Re: Battery storage level

Normally when talking about battery percentage (%) we are referring to the amount of charge, not the voltage.? A battery at full charge might have a voltage of 8.2V and have a charge that will last at 2A for 4 hours or 8AHrs.? If discharged same for 2 hours then that would mean the battery is half discharged or at 50%, but still have like 7.8V.

Percentage is typically referring to the amount of charge.

Most Li batteries (Li-Ion, LiFePO4, etc) maintain their near full voltage during their entire discharge cycle.? That is why when they start to go dead they do so very quickly.

Re: Portable vertical antenna suggestions

Bob,
Reason I asked, I tried a 17'6" telescoping antenna with 4-10' sloping radials. Ant base is at about 42". Resonated at 15.5 MHz.?
Read recently that radial length is critical for elevated verticals.? Will try longer radials next Spring when ground thaws.

Purchased X6100 in July. Tried R1CBU? software but gave up for lack of docs. I use it for POTA and only use it on QRP CW. No problems yet. Using lithium 20,000 mah battery pack with 9V trigger cable. Less heat, longer operation. Saw post indicating it would operate at 5w at 9V.

Re: KQ4KOT - Confirming my eMail

There is no need to reverify your email address unless you received an email from Groups.io asking you to do so.? In that case please follow their instructions.
This is completely an internal Groups.io thing. Nothing you send to this group will re-verify your address.

Just to be clear, unless you have specifically be asked to do something in an email from Groups.io, you don't need to worry about this.

Cheers

Bob,
Are you using radials and if so, are they on the ground or elevated?

This process has been ongoing and those members of groups whose email domains are problematic will have already been notified.? I just checked members of this group and have noted that there are some who have already been re-verifying their emails.? This is the bulk of the text of message I received from that has some details of these goings on:

On Saturday January 13th, 2024, an anti-spam service called Spamhaus labeled one of our email servers as a spam sender. This caused any email service that uses Spamhaus to stop accepting email from our server. Because of this, we began a reverification process and sent out reverification emails to a subset of our users on Sunday January 14th. Spamhaus lifted their block on Monday, January 15th, 2024, but we need to continue the reverification process.

You can see which, if any, of your users are affected. Go to the Admin section of your group and look at the Members page. Next to each user's email, there may be a badge with the letters RI or RS. RI means the confirmation/reverification is in progress, but has not been completed. RS means the confirmation/reverification has been successfully completed.

Here are the next steps in the reverification process:

  1. On Sunday, January 28th, group emails to people in the RI state will be disabled. Messages from moderators and login link emails will still work.
  2. Until February 11th, people will still be able to reverify themselves and the RI and RS badges will still show up in the Members page.
  3. After that, members still in the RI state will be removed from groups. The activity log entry will be?Membership - Member Removed, with the added reason of?reverification failed.

?

For domains where no reverifications happened, no invites or direct adds will be permitted going forward. If there is a valid person on one of those domains, they should contact?[email protected]?to have the domain ban lifted.

We apologize for the inconvenience this process may cause, but it is necessary to ensure that we are able to continue delivering group email reliably. Thank you for using Groups.io.

So, if you received an email from explaining what is going on and asking you to verify you email address and you have not yet done so, please do so.
