I removed the back and battery and did a printed 2 piece back with a low volume/quiet fan.? For battery I use a LifPo when out portable.

although it is only a cover with the battery taped to the inside, it is where most of the heat radiates from, plus in my mind one of the biggest killers of liPo batteries is heat so the heatsinks on

You could write a fresh image to a second card, boot that card. See if
those settings are better for you, and write them down to apply to your old
card.

Long press on lock resets BASE (and then restart GUI). Without external power BASE during resetting turns off the radio. The same as for updating BASE firmware using OEM application.
