Re: Repeater Down (Update)
开云体育Brian, I just caught up on your emails regarding the repeater. I
can hear it from my QTH but it much weaker than usual. I
did chat briefly with Matt (KD2MGM) on the repeater. He is near
the repeater and offered to help in any way he can. Since Matt had
no trouble hearing me, I think that the problem is with the
transmitter. If it were the antenna, I suspect that he would have
trouble hearing me. Regards, Ned On 12/19/2022 7:19 PM, Brian Donovan

Not that i know much about repeaters but a little surpised the Repeater doesnt have some sort of Hi-SWR foldback to protect the finals.? On Mon, Dec 19, 2022, 7:19 PM Brian Donovan <k2as@...> wrote: I emailed Matt, KD2MGM, since he lives nearby the repeater, and asked he |

I'm hearing other repeaters fine here, SWR is fine.? So I don't think problem is my end.? Anyone else who normally can access it, maybe let me know if you can get in or hear it. So it points to a TX output power issue, antenna or feedline problem.? Unfortunately, probably antenna issue most likely.?? It's been up on the tower more than 6.5 years. So while it may not be completely down, since I don't hear it at all, I'm guessing coverage is very limited, but your mileage may vary.? I might try to disable it through the second receiver, until I can check the antenna/swr. Though I won't be sure whether it works.? I might get Matt to help me out again. Stay tuned. Repeater Down
It appears the 145.29 repeater is down.? I was there briefly last week, and it was working when I left.? This is a busy week, I have family coming in, and not sure what opportunity I will have to get down there.
No idea, could be antenna, power, or repeater itself.? It has a 120V to 13.8V switching supply inside.? The 444.950 machine is up, so unless on different circuits, not likely power problem.? I'll pass along what I find out when I can. Brian |

Re: XARC Dues for 2023
I get the Venmo link on my iPad and when I select it I get a 2D barcode. It’s not intuitive but if you click on the barcode it will open Venmo and take you to the transaction page. It will show a charge of $10.90. The part that annoys me is that Venmo claims that these transactions are supposed to be FREE as long as you are using money in your Venmo wallet (3% fee if you pay with a credit card as the funds source). Where does the 9% fee go? I also have a Venmo business account and I think I only get charged like 1.75% on a transaction plus 30 cents if it’s under a minimum. Even if this is the case with the XARC account, Venmo seems to be charging at least DOUBLE the rate they are supposed to be. Not that 90 cents is a lot, but the principle is aggravating. You can’t even easily find the fee schedule on their site…I just wish they’d be more honest and transparent. Still it is convenient and quick - and that’s where they get you. Sending a check would mean I’d have to get off my butt, make it out, and put a 60 cent stamp on it! I guess I’m officially a grumpy, lazy old man. ?

Re: XARC Dues for 2023
I solved it. The Venmo selection is only available on the desktop site. If you are using a mobile device you wont see the Venmo option. Select Desktop site on your web browser to see the Venmo option. Or just jump on your pc and visit the Xarc webpage. Regards Harry Ramos On Sun, Dec 11, 2022, 12:02 AM Brian Donovan <k2as@...> wrote:

Re: XARC Dues for 2023
开云体育Harry,
Very strange.? I'm seeing it.? I have
no idea at the moment what is going on.? So for all you Venmo
users out there, you may or may not see it on the payment page.
Sorry for that.? I'll see if I can
figure it out, but I'm clueless as to why.? Wondering if PayPal is
using some mechanism that recognizes PayPal users on some devices
and drops the Venmo option?

开云体育This is interesting. I now see three recent PayPal transactions. Bob Karz and Harry Ramos at $10.03 each, and Brian at $9.76. Brian’s may have been an experimental transaction(?) ? Anyways, the actual amount transferred to the club is no longer found on the first screen, one now has to drill down in the Activities screens. The fee amount appears to be ?.87 cents, .86 for Brian’s. Not sure what the metric is, but I can read the actual amount transferred which is all that’s necessary. ? XARC Dues for 2023
开云体育After some delay, we finally have the updated PayPal buttons on the website.
Dues for 2023 were lowered to $10.00, which is good if you write a check or pay cash.? For Online
payments, we will charge $10.90 to cover PayPal's fee.
There is also a Venmo button, which I have no experience with, though I have an account.? If anyone
wants to test it out, let me know how it goes.
If you already paid dues this fall for next year, you can contact Dusty to see about a partial
refund if you wish.
All the info is on the website, including Dusty's info:
To pay by check please make the check ($10.00) out to XRX Amateur Radio Club and mail to: Dusty Kramer180 Carmel Court Webster, NY 14580
