Re: Waiting For the Possible New X6200 Product?
Looking at the spec for the X6200 it does talk in one spec about 20W, but in others more about 5-10W. The G90 does 20W. From the grape vine it appears the X6200 will cost $1000, much more than the X6100, but nothing firm at this time.? X6200 is to be direct sampling, antenna directly to the ADC.

Oleg, Yes, my fx4cr will do 20 watts…and the firmware has been open-sourced. It’s maturing as a one-man shield product. 73, Frank K4FMH --- Frank M. Howell, PhD Ridgeland, MS frankmhowell (at) hotmail.com --- |

Re: version 0.19 : my GPS is not more working
Thank you Jerry and Oleg.
I followed the guide and made it work with your help. I got 3D and all the data correctly. Only problem I found is that, if I move to another menu on the radio, when I come back to the GPS menu function, all data acquired is gone. Unable to make it work again. It may have to do with what you said of Linux. So I still have to do the last step on your instructions. Write down, update manually, etc. Will revert with an update later. For the time being, initially it works but need to test more. 73 Rob. YS1RS |

I always consider the 'value for money' of a purchase. I don't need the best equipment, I need good equipment.
I.m.h.o. the Xiegu X6100 has a very good value for money compared to other HF portable rigs. And performs well for the tasks I need it for. Even when it lacks working bluetooth and other non essential flaws. Comparing it to the same formfactor rig IC705 (yes it is better, has VHF/UHF etc, but also lacks a tuner and costs 2-3 times more) I would say for me the 'value for money'-factor for a X6100 is unbeatable. The fact that it can be used with other firmware is a considerable bonus. As for the X6200, I will wait. I want to know price and early reviews before I decide to buy one. I agree that Xiegu has a reputation for introducing immature products. If it turns out to be 'just a X6100 with a new fancy coat', I will stick to my X6100. -- Robert |

Re: GPS and X6100
Roberto,
R1CBU's software does support my two GPS pucks. I did a step-by-step write-up a while back describing how I was able to connect them and get the correct GPS time. It is at: /g/xiegu-x6100/message/4409 (I hope the link works) Jerry K6ANI |
GPS and X6100
A quick question here...
I got a USB GPS antenna from eBay (VFan UG-353), that includes everything on the antenna portion of it. Not the dongle version. I used it to work Winlink (with no internet of course) and Winlink got the position perfectly and adjusted my time, etc. Sent/received email messages OK as Emergency Preparedness Practice. I connected the GPS to the laptop USB of course. Regarding the Xiegu X6100... I see an option on R1CBU's Firmware that uses GPS. Does it means I can connect the GPS received directly to the Xiegu? I tried and didn't work (used a USB to USB-C adapter... or is this option for me to connect the GPS received to the laptop same way I did with the Winlink? 73 Rob YS1RS |
