Adjustment of the DSP filters adjusts width and shift at the same time. ?I'm used to having width and shift as separate controls. In the standard firmware, the filters are really made strangely. Re: x6100 antenna mount
That may work.? I thought of using the end cap screws or replacing them with longer screws to attach a mount but I think they¡¯re too small and wouldn¡¯t hold up under normal use.? Probably the best option is a friend with a 3D printer. Lisa, I think you are right about the lack of the ground lug making it more difficult.? It may be possible to fabricate or 3D print something that clips around the end of the radio and can support the weight of an antenna.? That design work is outside of my abilities, though. |

Re: X6100 with Micro PA 50 amplifier
You may need to make up a cable using the wiring details for the ACC port in the manual, with the tip and sleeve of a 3.5mm TRRS plug connected to the center and ground of an RCA plug for the other end (assuming the PA50 uses an RCA connector for the PTT in). I can confirm from experience that this works perfectly, with my 6100 keying an RM MLA100. I'm using it in the RF-sensing trigger and band switching mode but would like to use a cable.? Does anyone know what cable to use? An ordinary stereo cable doesn't work, probably because the X6100 has an extra connection for ALC. |

Re: x6100 antenna mount
The reason nobody makes an attachable mount is that there¡¯s no provision for attachment to the side of the X6100 like the ground lug screw on the IC-705.? I think the only way to get there is something like the method you have used. Since I'd have to have the radio on a flat surface using any of those, I cobbled up a mount using a tiny camera tripod that I already own, and a 3 ft piece of coax. I won't be walking around with it but it is good enough for now.? I'll keep my eyes out for a truly portable mount and will let the group know if I find anything. |

Re: X6100 with Micro PA 50 amplifier
For my amp I got a 4pole 3.5mm cable from eBay it had phono plugs on the other end, but I did find that the one that had the tx out did not use the same 0V ground so I had to use a meter and find the correct ground, I wish I just got the plug buy it's self, as it is a bit heavy as there are 4 screened cables coming out of it, but it is molded to the plug, Dave 2E0DMB On Sun, 30 Jul 2023, 20:23 K4LXY, <k4lxy.cw@...> wrote: Thanks, Dave.? Yes, I see that. The PA50 uses a standard stereo plug so I'm guessing I'll have to make up one with a 4-pole plug on one end and a 3 pole on the other. |
Re: New firmware??
The Wi-Fi is working as I have used it to go into the Linux program on the radio and change the font colors so that they are easier to see. Red on Blue just didn't cut it so I researched other people changing the colors and I followed their directions and used my laptop with the programs recommended and was able to modify the font colors. This is really a cool little radio.
