Re: FT8 station selection
FT8 app on X6100 can start transmit with not more than 1 (or 1.5) seconds after 15 seconds time slot started otherwise generating and transmitting message might exceed slot.
Also FT8 decoding support "incremental" decoding - some strong stations messages might be decoded 1-2 seconds before ending time slot. In theory - you have about 2-3 seconds to select CQ station and press MFK to start calling it without 2-slots delay. Otherwise app will wait for the next time slot, when chosen station will listen (30 seconds). --

eQSL & R1CBU
Had successful FT8 cq cntacts with Rc1CBU software. Removed the adi record of contact from the sd card and uploaded to the eQSL logging program.? Further checked the software to confirm the record was in my outbox of eQSL. No luck! so, cotacted eQSL support for some insight. The following is their reply
"
>>? ?Uplog is processed but not found in my out basket file - your logger is not recognized that is one thing : The author of the logging program needs to add it, we have a special form that he can use to enter the details, including header information so that the import routine here will recognize uploads from his program." I could probably enter the information manually with each qso but if automaticly it would be easier. Anyine with similar experience/solution?

Re: New User, some issues, should I try R1CBU X6100 Software
Hi Andy!? You need to keep in mind that x6100 consists from two logic parts: BASE and UI. Base is actually a RADIO and UI board is responsible for controlling BASE. Oleg’s/Georgy’s firmware is (temporarily) loaded to RAM as alternative to UI stock firmware, and communicates with unchanged BASE board. Alternative firmware is not affecting BASE ANYHOW. 73! de Jarek SP9HGN P.S. I’m not a big fan of how alternative firmware looks like (to me is a bit too ?startrek like”), but when it comes to its functionality, performance, usability is like a huge jump into a future! To me, it’s like a different radio. And that compensate me TOTALLY the way how it looks :) (but still, I’m a big fan of Gene’s Roddenberry universum!) FT8 station selection
A brand new newb on the R1CBU software. I was successful in downloading the v.29 software and loading it on the x6100. Using CQ I have made some contacts. However I seem to be befuddled with how to trigger on a contact with a station calling CQ. It seems like when I can trigger a particular station calling CQ I am a cycle or 2 behind answering. Am I doing something incorrect?
Additionally fwiw I uploaded the adi file on the sd card from a successful QSO and while eQSL said the upload was successful it did not appear in my outbox plus got a message the "logger 1601" was not update in eQSL and to advise the webmaster.
Excuse my "2 issues" i one submission.

New User, some issues, should I try R1CBU X6100 Software
Hi,
I just got my X6100 used. Updated to the latest X6100 Firmware. I had issues with WLAN connection. Fixed that by removing space from the WIFI password. LOL. NTP server access is not working for some reason. Radio works so far made a few contacts.
?
Regarding R1CBU X6100 Software, does it have similar capabilities but different, or does it sit ontop of the factory firmware? I am asking because the UI looks slick and if it may fix some of my other issues NTP I might try it. Also, allowing for FT8 on the radio is nice for portable ops.?

Rob,

where did you source the board from?
I had a 6100 years ago and sold it, but I have to say that this one (more recent) performs much better.
If it wouldn't be for the DEV port it would be prefect for my needs. As long as I don't have to access
the port I am not missing anything.
Glad you could fix yours.

Re: x6100 Com ports not seen on my PCs.
Same happened to me! Bought mine from eBay and couldn't obtain any service when it failed. Sorry to hear that.? In my case, my X6100 stopped receiving. One or more components failed internally.? I was using a long wire, protected with common mode choke and Broadcast BC Filter when this happened. Followed all instructions on the Service Manual and since the parts that were suggested to be replaced were quite a few I didn't have the equipment to replace them (microscope, surface soldering equipment, source of the needed parts, etc.) At the end of the day, I had no guarantee it would work. Replaced that board and I am now again in operation. The new board made a huge difference! Corrected many other flaws I had with the radio that I didn't know were there since I bought it used. The difference in receiving, power output, general operation and many other things improved a lot. Since I never operated this radio when new, I didn't notice any degradation (that's why the original owner sold it on eBay I guess). Now, my X6100 behaves the way it should have been when new. I enjoy it so much now. 73 Rob YS1RS

Oleg and Liekens have the right idea - get the source. Xiegu is done with the X6100. The only way forward now is to get as much of the source code from them as possible so that third party developers can continue and expand support. It's built on open source linux, and no one is going to undercut Xiegu on a similar radio - just open source the whole thing.? |
Re: 3D printed MIC
Hi,
?
I have made a new version of my mic design project.
The new version uses a MEMS (rather than electret) microphone element.
?
The design files for the circuit board are online here:
The design files for the enclosure are online here: ?
Overall I am happy with this new mic design.
I think it sounds better than the original X6100 mic and it is even smaller and lighter than my previous (electret) mic design.
