100 IP to 192.168.254.100 and still no connect. Turned x6100's DHCP to "on" and do not see any change in the IP address. Have tried DHCP previously on 6100

Re: R1CBU firmware does not load
I agree on the micro SD card issue. I went through 4 of them yesterday before I got one that would take 1/2 it's rated data capacity. Dennis Starks Military-Radio-Guy KB?SFP

Re: R1CBU firmware does not load
I've seen this in an extreme way on the 6100.? One SD card boots and run fine.? Another boots normally, but has severe lag when moving between the auto-mode boundaries on the VFO and will eventually

Connect the USB (dev) to the computer and open the first COM port that appears through the terminal program. When you turn it on, there should be information about the boot process. Then copy-paste

Still no joy! Despite using what appears to be the correct file it still does not boot up. When I start the radio with the sd card, I get a quick flash of the linux boot screen. Then the logo screen

Re: R1CBU firmware does not load
Thanks for that. I dl'd on my Mac - my usual machine but I keep a Win10 laptop for radio stuff - and it reports exactly the same size for the V19 unzipped .img file as well. I am going to get it over

cat control problems - cross posted to R1CBU
I have cross-posted this into the R1CBU group. I think it's not very active, so I thought I'd post it here, to see if I get any ideas. My cat control no longer works with v19 R1CBU. I am running on

Re: R1CBU firmware does not load
Yes, thanks for the suggestion but I did that. The radio does have a nice sd mechanism vs some others with just a cheap slot you have to dig it out of which IMHO speaks to the overall quality.
