You can't reduce input POWER, but you can reduce input VOLTAGE to 10V. Don't use a resistor - the current draw is not constant, so you won't get a consistent voltage drop, plus you're just putting the same waste heat somewhere else. Use a DC-DC Buck Converter that can handle at least 5A. They are abundant on the normal online retailers.
