Re: Spurious emissions?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Is QST a magazine or something? Where would I find it? I've looked and looked about spurious emission testing and I can't find anything.

These results will not stop me from using the radio, but it will tell me what precautions I need to take to stay within US regulations.

Did the review say everything is fine or that you need to take special precautions to make sure you stay in compliance while using the radio? I am still looking forward to it and it's the only option For my needs and situation. But I need to know if I can relax and everything will be fine, or if I need to limit the transmissions through specialized antenna set ups and take other measures to stay in compliance.

If the Radio is compliant on its own, I could consider a multi band antenna although I'm probably not doing that anyways. It could be an option though. But if it is not compliant, a multi band antenna is not an option at all. I would need to use the antenna to try to prevent it from transmitting on its harmonics.

I feel like if it were really that spurious, people would be talking about it everywhere, but I suppose people wouldn't know if they were generating third, fourth, fifth, sixth, etc. order harmonics throughout the bands.

And there might be other ways I don't know about that it could do spurious emissions and not comply with the regulations of the US, which is where I am, in ways I don't know and I haven't thought of.

What if I ever used an amplifier later on? That could make those emissions worse and I wouldn't know that they had even been happening.

But maybe they aren't happening and everything is fine. But without testing how can we know? If someone is just using it and they say everything is fine, they either might not know that it is happening to them, or they could have by luck gone on bands or frequencies where they don't occur.

And again, I look forward to using it, but staying in strict compliance with US regulations is very important for my circumstances.

Will I need to be innovative with my antenna design to eliminate harmonics up and down every band or do I not have to worry about it?

Sometimes people can be shortsighted.? I don¡¯t see having to have a callsign as being a valid necessity to joining a group.? We need to be more open and accepting to all with an interest, it just may lead to more people getting licensed.

I had the same problem because my qrz email was not the same as the email I used to join this group. I changed my qrz email so that it synced up with the Group.io and it still got rejected...over and over again. I submitted it one last time with a note telling the moderator to stop using AI to filter the new members and whatdaya know....it got approved.

You would make my life a lot easier if you provided real comparisons of versions. For example, using a second (reference) transceiver loaded onto the equivalent of an antenna from which telegraph transmission would take place. But apparently I'll have to do it myself. And for some reason I¡¯m sure you won¡¯t like the result.

Eh, they convinced me... I did this with the settings. "None" acceleration, "Lite" acceleration x5, x10 and "Strong" acceleration x10, x30.
Will appear in the next release

Re: Dynamic Fast-Slow Auto tune steps #R1CBU-Firmware

That would be a good feature.? Some other rigs have this slow tuning and jump to quicker/faster tuning when rotate tuning knob fast.

I have always had issues with the X6100 tune, seems to slow in 10 Hz mode and cannot get on exact freq in 100 Hz tuning mode.? I find my self continuously going back and forth between the 2 tuning steps.

The faster you turned the encoder the larger the step. As you slowed down your tuning rate the step got smaller.

Interfacing N3FJP with X6100

I was using R1CBU v19 firmware and was trying to get the CAT function to work with N3FJP AC Log.? I've found N3FJP, AC Log, to be perfect for POTA because the fields can be changed and rearranged.? I tried everything imaginable and could not get the logging program to read the frequency or mode from the radio.? The solution is to use the Xiegu firmware.? R1CBU firmware in not working with N3FJP at this time.? To get the CAT to work, use the Xiegu firmware (not R1CBU firmware), go to Settings on the AC Log and select "Rig Interface..."? From there pick "Icom" as your radio and use a baud rate of 19200.? Select the comport (lower of two numbers) and the usual serial port settings of 8-1-N.? No connection power (RTS, DTR) is needed.? It is interesting to note, both the R1CBU firmware and Xiegu firmware works with WSJT-X when radio selected is Icom IC-7300.

Not sure what group you are talking about , maybe the "Xiegu X6100 owners" FB group.

I think they are trying to prevent spammers from joining so they can post non-X6100 material.

I use different email as listed on QRZ for these FB pages including this one, but I joined long ago without any issue.

Update : i put a pair of headphones on and increased the monitor level to listen to the signal...all i hear is noise with some low level distorted audio in the background...and this issue also occurs when i select the built in mic and press the PTT.
In the beginning i thought it was a faulty hand mic but now that i se that the problem exists even built built in mic , i am starting to believe it is an amplifier issue...

Group Moderator Needed

Good afternoon everyone. When the X6100 group was formed I had one of the first X6100 radios and joined the group. I was also appointed as one of the admins at the time and was not asked if I wanted to do it. I did my best to keep up with the new moderated posts when the other moderator left the group. I was able to find a replacement who handled the admin duties for several months, and I did not leave the group, however I left all admin duties to the person who said they would take over. I recently saw moderated posts asking why their other posts aren't being approved and found out that person sold their x6100 and left the group. If I would have left a year ago we would have nobody moderating the group and doing the admin chores.

Once again, I would like someone to step up if possible and if I can get a hold of the Radioddity staff, I will submit your name to them. Please do not reply to this on the forum, please contact me via email privately. My email is good on QRZ.?
