Re: Version 0.20.1 updates #firmware #r1cbu #R1CBU-Firmware

R1CBU firmware have 2 upgrade options:
* with full SD card image (~200 mb archive). Such image I've attached to the first message in this thread.
* with partial upgrade (small archive for update only changed files). This file should be copied to the SD card and transceiver will update files on the boot. This way will preserve all your settings, but it can't update any file.

If we are talking about this update - it can't be delivered as partial upgrade, because It contain kernel changes, and kernel partition is not mounted during boot.

Also, I'm working on some new changes - and this version will be uploaded to GDrive as partial update archive. I can compile and upload it, but right now it still have some known bugs/issues. I want to fix them before publishing new version.

Re: Version 0.20.1 updates #firmware #r1cbu #R1CBU-Firmware

I don’t want to learn to compile. Can someone upload a compiled version (for easy copying to a flash drive) the way R1CBU always did? Thank you.

Real Time Clock RTC Backup Battery / bad charging

Hi all,
?
Yesterday I realised something had gone wrong with my X6100 battery management and the battery was reporting flat (6.6V red square and shutting down)..
?
I noticed also that every time the radio powered on the clock was set to 1:00AM and 1-1-2020 until the WiFi kicked in and reset the time to the NTP time.
?
This post will document my findings and any solutions.?
?
I pulled the batter and measured each cell at ~3.6V each, so pretty much well balanced and certainly not 3.3/or 3.2 the radio is reporting. The same was measured on the yellow wire, with both reading 7.2-7.4 approx.?
?
the R1CBU firmware reported 7.4V / The stock FW 6.x to flat.?
?
Charger is checking in... current draw is there and LED blinks.?
?
Radio shows charge on screen in RX mode.?
?
Battery never moves UP in V bar 0.1 V
?
The RTC battery was reading 3.1V (not sure if this is flat in Xeigu terms but I need to swap it for a fresh one to rule it out) radio currently on a 12 hour charge now to see if it moves up.?
?
I will write up any findings etc here for the group.?
?
Cheers

Re: Speak/Headphone socket broken

Hey Del,
?
The same thing happened to me today. I was holding the radio between my knees (big mistake) and broke the keying jack. Upon internal inspection, I saw that the surface mount points had all pull free from the board along with the jack. I realize I must find the points on smd filled pc board surface to wire back to a cemented jack or even a wired jack cable. Do you have a schematic or remember the TRS/DotDashGround points accessible on the board to do that? I don’t even have any pad availability for tracing.?

Hi OM Dyuldin,
many thanks for the quick Info :)

Re: Version 0.20.1 updates #firmware #r1cbu #R1CBU-Firmware

Hi Chris.
I'll upload new version after testing, hope it will happens in a week. Github code might contains some issues.
Regarding compiling - you can use any Linux you most familiar with. If you have built base system with buildroot - you already have all for compilation application.

Re: Version 0.20.1 updates #firmware #r1cbu #R1CBU-Firmware

Hello OM Dyuldin,
?
can you maybe update your Goggle Drive for us with a build of your latest version?
What do i have to do if i want to compile it, seen your Readme but don't know which Linux Version you used for compiling. Maybe Debian Buster?
I'm not familiar with compiling on gcc, did it years before the last time to compile my kernels in the 2000ers.... and use often Arduino for ESP32 and Arduino boards but not really on Linux only using ist here on my Raspberry Pis? e.g. pi-hole, weatherstation, HAMClock, Driver for my old HP-5L for Wifi and Windoof :)
?
73 de Chris and thank you for your work

Re: X6100 JS8Call problem

I will definitely try both of these responses and let you know what happens. Thank you!?

X6100 JS8Call problem

I'm trying to set up my x6100 to use JS8Call. CAT turns green but when I hit the "Test PTT" I get: Rig Failure, Hamlib error: Communication timed out while setting current VFO mode.?
?
Can anyone provide me with good settings so that maybe I can find what I am doing wrong?
?
TIA, Bobbi

I tried a BNC to banana plug adapter.? The negative terminal was attached to the wire laying on the ground.

I just returned my X6100 and have this frame I have not returned.

Looks good and is sturdy.? Also, have a stand that I 3D printed as well.

Nothing wrong with the radio.? I just decided? I wanted to do long-haul SSB voice ?

As for the counterpoise, I used a 1/8" jack and soldered my counterpoise wire to the ground pin.? Then I plug it into the ACC jack.?? The gives you your "ground" connection.

Re: New 6100 w/ Bad Battery? UPDATE"

Dave,
Thanks for the clarification, I didn't see that in either one of the manuals.? I've been turning the radio off when charging, so I can't see the lightning bolt without turning the radio on for a quick look.? I thought that when the green light stopped blinking and going steady was telling me charging was complete but maybe it just means it's gone from "bulk" charging to "float" charging before turning the charge circuit off totally?

I mic and H mic gains and SSB power settings x6100

Hello,
Hopefully someone can help me.
?
I have a "used" x6100 that works but there are a few things that does not work.
APP ?: V1.1.7 Aug 25 2023. 15:09:46
BASE: V1.1.6 Mar ?7 2023. 09:57:03
?
1) The I-MIC GAIN and the H-MIC GAIN does nothing if lowered or raised. Both mic audios have a steady and good audio gain. It does not matter where I set the mic gains (0-50) makes no difference.
?
2) The TX Power on SSB setting is incorrect. Settings from 2w to 10w produce FULL output (10-14 watts). 0.1w to 2w has variable increase/decrease output and is ok.
?
I have tried previous versions and did not correct these issues.
Is there something I can do to fix the Mic gain adjustments and SSB power output adjustment?

Re: New 6100 w/ Bad Battery? UPDATE"

When you got your radio as new the battery needs to be fully charged initially and the charging is finished when the little lightning bolt next to the battery display goes away. The little green light being steady is not an indication that charging is finished.
