Updating to the latest firmware became a huge headache. After flashing into the X6100 the radio stopped RXing or TXing. All multi-function buttons worked but the TX button would not. Several attempts produced same results. Worked backward to flash in previous firmware versions and finally got to one that restored the regular functions and worked fine. having spent several hours working on this I gave up on doing any things else and just hit the airwaves for the rest of the day.
??????????????? Move forward to the next day¡
I decided to try again and the most current FW version (20230831 [fix cat]) flashed in, loaded up first try and worked mostly great. Everything seems to be working except the external 13.8v power supply is not being recognized by the radio.
This power supply was being used on this radio before the FW update but now the radio is not ¡°seeing¡± it. Tested the power supply and cable ¨C all good. Power supply works great with other radios, just not on the X6100. The standard 110/115v charger works normally on the X6100. When turning on the radio after, the new ¡°power on init ¨C please wait¡± screen goes away the radio momentarily displays 13.8v then drops to 8.0v or below if on battery (as expected) or 12.0v if the wall charger is plugged in (as expected). If the power supply is plugged in it flashes the 13.8v as stated then drops to 8.0v or below. The radio battery voltage then decreases as expected if it were running on battery eventually depleting the battery, even though the external power supply is plugged in, it is just not being recognized by the radio.
Without the X6100 seeing the external power supply I can no longer increase above 5w or work for very long until battery is depleted and I also will not be able to do anymore firmware updates if the instructions require ¡°plug into 13.8w power before attempting FW updates¡±.
Has anyone else experienced this or something similar or anyone have any ideas on why the power supply is not being seen and how to fix it?
