The focus of the discussion was to bring a major WWE premium live event to the city, more specifically a WrestleMania. Prior to the election, the mayor said that if he were to be re-elected, he would do everything in his power to bring certain big sporting events to the city, including WrestleMania. ¡°Delighted to have met with Paul ¡°@TripleH¡± Levesque and @WWE President Nick Khan to discuss making London WrestleMania¡¯s first international destination,¡± Mayor Khan said. ¡°The meeting was really productive. Talks will continue about how we could turn our ambition into a reality.¡± In interviews with the media, Triple H said that they had a good meeting with the mayor and their goal is WrestleMania in London but there are a lot of factors in play, including the weather which is very unpredictable. There are no covered stadiums in England, which complicates the situation. At last year¡¯s Money In The Bank in London, John Cena came out to hype up the crowd and said he was there to try and make WrestleMania in London a reality, a statement which blew the roof off the O2 Arena. WrestleMania has never been held outside of North America. WWE OPEN FOR BROCK LESNAR RETURN- Speaking to The Daily Mail in London after meeting with London mayor Sadiq Khan, Triple H said that the company is open to having Brock Lesnar return. Asked how close is Lesnar to making his WWE return, Triple H said that we'd have to ask Brock Lesnar that question. "Brock does his own thing. He¡¯s up in Canada, I¡¯m sure watching his kids play hockey and enjoying life," he continued. "If and when he decides that he would like to do something, we¡¯d be open to the conversation. But, we¡¯ll see!" The Beast Incarnate has not been seen on WWE television since SummerSlam 2023, losing to Cody Rhodes. His planned return at the Royal Rumble was scrapped after Lesnar was named in the Janel Grant lawsuit against Vince McMahon where he allegedly received several NSFW images and videos of Grant and was even offered Grant for sex in a bid to get him to sign a new WWE deal. ASUKA APPEARS AT OSAKA SHOW- Asuka made an appearance at the non-televised live event yesterday in Osaka, Japan. The former multi-time champion has been off WWE television since Backlash in May and recently underwent knee surgery to repair an injury she had for a while. Asuka obviously didn't do anything physical but cut a promo in the ring and was reunited with Damage CTRL. Asuka walked without crutches. WWE has two more dates in Japan, today and tomorrow both in Tokyo. CODY RHODES GIFTED HIS FATHER'S RED ROBE IN TOKYO- Cody Rhodes shared a special moment in the ring after his main event match at the non-televised live event in Tokyo today. After he defeated AJ Styles to retain the WWE championship, Rhodes was gifted the red robe and hat that his father Dusty wore back in the day. The robe was on display at the Antonio Inoki Exhibition. Fans were pushing for Cody to wear and he obliged, putting the robe, hat, and then did a couple of laps around the ring just like his dad used to do. An emotional Rhodes then got on his knees and kissed the mat as fans cheered. This was after Cody got a young fan who was wearing the traditional Japanese kimono in the ring and gifted her the weight belt and shared a hug with her. You can see it at . DREW MCINTYRE POSTS PHOTO WITH JACK PERRY TO TROLL CM PUNK- Drew McIntyre's feud with CM Punk reached the next level when the former champion posted an unexpected photo with AEW star Jack Perry. "It's a real photo, cry us a river," McIntyre wrote as the caption, obviously referring to Perry's line at All In which eventually led to the backstage brawl which ended CM Punk's short-lived stint in AEW. This is the second time in a few days that McIntyre has trolled CM Punk after a few days ago he posted a photo of Punk's new shirt which has "Clobber McIntyre Punk" in the back. Punk previously said he never had to put another man's name on a shirt to sell. "Aging as well as 'hey Colt Cabana how you doing?'" McIntyre wrote. McIntyre has since deleted the photo with Jack Perry. Punk and McIntyre will meet at SummerSlam with Seth Rollins as the special guest referee. PUNK CREDITS MCMAHON LEAVING FOR WWE RETURN- In an interview with Instinct Culture's Denise Salcedo at San Diego Comic-Con, CM Punk credited the removal of Vince McMahon from WWE as a big reason why he returned to the company late last year. He admitted that there were several things that had to fall into place for him to return, with all the stars aligning and a lot of dominos falling in order. But as luck would have it, everything Punk wanted to clear his way to return, happened. "Vince being out of picture, I think, probably illuminated the way. I think that might have been one of the biggest things," Punk told Salcedo. "And that was both ways. It wasn¡¯t me, it wasn¡¯t him, it was...there¡¯s a lot of history there. All of a sudden, one of us got removed from the equation and it changed a lot of things." Punk said that while they all thought his return would be a big deal for a variety of reasons, no one ever thought it would exceed all expectations and then some. "If WWE was the place it is today back then, I never would have left," Punk said. "All the things that happened and the arguments and the butting of heads, the feeling of being injured and burnt out, and feeling like those in a managerial role weren¡¯t listening, that doesn¡¯t exist in the current atmosphere." Punk is set for his first televised one-on-one match since his return at the upcoming SummerSlam against Drew McIntyre. MEIKO SATOMURA RETIRING NEXT YEAR- Tokyo Sports is reporting that Japanese wrestling legend Meiko Satomura will be retiring from her active wrestling career and will have her final match next year in the Spring. The 44-year-old Satomura is currently under contract with WWE but has rarely appeared since NXT UK closed its doors. She is wrestling with the company as part of the three-day tour in Japan this weekend. A formal announcement of her retirement is forthcoming and her last match might coincide with the 30th's anniversary of her wrestling debut in April. Satomura will be wrestling Bayley for the WWE Women's championship tomorrow night in Tokyo in the last leg of the tour, with Bayley writing that it will be an "absolute honor" to wrestle her. ¡°Feels like I¡¯m having a WrestleMania match 1 week before SummerSlam," Bayley wrote on X. She has teamed up with Bayley, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill against Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane, Dakota Kai, and Tiffany Stratton in the first two shows of the tour. Apart from being under contract with WWE, Satomura runs her own Sendai Girls promotion in Japan. RONDA ROUSEY EXPECTING SECOND CHILD- Ronda Rousey dropped some big news at the San Diego Comic-Con yesterday, announcing that she is expecting her second child with Travis Browne. Rousey made the announcement during a panel to promote her first graphic novel, a panel hosted by former WWE Superstar himself Dave Bautista. Posting later on Instagram, Rousey said that she and Browne are expecting another baby girl. "Happy I can finally shout it from the rooftops, but couldn¡¯t resist revealing it at Comicon where I¡¯d coincidentally be exactly as far along (4 months) as my character 'Mom' is in my new graphic novel Expecting the Unexpected," Rousey wrote. Rousey gave birth to the couple's first daughter in September 2021 and then resumed her WWE in-ring career. She eventually departed WWE in August 2023 and was very critical of the organization under the helm of Vince McMahon. In latest interviews, Rousey expressed hope that the culture in WWE changes under Triple H and the women's division is getting better under his leadership. TBS TITLE MATCH OFFICIAL FOR ALL IN- The TBS title match for All In was made official yesterday with double champion Mercedes Mone defending one of her gold against Britt Baker. The announcement came at the San Diego Comic-Con during the AEW panel with Tony Khan delivering the news. Baker asked for a match on Wednesday at Dynamite but Mone refused and later she was attacked by Kamille. Mone and Kamille showed up at the Comic-Con in style, dressed as Poison Ivy and Bane, two of Batman's biggest villains. They confronted Baker on stage and that led to a brawl, with many AEW stars involved in pulling them apart. Khan then grabbed the mic and said he's sick of this and wants to see the match between the two, announcing the match for All In much to the enjoyment of the crowd. DYNAMITE RATING- Blood & Guts Dynamite drew 768,000 viewers, down 27,000 viewers from the prior week. The show had to face the President Biden address to the nation in the first portion of the broadcast. In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite had a 0.26 rating, down just 0.01 from last week. Cable rankings are not available. Last year's Blood & Guts episode drew 953,000 viewers and a 0.34 rating. Super hardcore matches are not for me, not because I can't handle it, but I don't see the value of someone, for example, stapling someone else's head. What's wrestling got to do with that? The Blood & Guts match was not for me, and it's okay, it was for many others. One thing which really, really bothered me though was the unprotected chair shot to the head of Jack Perry. I don't care if the chair was "gimmicked" or not. That still looked and sounded awful. AEW boasts that it's the safest wrestling company out there. Watching last night, I don't think they're even remotely close to that. ======================================================== //->> NEWS FROM THE WRESTLING-ONLINE NEWSWIRE Web version at TEAM AEW BEATS TEAM ELITE IN BLOOD & GUTS- Team AEW reigned supreme over Team Elite in the five vs five Blood & Guts match, a match which featured a ton of violence, blood, unprotected chair shots, and several "holy shit" moments throughout. The climax of the match came when Jack Perry, part of The Elite, got handcuffed to the steel structure. He got whacked in the head by Mark Briscoe in a very dangerous unprotected chair shot and then was doused with gasoline by Darby Allin. Allin threatened to light Perry up if he didn't quit but then changed his mind and said that he'd set him on fire if he didn't give him a title shot. Perry, in response, spat at Allin. Matthew Jackson decided to end the match and save Perry from being lit up. Allin wasn't interested and said the had to say "I quit" if he wanted to end it. Matthew did just that and the match was finally over. The match had several violent moments, use of weapons, tables, chairs, thumbtacks, scissors, staple guns, and everything else imaginable that made this match not good for anyone with a faint of heart. You can see highlights from the match at . KAMILLE APPEARS ON DYNAMITE- After several months of speculation, Kamille finally made her proper AEW debut last night on the Blood & Guts Dynamite, aligning herself with TBS and NJPW Strong Women's champion Mercedes Mone. After Britt Baker defeated Hikaru Shida on the show, Mercedes Mone came out to confront Baker and refuse her TBS title challenge for All In. With Baker distracted, Kamille came in from behind and took her out with a kick. The former NWA Women's champion continued her attack on Baker, putting her in a torture rack and followed with a powerbomb. The segment ended with Mone and Kamille standing tall over Baker. Kamille signed with the company earlier this year but was not used. She is a former NWA Women's champion who held the title for a whopping 812 days. She had previously appeared on AEW TV in mid-2021 to continue her feud with Leyla Hirsch ahead of their title match on the NWA pay-per-view Empower. MJF REBRANDS THE AEW INTERNATIONAL TITLE- MJF will take on Will Ospreay at the upcoming All In pay-per-view in a rematch from last week's Dynamite and it will be for the AEW International title which was renamed the AEW American title. MJF renamed the title in the opening segment of the show and unveiled a new title after he dropped the AEW International belt in a bin at ringside. Red, white, and blue streamers and a large American flag, with his face instead of stars, then dropped over the ring. Will Ospreay interrupted the party and informed MJF that he got himself a rematch on his home soil and then took out the International title from the trash. This is the fourth match on the AEW All In card after Darby Allin vs Jack Perry for the TNT title was also announced. The other two are Swerve Strickland vs Bryan Danielson for the AEW World title and Toni Storm vs Mariah May for the AEW Women's title. BRYAN DANIELSON SAYS AEW DEAL IS UP ON AUGUST 1- In an interview with Renee Paquette, Bryan Danielson revealed that his AEW contract is up next week on August 1, weeks before he is set to take on Swerve Strickland for the AEW World title at All In. Danielson said that when he came to AEW in 2021, he decided along with his wife that this would be his last wrestling contract that he was going to sign. "Part of me is wondering what life is like after this, you know? Part of me is excited about that," Danielson told Paquette. "But even though Wembley is after this, I still have to focus on that." Danielson called this "a wild time" and while he is expected to still remain part of AEW in some way, shape, or form, his in-ring career will be greatly reduced. In a recent interview, Tony Khan said that he hoped Danielson stayed with AEW for a long time even after he stops his wrestling career. WWE LOOKING TO LOCK CM PUNK IN A LONGER DEAL- PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE has initiated new contract talks with CM Punk less than a year into his current three-year deal with the company. The website states that the company is looking to lock in Punk's services with a bigger deal than he currently has based on the big ratings, merchandise, and social media numbers he is pulling. It was stressed that this was something that WWE has started and not Punk himself. Punk is said to be extremely happy in WWE and is a completely different man from the last time he was in the company. The former WWE and AEW champion has been mentoring others and also pops down at NXT from time to time. The Chicago native made his surprise return to WWE in November of last year at the Survivor Series, just months after he was fired from AEW. NXT RATING- NXT this week drew 633,000 viewers, up 23,000 viewers from the prior week. The show had a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 0.01 from the previous week. No cable rankings are available as of press time. NXT moves to SyFy from next week for two weeks due to the Olympics. (Ratings credit: Wrestlenomics) MVP REFLECTS ON WWE STINT AHEAD OF DEPARTURE- With his time in WWE coming to an end, MVP reflected on his latest run in a post on Instagram. MVP has not been used on WWE television in a few months after Omos was also taken out and is on his way out along with his former Hurt Business partner Bobby Lashley. "I came back so my baby boy could see 'Daddy' in a WWE ring. The Royal Rumble. That¡¯s all I wanted. A one off. I was ready to retire," MVP wrote. He said he then received an offer to become a producer and the pandemic hit and all of a sudden he was a producer and a commentator for Main Event. "Next, they asked me to put the boots on and help out with TV during the 'PC Era.' One episode of RAW, MVP was in NINE segments," he continued. MVP added that afterward, "Heyman agreed" to put him and Bobby Lashley together and signed a full-time talent contract. "And then we made history. What a ride," he concluded. ======================================================== ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================================== |

The five-on-five double ring/cage match will headline tonight's broadcast, with Team AEW vs Team Elite. Representing Team AEW are Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe, Darby Allin, and The Acclaimed while Team Elite includes Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, Kazuchika Okada, Hangman Adam Page, and Jack Perry. Also set for tonight are Britt Baker vs Hikaru Shida, Chris Jericho defends his FTW title against Minoru Suzuki, the debut of Mariah May's "The Glamour," and we'll also hear from MJF. TONY KAHN ON AEW/WWE SUPERSHOW: "I WOULD LOVE IF THAT WERE POSSIBLE"- Appearing on The Rich Eisen show, AEW President Tony Khan said that he would "love if it were possible" to have a joint AEW and WWE supershow. "I don't know if it is (possible), but it would be great if it was possible for the fans," Khan said answering the question of what are the chances of something like this happening. "There are challenging business things in the world of pro wrestling that I think would make that a very challenging thing to do," Khan then admitted. This declaration comes a few months after Khan labeled WWE as the evil juggernaut, the enemy they're at war with, and the "Harvey Weinstein of professional wrestling" in an interview on the NFL Network during the NFL draft. COLLISION RATING- Collision had a nice big bump in the viewership this past Saturday, drawing 472,000 viewers, up 110,000 from the prior week. The show had a 0.15 rating in 18-49, up 0.01 from the previous show. This was the most-watched episode since May 18. (Ratings credit: Wrestlenomics) MELISSA SANTOS JOINS AEW- Melissa Santos has joined All Elite Wrestling as the newest member of the broadcast team and will be doing announcing and backstage interviews. "Did you miss me? Thank you @aew for the opportunity and to those who helped make this happen. Grateful. Now let¡¯s get to work," Santos wrote on Instagram. The 40-year-old star worked for Women of Wrestling and Lucha Underground in the past. She also had a stint with TNA in 2019. Santos is the wife of AEW star Brian Cage. ROYAL RAMPAGE RETURNING THIS WEEK- The Royal Rampage match will be returning this Friday with the winner receiving an AEW World title match at the Dynamite: Grand Slam episode from Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 25. The match was announced by AEW President Tony Khan on X. The Rampage episode will be taped tonight immediately following the conclusion of Blood & Guts Dynamite and will air this Friday on TNT. There have only been two Royal Rampage matches in the past, one in 2022 and one in 2023. Brody King won the first one while Darby Allin won the second one and a TNT title shot in the process. NXT TITLE MATCH SET FOR GREAT AMERICAN BASH- The main event of night two of The Great American Bash was set last night on NXT with NXT champion Ethan Page defending his title against Oro Mensah. The contract signing will be held next week on night one of The GAB. This is the only match so far announced for night two. Both episodes will air on SyFy due to the Olympics coverage on USA Network. Night one will be headlined by Roxanne Perez defending the NXT Women's champion against Thea Hail. Another title match will take place, with Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn vs Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson for the WWE Women's Tag Team titles and then Tony D'Angelo defends his NXT Heritage cup against Tavion Heights. JOE HENDRY CONCERT AT THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH- Wrestling fan favorite Joe Hendry will be appearing on night one of NXT Great American Bash next week live from the WWE PC in Orlando. The TNA Wrestling star will host a "concert" for the fans as WWE and TNA continue their partnership with talents crossing over. Hendry so far is the only TNA star announced for the show although it would not be a surprise if more are added. A three-minute video on Hendry aired on NXT last night, with TNA plugging it writing, "The world believes in @joehendry!" All the cars at the NXT parking lot were also left with flyers of Hendry advertising next week's concert. Gallus' car received extra flyers, enough to cover the whole windshield! RAW RATING- Monday Night Raw this week drew 1,793,000 viewers, up 124,000 viewers from the previous week which had competition from the Home Run Derby. No hourly viewership are available as of press time. In the 18-49 demo, Raw drew a 0.59 rating, up 0.03 from the prior week. No cable chart rankings are available either. Raw moves to SyFy from next week for two weeks due to the Olympics coverage on USA Network and numbers are expected to take a hit with the change of channel. (Ratings credit: Wrestlenomics) DAMIAN PRIEST ADDRESSES NOT KICKING OUT AT MITB- Speaking to the New York Post in a story published today, WWE World Heavyweight champion Damian Priest addressed for the first time the situation from Money In The Bank, where he did not kick out after he was pinned by Seth Rollins and the referee actually had to break the count to prevent a title change. Priest was the subject of many ridicule online for the botch, with many online commentators saying that he forgot to kick out. "The idea that I forgot to kick out, that¡¯s not a thing. That¡¯s not a thing. We don¡¯t forget to kick out," Priest told the NY Post. "Twenty years in, I¡¯m pretty sure there is some kind of muscle memory there." Priest said that this was not a case of him forgetting and there was nothing outside that was supposed to happen. "It was a matter of there was a situation, but I¡¯m OK. Everybody¡¯s fine, the story continues," Priest said. The NY Post noted that the champion did not want to get into anything medical around the situation, saying it was personal. "It doesn¡¯t affect anything," Priest continued. "The show goes on and I think fans are very invested in everything that¡¯s going on. The ones that matter knew the situation and nobody thought twice about it. It was, move on." WWE SIGNS AUSTRALIAN STAR DELTA- Fightful Wrestling's Corey Brennan reports through the Select service that WWE has signed Australian star Delta to a deal. Delta, who was one of the standout stars at the tryouts during Elimination Chamber week in Perth, is believed to have been signed for a while but was allowed to finish her remaining indie dates and is expected to report to the WWE Performance Center in the next few weeks. Also known as Delta Brady, the Aussie has been wrestling professionally since late 2020 for Melbourne City Wrestling and Riot City Wrestling. Delta wrestled her last match in Australia - against her brother - on July 6 at RCW's Heavy Is The Crown event. ======================================================== ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================================== |

Jesus H!! How can I get Dom Mysterio's job? ======================================================== //->> NEWS FROM THE WRESTLING-ONLINE NEWSWIRE Web version at TWO MATCHES ADDED TO SUMMERSLAM- Two new matches were announced for SummerSlam last night on Raw, including CM Punk's first singles televised match in WWE since his return at the Survivor Series last year. Punk, who is now cleared for action after six months out, will be taking on his nemesis Drew McIntyre on the show. The match will also have the involvement of Seth Rollins, who while not wrestling, will be the special guest referee for the match. The former WWE and AEW champion suffered a triceps injury at the Rumble and has been out of action ever since. Apart from two non-televised singles matches, Punk has only been in the ring on TV at the Rumble. Also announced last night was a match for the Intercontinental title, with Sami Zayn defending his gold against Bron Breakker in a rematch from Money In The Bank. Breakker earned his spot after he beat Ilja Dragunov via referee stoppage last night on Raw. Zayn beat Breakker in their first one-on-one encounter. RAW MOVES TO SYFY FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS- With the Olympics starting this weekend, USA Network will be focusing on the coverage from Paris and the Olympics will take priority over every other broadcast on NBCUniversal's network. For the next two weeks starting on July 29, WWE Raw will broadcast on SyFy, which also means the post-SummerSlam fallout will also be on SyFy instead of the more popular USA Network. Raw and NXT ratings suffer a bit when they are moved from USA Network and NXT will also air on SyFy for the next two weeks starting next week. NXT will have a two-night Great American Bash to try and soften the blow. SMACKDOWN RATING- Smackdown last week drew 2,313,000 viewers, down 42,000 viewers from the prior week. In 18-49, Smackdown had a 0.65 rating, down 0.05 from the previous show and was #1 on network television by more than doubling the nearest competitor and was #1 in overall in all of TV. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider) LASHLEY AND MVP BELIEVED TO BE HEADING OUT- Former two-time WWE champion Bobby Lashley and MVP are expected to leave WWE when their contracts expire very, very soon. The news was originally broken by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful and also confirmed by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer. Lashley's contract is over in a matter of weeks and will not sign a new one. He has not wrestled since May 5, winning against Santos Escobar at a non-televised live event in France. His last televised appearance was on April 12 when he lost a triple threat match against LA Knight and Santos Escobar on Smackdown. MVP recently wrote in public that Triple H did not want to reassemble The Hurt Business and the company had no interest in going that direction. He too has not appeared on television in months after Omos was taken off TV as well. The Hurt Business reuniting somewhere else is not a far-fetched idea. Shelton Benjamin, a former member of the group, remains a free agent, although Cedric Alexander is still part of WWE wrestling for NXT. WWE SUPERSTARS IN JAPAN FOR TOUR- WWE Superstars and crew traveled to Japan after Raw last night and will be in town until Saturday night as they perform in three non-televised live events. After a couple of days off and sightseeing, the first event will be on Thursday in Osaka at the Edion Arena. It is followed by two back-to-back shows on Friday and Saturday in Tokyo and the Ryogoku Kokugikan. The event on Friday in Tokyo is sold out and the other two have sold really well. It's the company's first tour in the Land of the Rising Sun in five years. Due to the tour, this Friday's Smackdown has already been taped last week. RHODES AND RIPLEY LEAD FANATICS FEST SALES- Tons of sports personalities, athletes, and other celebrities will be part of the first-ever Fanatics Fest in New York City next month and with WWE being a big part of Fanatics, several WWE Superstars and Legends will be on hand for the three-day event. While other MLB, NBA, NFL stars will be appearing, Cody Rhodes was the hottest ticket in town and sold the most tickets. Second most popular overall? None other than mami herself, Rhea Ripley! Scheduled to be part of the Fanatics Fest apart from Rhodes and Ripley from WWE's side are Hulk Hogan, LA Knight, Bayley, Tiffany Stratton, Liv Morgan, Rey Mysterio, Drew McIntyre, Paul Heyman, The Miz, Bianca Belair, Jey Uso, Jade Cargill, and CM Punk. Charlotte Flair was also scheduled to be there at one point but here appearance was pulled. For more information and to buy tickets go to . DAMIAN PRIEST LIVE AT SUMMERSLAM WEEKEND- Another live event has been added to the SummerSlam weekend, with Damian Priest Live set to take place at Noon ET on Friday, August 2 at The Agora Cleveland. The event will feature the screening of the WWE 24 documentary on Priest and a live panel discussion afterwards along with Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio. This is the third show at The Agora Cleveland as Sami Zayn will take the stage later in the night for his comedy show and then The Undertaker will host his 1deadMAN SHOW the following day. Tickets for Damian Priest Live go on sale tomorrow, July 24 at 10AM ET at agoracleveland.com and are priced $43 to $63. DYNAMITE TO GO HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH BIDEN'S ADDRESS- Tomorrow's episode of Dynamite's Blood & Guts got some unexpected heavy competition on U.S. television. President Biden announced that tomorrow evening at 8PM ET, he will address the nation from the Oval Office on his decision to drop from the U.S. presidential race and what lies ahead. Biden's address will go head-to-head with Dynamite on TBS although the Blood & Guts match will start in the second hour of the show, long after Biden's speech will conclude. However, news and commentary is expected to dominate the airwaves after Biden is done with his speech which will probably eat into AEW's viewership. All shows from next week will get additional competition in the form of the 2024 Olympics from Paris, France. RAMPAGE RATING- Rampage had just 284,000 viewers last Friday on TNT, down 55,000 viewers from the prior week. This was the lowest number since June 7. The show had a 0.10 rating in 18-49, down 0.02 from last week. No cable rankings are available for Rampage at this time. (Ratings credit: Wrestlenomics) AEW TEAMS UP WITH SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE- AEW announced that it is partnering with Southland Conference sports league to present custom AEW World title belts to winners of upcoming Southland Conference Tournaments in multiple sports throughout the rest of the year. The AEW/SLC title presentation will take place at every SLC Championship event. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR will be appearing for a special message tomorrow on Southland Football Opening Drive on ESPN+ at 11AM. The Southland Conference was founded in 1963 and comprises 12 schools within a driving range of the states of Louisiana and Texas. The conference has produced countless players who have made major impacts on the NCAA, NFL and MLB, with many capturing championships and awards. COLLISION TO AVOID SUMMERSLAM NEXT WEEK- The Collision set for August 3 will not air head-to-head with SummerSlam but will instead hit the airwaves at 5PM ET. Collision has suffered greatly when going against WWE premium live events in the past, with the latest one against Money In The Bank drawing only 306,000 viewers. The show will not be live either as AEW will tape this episode of Collision on Thursday, August 1 at the Esports Stadium in Arlington as part of its month-long residency. ======================================================== ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================================== |

He's super over at the moment and is getting extra exposure on NXT. He would have benefitted from it for sure. ======================================================== //->> NEWS FROM THE WRESTLING-ONLINE NEWSWIRE Web version at SLAMMIVERSARY 2024 RESULTS- Here are the results from last night's Slammiversary 2024 pay-per-view which took place from the Verdun Auditorium in Montreal, Canada. PRE-SHOW: Tasha Steelz defeated Faby Apache, Gisele Shaw, and Xia Brookside in a four-way match; Kushida defeated Rich Swann; Alisha Edwards and Masha Slamovich defeated Dani Luna and Jody Threat to retain the TNA Knockouts Tag Team titles; Eric Young defeated Hammerstone. PPV: Matt Hardy defeated JDC; Ace Austin and Chris Bey defeated Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards to retain the TNA Tag Team titles; Mike Santana defeated Jake Something; Trey Miguel, Wes Lee, and Zachary Wentz defeated Charlie Dempsey, Myles Borne, and Tavion Heights in a six-man tag team match; PCO defeated A.J. Francis in a Montreal Street Fight to become the new TNA Digital Media champion; Jordynne Grace defeated Ash by Elegance to retain the TNA Knockouts title; Mike Bailey defeated Mustafa Ali to become the new TNA X Division champion; Nic Nemeth defeated Moose, Josh Alexander, Steve Maclin, Frankie Kazarian, and Joe Hendry in a six-way elimination match to become the new TNA World champion. NIC NEMETH WINS TNA WORLD TITLE- Nic Nemeth won his first major singles title in TNA, winning the TNA World title in the six-way elimination main event match. Nemeth took the match after pinning Frankie Kazarian last, with perhaps not the biggest pop as fans were disappointed that Joe Hendry was previously eliminated. Steve Maclin was eliminated first by Moose and then Moose was taken out by Joe Hendry, ensuring that a new champion will be crowned by the end of the match. Hendry's celebration was short-lived as he was eliminated by Josh Alexander a minute later. Alexander was pinned by Nemeth after a superkick and Frankie Kazarian then ate a Danger Zone by Nemeth to end the match. This is Nemeth's first title in TNA Wrestling, seven months after he made his debut for the company at the Hard to Kill pay-per-view in Las Vegas. Moose's title reign lasted 190 days this time around, winning the title at the Hard to Kill PPV in January. SKY BLUE SUFFERS ANKLE INJURY DURING COLLISION- Sky Blue suffered an ankle injury last night on Collision and her match against Hikaru Shida was stopped by the referee. The injury occurred when Shida performed a crossbody from the second rope to the outside where Blue was ready to catch her, but Shida landed on Blue's right ankle. Blue immediately clutched her ankle and the referee was quick to notice the injury, followed protocol, and quickly halted the match. Blue had to be carried to the back as she couldn't put on any weight on her injured ankle. AEW President Tony Khan later said that she was being evaluated by doctors backstage. DALTON CASTLE OUT FOR REST OF 2024- Dalton Castle has been removed from the Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view for next week due to an injury which will keep him out for the rest of 2024. Castle wrestled Roderick Strong last week on Collision and was on the receiving end of a flying knee which knocked him out completely. Strong went for the pin and Castle never kicked out but the referee stopped the count at two as that was not the finisher. After realizing what happened, there was a three count, and all of this was edited off the final product since luckily for them this was a taped show. AEW President Tony Khan made the change of plans announcement for the ROH PPV. "Sadly, Dalton will be out of action for the remainder of 2024. Get well soon DC," Khan wrote on X. MARUFUJI TO DO COMMENTARY FOR SUMMERSLAM IN JAPAN- Pro Wrestling NOAH's Naomichi Marufuji will be serving as a special guest commentator on the Japanese feed of WWE SummerSlam which will air on the ABEMA streaming platform. The announcement was made by NOAH's X account saying that Marufuji will be doing the live commentary for the show. He will not be in Cleveland as localized commentary is done in studio in each country. Marufuji recently wrestled AJ Styles at the NOAH Destination 2024 event, a match which Styles won. NXT's Josh Briggs and Tavion Heights will soon travel to Japan as well to wrestle in the N1 Victory tournament for NOAH, which is the equivalent of the G1 Climax tournament NJPW holds every year. EBOOK VERSION OF RONDA ROUSEY'S OUR FIGHT ON SALE- The electronic version of Ronda Rousey's Our Fight book is on sale for $3.99 for today only. Released in April of this year with 288 pages, Our Fight chronicles Rousey's greatest challenge of her life and, ultimately, how she rebuilt her life into something better in the aftermath. The synopsis reads, "Rousey recounts how she replaced her pursuit of perfection with the pursuit of happiness and found an opportunity in disguise amongst the wreckage. Following Rousey¡¯s relatable journey, Our Fight is a courageous narrative of career changes, marriage, motherhood, and facing your fears." In the book, Rousey has a lot of stories from her UFC and WWE days, stories which were in particular very critical of WWE and its former chairman Vince McMahon. The $3.99 ebook price is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Apple Books. ======================================================== ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================================== |

The pay-per-view will start at 8PM ET while the pre-show will kick off an hour earlier and airs free on TNA+. JONATHAN GRESHAM PULLED FROM SLAMMIVERSARY- Jonathan Gresham has been pulled from the TNA Slammiversary pay-per-view for tonight with TNA announcing he is unable to compete. Gresham was set to take on Kushida in the pre-show and now he has been replaced by Rich Swann, with the match still to take place on the Countdown to Slammiversary pre-show. No reason was given as to why the former ROH World champion was taken off the card as of this writing. This match is one of the three taking place on the pre-show which kicks off at 7PM ET and airing live and free on TNA+. JINDER MAHAL MAKES SURPRISE DEBUT AT GCW SHOW- Former WWE champion Jinder Mahal, now using the name of Raj "The Maharaja" Dhesi, made his debut at the GCW So High event last night. Dhesi wore a mask as he came in to attack Effy and after he hit his finisher, The Khallas, unmasked himself. This was Dhesi's first post-WWE appearance as his 90-day no-compete clause expired. He was released from the company in April with a few other Superstars at the time, ending his long association with WWE. COLLISION RESIDENCY AT ESPORTS STADIUM STARTS TONIGHT- AEW will start its Collision and ROH residency at the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with tonight's broadcast. This residency, announced a few months ago, will be a month-long affair and will end with the August 17 episode. This residency is being dubbed as the AEW Path To All In Summer Series and the company is paying a total of $232,000 for all shows, a figure which will be offset by some credits that the city of Arlington is paying. It was meant to be a cost-cutting decision since the company has been having trouble selling tickets to Collision while on tour. Each week, the Esports Stadium is set up for around 1,000 seats and for tonight's premiere episode, AEW has managed to sell 1,054 tickets in a 1,171 setup according to @WrestleTix. Tickets for the shows start at just $20 from etix.com. Next Friday's Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view from Ring of Honor will also take place from the Esports Stadium and so will the next several weeks of ROH TV tapings. MJF TO DEFEND AEW INTERNATIONAL TITLE IN CMLL- New AEW International champion MJF will be making his CMLL debut next month when he defends his title on August 2. MJF made the announcement via a video that was played yesterday in the arena. He was shown sitting in a tub with the title by his side, saying that as the new AEW International champion, he was going to help the world and take his title challenges internationally, starting with those "masked morons" in Mexico. The 28-year-old won the AEW International title this past Wednesday on Dynamite in a one-hour match against Will Ospreay, pinning the Brit with two seconds remaining on the clock. ======================================================== ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================================== |

Hulk Hogan came out on stage waving an American flag wearing a jacket, red bandana, and a Hogan t-shirt and gave a rousing speech. "What happened last week when they took a shot at my hero," Hogan said as he removed the jacket. "And they tried to kill the next President of the United States, enough was enough and I said let Trumpamania run wild brother!" At this point, Hogan tore off his t-shirt to reveal a Trump/Vance 2024 red shirt with the crowd going crazy. "Let Trumpamania rule again, let Trumpamania make America great again," he continued as the speech reached its climax. Trump loved it, smiled, waved, and even blew a kiss to Hogan. After the convention, Hogan stopped by FOX News to discuss his speech, saying he decided to make a move after the assassination attempt. FOX News ran a lower third headline with the words, "Hulk Hogan brings the house down at RNC." Linda McMahon also made a speech at the convention. McMahon chairs the America First Action, a pro-Trump Super PAC who has raised millions of dollars for his re-election. She is a former Trump cabinet member and one of his biggest donors with over $10 million donated so far. If Trump is re-elected, McMahon is rumored to get another cabinet or high-level position in his administration. Meanwhile, UFC President Dana White, a big supporter of Trump, gave a five-minute speech before he introduced Trump to the stage. White said Trump approached him a few weeks ago and asked him if he would be willing to speak and introduce him while also apologizing for interrupting his family vacation. You can see clips at . NXT STARS AT SLAMMIVERSARY- NXT stars will be part of tomorrow's TNA Slammiversary pay-per-view live from Montreal. Wes Lee will join The Rascalz in a six-man tag team match as they face off with No Quarter Catch Crew members Charlie Dempsey, Myles Borne, and Tavion Heights. NXT's last premium live event did not feature any TNA stars but the show ended with an image of Joe Hendry, who has since made multiple appearances on NXT. TNA Knockouts champion Jordynne Grace has gone on record saying that there are some awesome surprises in store at Slammiversary, some of which also involving NXT. MATT HARDY TO WORK GCW SHOWS- Matt Hardy will be working multiple dates for GCW and will make his debut for the promotion in a couple of weeks at the August 2 show. The show, Now and Forever, will take place in Cleveland, Ohio, on the eve of WWE's SummerSlam. "This is more than just one appearance for me in GCW. So we¡¯re going to do a multi-show deal, and it¡¯s going to be exciting," Matt said on his latest episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast. Matt added that once people will realize who will be wrestling on the show, they "are going to go even more nuts." Hardy noted that this is going to lead into some other stuff which is going to be really cool. "I¡¯m very much looking forward to it. And, surprisingly, I was pretty pumped about how positive the feedback was. Seems like it¡¯s going to be a win-win so far," he said. Although lately a regular with TNA Wrestling, Matt is a free agent, just like his brother Jeff. That was certainly something!! Maybe Ospreay is moving on to bigger things for All In at Wembley? ======================================================== //->> NEWS FROM THE WRESTLING-ONLINE NEWSWIRE Web version at MJF WINS AEW INTERNATIONAL TITLE IN A ONE-HOUR MATCH- Dynamite 250 started with a big bang, and no, we're not talking about Sheldon Cooper of the Dynamite lead-in Big Bang Theory, but a near one-hour match that saw a new champion crowned. AEW International champion Will Ospreay wrestled MJF in the opening match of the show, and MJF won with 59:58 on the clock, just two seconds before the match was about to be stopped for the 60-minute time limit. The finish saw MJF, now back as a heel, hit the British star with his Dynamite Diamond ring after a ref bump and covering him for the pinfall. This is MJF's first run with the AEW International title, ending Ospreay's 52-day reign. MJF was held up by a couple of people as doctors put an oxygen mask on him as he celebrated with the title for a great visual. TEAM AEW FOR BLOOD & GUTS COMPLETE- The remaining three individuals for Team AEW in the Blood & Guts match were announced last night on Dynamite. Max Caster and Anthony Bowens pleaded their case to be added to the match with ROH World champion Mark Briscoe in a backstage segment. While Briscoe agreed, it was not just up to him, and right at that moment, AEW World champion Swerve Strickland came in to give his blessing. And as expected, Darby Allin was the fifth and final guy to join Team AEW in their war against The Elite. In the show-closing angle, The Elite brawled with the four members of Team AEW before Allin came down from the rafters like Sting to even the odds. The match will take place next Wednesday live on Dynamite from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. UNIFIED AEW TRIOS TITLE MATCH SET FOR COLLISION- After the Unified AEW Trios titles were declared vacant last week on Collision when Christopher Daniels stripped The Bang Bang Gang off their gold due to Jay White's injury, a match to determine the new champions was announced for this week's Collision. The match will feature Christian Cage, Killswitch, and Nick Wayne take on Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, and Juice Robinson, with the winners getting both the AEW and ROH Trios/Six-Man tag team titles. The Bang Bang Gang tried to invoke the Freebird Rule last week in a bid to have Juice Robinson replace Jay White due to his injury but Daniels didn't want any of that, ending their 83-day reign. The ROH Six-Man Tag Team titles and the AEW Trios titles were unified at the Dynasty Zero Hour show, with White and The Gunns defeating The Acclaimed. The Acclaimed had been AEW Trios champions for 238 days. SLAMMIVERSARY PRESS CONFERENCE TODAY- TNA Wrestling will hold a Slammiversary press conference today starting at 4:20PM ET live at the Verdun Auditorium in Montreal. Stars such as Joe Hendry, Jordynne Grace, Mike Bailey, AJ Francis, and Montreal's own PCO will be participating. Josh Mathews of TNA Wrestling and Kevin Raphael of TVA Sports will be co-hosting the event. Fans are free to attend and the first 50 to enter will receive a special Slammiversary souvenir. The press conference will stream on TNA's digital platforms. SUMMERSLAM SURPASSES 47,000 TICKETS- With less than 20 days to go for the show, SummerSlam 2024 at the Cleveland Browns Stadium is up to over 47,000 tickets distributed according to @WrestleTix. The stadium seating has been expanded to over 55,000 now, with sections on the hard cam section now being opened. WWE was only set to use the north part of the stadium, with the south part being closed. But sections in the 100 and 200 level on the south end of the stadium have now been opened to accommodate for the demand. It's good to note that the floor area remains largely unsold, with two of the sections surrounding the ring all pretty much open for sale with tickets at $2,500 for ringside. The prices for the new opened sections start from $150 and can be purchased from Ticketmaster.com. HULK HOGAN TO SPEAK AT THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION- MSNBC is reporting that WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan will be speaking at the Republican National Convention tonight ahead of former President Donald Trump's speech. Trump, who will be accepting the Republican nomination to face President Joe Biden in the upcoming November U.S. elections, is friends with Hogan and the two got to know each other in the late 80s when Trump worked with the then WWF to host WrestleMania IV and V at his Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The Republican National Convention comes a few days after Trump, a WWE Hall of Famer himself, survived an assassination attempt this past weekend while speaking at a Pennsylvania rally. NXT RATING- This week's NXT drew 610,000 viewers, down 46,000 viewers from the prior week. The show had a 0.20 rating in 18-49, down 0.04 from last week and had a share of its audience lost to the MLB All-Star game which had around 7.5 million viewers and a 1.58 rating in 18-49. (Ratings credit: Wrestlenomics) WWE CROSSOVER WITH CALL OF DUTY VIDEO GAME UNVEILED- The trailer for season five of the massively popular game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been published and it features a WWE crossover. Playable starting on July 24, the WWE crossover will feature several WWE Superstars who are transformed into playable characters in the game. The trailer features Rhea Ripley as a badass operator, first starting out with a sledgehammer and then getting her hands on an automatic weapon. Several wrestling moves are seen being used in the trailer, including the Cross Rhodes, elbow drop, the punt, etc. You can see the trailer at MEIKO SATOMURA TO WORK WWE JAPAN TOUR- Japanese legend Meiko Satomura announced that she will be participating in the upcoming WWE tour in Japan, wrestling all three dates. Satomura, who is still under a WWE contract, has not wrestled for the company since March 7, 2023, losing to Roxanne Perez in a title match at NXT Roadblock. She was previously part of the NXT UK roster before NXT UK was closed down. The former NXT UK Women's champion will be teaming up with Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair to take on Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky, and Kairi Sane in six-woman tag team matches. The WWE tour in Japan kicks off on July 25 with a show in Osaka and then two back-to-back shows in Tokyo on July 26 and 27. GREAT AMERICAN BASH EXPANDED TO TWO NIGHTS- The Great American Bash will be a two-night affair on USA Network, with WWE announcing last night that both nights will air on SyFy. Originally scheduled for August 6 only, The Great American Bash will now start a week before on July 30. With USA Network showing coverage of the 2024 Olympics, both nights will be on SyFy instead. The 2020 and 2021 episodes of NXT's version of the GAB were two nights, but then they went back to one night in 2022 and last year. Last year's show was actually a premium live event from the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Texas. PEREZ VS HAIL OFFICIAL FOR GAB- The first match for The Great American Bash NXT special was announced last night with NXT Women's champion Roxanne Perez taking on Thea Hail. It is currently unknown on which night this match will air since the GAB is now over two nights, on July 30 and August 6. During their in-ring segment, the champion said that she's competing with the ones in the history books rather than those in the current NXT locker room, namedropping Charlotte Flair. Perez said that Flair made her first televised appearance 13 years ago and is now a 14-time champion and she will go on to break all her records. Flair responded to Perez, telling she almost got it right since it's been 11 years, and not 13. "Keep doing your thing. We will meet in the ring one day¡ªI¡¯m sure of it," Flair wrote. ======================================================== ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================================== |

Ripley, who never lost the title but had to vacate it due to an injury, opened up Raw last night with one thing in mind - and that wasn't Dom Mysterio! The popular Australian Superstar vowed to end Morgan's revenge tour, title reign, and career at SummerSlam. Ripley was part of a show-long angle with Dom Mysterio, with Mysterio channeling his inner Eddie Guerrero by trying to get back on Mami's good side. THE CREED BROTHERS ALIGN WITH CHAD GABLE- Chad Gable might have lost Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Maxxine Dupri but the former leader of the Alpha Academy has got two new backups in the form of The Creed Brothers. The collaboration between the two have been teased for quite a while now and came true on Raw last night, when The Creed Brothers came out to help Gable in his fight against Bo Dallas. The segment saw Gable attack Dallas but Dallas kept laughing until the lights went out, the fireflies came out, smoke filled the ring, and the rest of the Wyatt Sicks made their way out to the ring. Gable and The Creeds escaped the ring and then Dallas and the rest of his faction posed in the middle of the ring. SMACKDOWN RATING- Smackdown this past Friday drew 2,355,000 viewers, up 99,000 viewers from the previous week and the best number since April 12. The show had a 0.70 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 0.04 from the prior week and was #1 on all of television for the night. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider) SAMI ZAYN COMEDY SHOW ADDED TO SUMMERSLAM WEEKEND- A Sami Zayn comedy show, titled Sami Zayn & Friends Do Cleveland, has been added to the SummerSlam weekend and will take place on Friday, August 2 at 11PM after Smackdown. It will be held at The Agora, the same location where The Undertaker will also host his 1deadMAN SHOW the following day on the afternoon prior to SummerSlam. This is the second Sami Zayn comedy show that is part of a WWE premium live event weekend, with WWE trying it out at Money in the Bank in Toronto last month. That show had Cody Rhodes, Bayley, and Johnny Knoxville appear. Tickets for this new show go on sale to the general public tomorrow at 10AM ET at AgoraCleveland.com. They are priced $48 to $78. A limited number of meet and greet tickets with Zayn for the post show will also be available. JELLY ROLL TO PERFORM AT SUMMERSLAM- SummerSlam will have two official theme songs, Dead End Road and Liar, both performed by Jelly Roll. WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" asked Jelly Roll on X if he was free on Saturday, August 3, to play some songs for WWE fans in Cleveland. "Sounds like a good time to me, Bubba. I¡¯ll have my people call your people," Jelly Roll replied. Jelly Roll is not new to WWE and was part of an angle on Monday Night Raw last November lending a helping hand to Randy Orton. The 39-year-old had a breakout year in 2023, winning the Country Music Association Awards New Artist of the Year and also won the Male Video of the Year, Male Breakthrough Video of the Year, and Digital-First Performance of the Year at the 2023 CMT Music Awards. He was also nominated in the Best New Artist and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for the 2024 Grammy Awards. DOUBLE SMACKDOWN TAPING THIS FRIDAY- Fans attending this Friday's Smackdown in Omaha, Nebraska will be in for a long night as WWE will be taping next week's episode of the show immediately following the conclusion of the live broadcast on FOX. The reason for the two back-to-back tapings is because next week, WWE will spend Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in Japan for three SuperShows in Osaka and Tokyo. The trip to Japan will start after Raw next Monday. With top Superstars from both set of rosters on the tour, it won't be possible to run a parallel, live broadcast of Smackdown when half the crew is on the other side of the world. The July 27 non-televised live event from Tokyo is sold out, with the other two shows selling very well too. WWE returns live with Raw from St Paul, Minnesota on July 29. NXT PREVIEW- Tonight's NXT is headlined with The Rascalz reunion for a six-man tag team match against Gallus which will be the first time in over four years that the trio of Zachary Wentz, Wes Lee, and Trey Miguel will be wrestling together. This is also Wentz's first match in NXT since he was fired two years ago, just days after winning the NXT Tag Team titles at Stand & Deliver with Lee. Also on tonight's show, Oba Femi puts the NXT North American title on the line against Duke Hudson, The O.C. take on OTM in a six-person mixed tag team match, Izzi Dame vs Tatum Paxley, and NXT Women's champion Roxanne Perez will be in the house for a promo as well. RAMPAGE RATING- Rampage on Friday night on TNT drew 339,000 viewers, up 30,000 viewers from the prior week and the best number since May 18. The show had a 0.12 rating in 18-49, up 0.02 from the previous episode and was #7 on the top 50 cable chart for the night. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider) JANEL GRANT'S ATTORNEYS FILE PETITION IN RELATION TO MCMAHON LAWSUIT- Attorneys for Janel Grant have filed a pre-action discovery petition in Connecticut court against Peak Wellness Inc. and its CEO, Dr. Carlon Colker as part of their civil lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE. The petition requests medical records related to Grant who was treated several times at the clinic at the request of Vince McMahon. The petition alleges that Grant received IV treatments and unlabeled pills. Her attorneys want all electronic medical records, billing, payment records related to their client, Peak Wellness Inc's payment agreements with Vince McMahon and WWE, reasons why Grant prescribed treatments, and all communications between McMahon and Dr. Colcker related to her. ¡°On multiple visits, Dr. Colker prescribed Ms. Grant with ¡®adrenal trays¡¯ or ¡®adrenal supplement trays,¡¯ provided by his office and instructed her to take the unmarked pills daily," the petition states. "Dr. Colker did not explain the substances, dosages, or purpose of the pills to Ms. Grant beyond purportedly addressing her symptoms of fatigue. When Ms. Grant asked Dr. Colker about the substance of the supplement trays, and specifically which substance(s) caused her to experience nausea, he responded with pushback about trust, including, ¡®If you don¡¯t trust me, we have bigger problems.'" Ripley returned last week, catching Dom Mysterio and Liv Morgan in the act and just inches away from locking lips. As you can imagine, Mami was not happy and will address the situation tonight. Speaking of Judgment Day members, WWE World Heavyweight champion Damian Priest will come face-to-face with his SummerSlam opponent Gunther and Drew McIntyre returns from his one-week suspension. Also tonight, Sami Zayn puts the Intercontinental title on the line against Ilja Dragunov and Bronson Reed takes on Sheamus. STEPHANIE VAQUER MAKES WWE IN-RING DEBUT- Stephanie Vaquer wasted no time after her official signing with WWE and had her first match at the non-televised live event in Mexico City, Mexico. Vaquer took on one half of the WWE Women's Tag Team champions Isla Dawn and as you probably guessed, she won. Following the match, Vaquer addressed the crowd and said that she is now living her dream being in WWE and is honored to be part of the family. Vaquer also wrestled at the Monterrey show yesterday, again versus Isla Dawn. The Chilean star abruptly quit CMLL and NJPW last week to sign with WWE. WWE ANNOUNCES NEXT TWO NXT PREMIUM LIVE EVENTS- WWE has announced the dates and locations of the next two NXT premium live events - No Mercy and Halloween Havoc. No Mercy will take place on Sunday, September 1 live from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado while Halloween Havoc will take place on Sunday, October 27 from the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Monday Night Raw will also take place the following night from the same location on both occasions, with combo tickets going on sale on Friday, July 26 at 10AM. This is the first time that Halloween Havoc will be a premium live event rather than a television special. The company brought back the popular WCW pay-per-view name in 2020. NATALYA RE-SIGNS WITH WWE- PWInsider.com is reporting that Natalya has signed a new multi-year deal with WWE as she came mighty close to free agency. The 42-year-old is one of the longest-serving WWE Superstars on the roster, having signed with the company in 2007, making this her 17th year. Her leaving WWE would have probably also affected the role of TJ Wilson, her husband, who is one of the highly-regarded producers in WWE, especially when it comes to women matches. Recently, Mercedes Mone said in an interview that there's a husband-and-wife team in WWE who she would really like them to join AEW, referring to Neidhart and Wilson. While she's been working with the company for nearly two decades, Natalya has only won titles on three different occasions, winning the Divas title, Smackdown women's title, and the Women's Tag Team titles with Tamina. WYATT SICKS LEAVE VHS TAPE DURING PAT MCAFEE SHOW- The Wyatt Sicks angle continued on The Pat McAfee show this afternoon when a "You Lied" image flashed on screen like it did last week or so. The image appeared while McAfee and his team were interviewing ESPN baseball analyst Jeff Passan. The lights went out and McAfee's production team said that it wasn't them and their console is frozen. "Do I feel like Chad Gable right now?" Passan said. McAfee then went off stage and retrieved a box which contained a VHS tape, similar to what Nikki Cross delivered to Michael Cole over the past two weeks. "Last time I saw this box, a freak show was staring at me," McAfee said. Later on X, McAfee said that he will be bringing the box tonight to Raw. "Could you please let the Wyatt¡¯s know that I am a massive fan and I believe @MichaelCole would be a much better handler of the box," McAfee wrote. "And also let them know that it has been an ABSOLUTE HONOR to transfer it a couple of times now but, it¡¯s very ok for me not to!" You can see exactly what happened during the show at SLAMMIVERSARY SOLD OUT- This week's TNA Slammiversary pay-per-view is now sold out. To be held at the Verdun Auditorium in Montreal, the Event Brite listing for tickets shows that there are none left for sale. The Verdun Auditorium holds a maximum of 4,000 seats so this will end up being TNA's most-attended event in a very long time. The promotion is experiencing some sort of a resurgence over the past few months, with their stars appearing on NXT and vice versa. WILLOW NIGHTINGALE WINS CMLL WOMEN'S TITLE- Former TBS champion Willow Nightingale has another title to carry after she won the vacant CMLL Women's title at the CMLLxNJPW: Fantastica Mania event on Saturday. Nightingale defeated Viva Van and Lluvia in a triple threat match to win the title. The CMLL Women's title was vacated after the company stripped it off Stephanie Vaquer who quit earlier this week to go to WWE. Nightingale came up short last Wednesday to win the Owen Hart Cup tournament, losing to Mariah May as she went for back-to-back tournament wins. BATTLE OF THE BELTS XI SET FOR JULY 27- Battle of the Belts XI will be taking place on Saturday, July 27, immediately following the conclusion of the live Collision. It will air on TNT from 10PM to 11PM ET. This episode will come from the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where AEW will soon start a residency for Collision and Ring of Honor. That residency will start this weekend with the July 20 episode and will run for a month, ending with the August 17 Collision. AEW will also have the Ring of Honor pay-per-view Death Before Dishonor from that same arena on July 26, a day before they have the three-hour block with Collision and BotB. FTR RETURN- FTR returned to AEW television during Collision, coming to the aid of Tommy Billington, the nephew of the Dynamite Kid, who was being attacked by the Don Callis family. Last month, Dax Harwood announced that he would be out of action for a while because of a hematoma he had since April, something which he kept secret from AEW doctors not to lose the tag team's spot on television. While originally it was thought that Harwood would be out for a longer time, he was cleared to return to the ring in less than a month. Harwood apologized to his co-workers, the AEW medical team, and Tony Khan for keeping his injury a secret. ======================================== ================ ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================== ================ |

Styles wrestled his first match for a Japanese promotion in over eight years and walked out with his mask and Japanese wrestling gear to a proper superstar entrance. The former WWE champion won the match after delivering the Styles Clash and after it was over, he shook hands with Marufuji. Sky came out to her WWE theme and wore her old Queen's Quest mask in her victory over Hayashishita. Sky hit a picture-perfect moonsault for the win and after the match she thanked her opponent, Marigold, and WWE for making it happen. In related news, NXT-bound Giulia headlined the show against Sareee to crown the first Marigold World champion. With Giulia heading to the United States, Sareee won the match and became the inaugural cham pion. You can see highlights at . TWO SUMMERSLAM MATCHES ADDED- Two matches for SummerSlam were made official last night on Friday Night Smackdown. In the main event, Undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes will be putting the title on the line against the new head of the table and Bloodline leader Solo Sikoa. Sikoa, along with Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa destroyed Rhodes in the show-closing angle and then beat up Randy Orton as well who came to try and save Rhodes. Meanwhile, United States champion Logan Paul will defend his title only for the third time since winning it against LA Knight. The two have been going at each other for several weeks now and Paul will be on Smackdown next week. These matches join the already-announced Damian Priest vs Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight title and Bayley vs Nia Jax for the WWE Women's title. TWO NXT STARS ADDED TO PRO WRESTLING NOAH TOURNAMENT- NXT's Josh Briggs and Tavion Heights will be participating in the upcoming Pro Wrestling NOAH N1 Victory tournament starting next month. The tournament, which is pretty much similar to what New Japan Pro-Wrestling does with the G1 Climax, pits 16 stars in two blocks with matches running for nearly a whole month. The tournament starts on August 4 and ends on September 1. The announcement of the two NXT stars came during today's NOAH Destination 2024 event. AJ Styles is wrestling against Naomichi Marufuji during the show as well. MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS BID FAREWELL TO INDIE SCENE- Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley of the Motor City Machine Guns have seemingly waved goodbye to the independent scene after their last match yesterday at the Prestige Wrestling: Combat Clash PDX. Sabin and Shelley squared off against each other with Sabin pulling the victory. The two hugged each other and then waved to the crowd goodbye as the announcers made it clear they will be moving on to bigger things. The MCMG wrestled for TNA Wrestling until April of this year when their contracts expired. They did appear once for AEW at the All Out pay-per-view in 2022 and there were rumors that they were heading to AEW but WWE also offered them a deal. It remains to be seen where the two former decorated TNA champions will end up. WILL OSPREAY DOCUMENTARY ON YOUTUBE- A 40-minute documentary on Will Ospreay's final days with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Revolution Pro has been uploaded on YouTube. Titled Will Ospreay: Closing My Chapter, it is produced by Mark Ashley Films and chronicles the Brit's last matches with the two promotions ahead of his full-time move to All Elite Wrestling. "I had this documentary filmed of my last matches in New Japan & Revolution Pro. To really show how much both companies really played a huge part in me maturing into a man," Ospreay wrote. "Beyond grateful for everything that they both gave me & I miss them so much." Plus, the latest chapter in the Bloodline saga and Ms Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton will celebrate her victory. It will be another healthy crowd tonight on Smackdown with over 9,000 fans expected. WWE ANNOUNCES STEPHANIE VAQUER FOR MEXICO SHOWS- WWE has officially announced that Stephanie Vaquer will be at the non-televised live events in Monterrey and Mexico City this weekend to be presented to the WWE audience for the first time. Vaquer, who has been working in Mexico for the past few years with CMLL, signed a multi-year deal with WWE this week after she quit both CMLL and NJPW. CMLL stripped her off the titles she held. The Chilean star lost the NJPW Strong Women's title to Mercedes Mone at Forbidden Door and made a name for herself during the show, attracting the interest of both WWE and AEW. AEW made an offer which wasn't much considered by Vaquer and the life-long WWE fan chose to go with the company she grew up watching instead. Vaquer is expected to be part of NXT at the beginning but with the Mexico dates this weekend, it made sense to have her debut there. NXT STARS APPEAR ON IMPACT- NXT's Izzy Dame appeared on TNA's Impact television show last night, answering Jordynne Grace's open challenge as she put up the TNA Knockouts title on the line. Grace ended up victorious and took Dame out with her Juggernaut Driver finisher for the victory. Dame was not the only NXT star on last night's show as the No Quarter Catch Crew featuring Charlie Dempsey, Myles Borne, and Tavion Heights also appeared on the show and will have a six-man tag team match next week against The Rascalz and a mystery partner. The TNA and NXT partnership is set to continue through Slammiversary and possibly even longer. JOHN CENA IN INDIA- John Cena is currently in India as he attended the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai today. Cena wore traditional Indian clothes for the wedding, rocking a blue bandhgala kurta and white pants and also wore a pagdi, a traditional headgear worn by men in the country as he danced around and hilariously doing the "you can't see me" hand move. Ambani, the son of Asia's richest man, and Merchant, daughter of pharma tycoons Viren and Shaila Merchant, had five months of festivities leading up to today's big day, which in itself was the climax of a four-day wedding reception. Cena was among several high-profile guests at the wedding which also included the likes of Kim Kardashian and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair. CODY RHODES PREMIERES NOW SHOW ON YOUTUBE- Cody Rhodes' new series, What Do You Wanna Talk About?, has premiered on WWE's YouTube channel. Presented by Wheatley American Vodka, the series features a different WWE Superstar sitting down with Rhodes in his bus discussing a variety of subjects. The first guest is none other than WWE Women's champion Bayley, who tackles topics such as her upbringing, struggles in her career so far, advocating for another all-women show Evolution, and more. You can check it out at . DYNAMITE RATING- Dynamite this week from Calgary which had the finals of the Owen Hart Cup tournament drew 691,000 viewers, up 3,000 viewers from the prior week. The show had a 0.23 rating in 18-49, the same as last week and was #4 on the cable chart for the night. It's the fifth week in a row that the show has hovered under 700,000 viewers. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider) KHAN HOPEFUL OF BIG MONEY MEDIA RIGHTS DEAL- AEW President Tony Khan has said in an interview with SportsGrid that he's hopeful that the new media rights deal will justify the investment he made in AEW. "It¡¯s going to be a huge thing. It will mean that all the investment into AEW has more than paid off," Khan said. "It¡¯ll mean a very secure future for AEW for a very long time to come." Khan said that they're having great conversations with Warner Bros. Discovery and they have a great home with them and said that WBD wants them to stay where they are. "They¡¯ve made us great offers and we¡¯re having great conversations now. But, you know, with five hours of wrestling every week and streaming, there¡¯s all kinds of things to talk about," he continued, before adding that this is a really exciting time for the future of the company. Khan recently said that they're at the finish line with negotiations, negotiations which started months ago. The exclusive window with WBD closes in a matter of weeks and AEW could negotiate with other networks after that. But Khan made it very clear he wants to stay with WBD for years to come and even said in an interview he's willing to stick with them for less money than what others would offer. CJ PERRY GONE FROM AEW- CJ Perry is done with AEW and revealed in an interview with USA Today that her deal with the company has just finished and is now a free agent. Perry, the former Lana in WWE, talked to USA Today at the 2024 ESPY Awards and praised Liv Morgan, who is a close friend of hers, for her current angle with Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio. The 39-year-old told USA Today that she would like to continue a career as a manager, saying that she wants to be the next Paul Heyman. Perry added that while she worked for both AEW and WWE, WWE remains "the greatest franchise in the world." Perry recently separated from her now ex-husband Miro and there are rumors that she's in a relationship with Damian Priest. She joined AEW in 2023, making her debut at the All Out pay-per-view and then started managing Andrade El Idolo before she turned on him and joined Miro after their match at Worlds End. She has not appeared on AEW TV since December of last year. REPORTS: RIC FLAIR DONE WITH AEW- Multiple industry insiders are reporting that Ric Flair's time in AEW seems to have come to an end prematurely. The Wooooo Energy Drink sponsorship that has been part of AEW TV broadcasts over the last several months has stopped as well and both that and Flair are not expected to feature on AEW television moving forward. AEW President Tony Khan announced in November of last year that Flair signed a multi-year deal with the company which enabled Flair to be used on TV as an on-screen character as well as his energy drink to appear during the shows. Flair has not been seen since Sting's farewell. It remains unclear who pulled the plug on the sponsorship deal less than a year since it was announced. In an interview months ago, Khan claimed that Flair is actually paying AEW to appear through his energy drink sponsorship and not the other way round. ======================================================== ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================================== |

How ironic that Storm got whacked with the same shoe she's been using on others. It was the perfect turn and loved every second of it. ======================================================== //->> NEWS FROM THE WRESTLING-ONLINE NEWSWIRE Web version at BRYAN DANIELSON GETS AEW TITLE SHOT AT ALL IN- Bryan Danielson will be getting a shot at the AEW World title, perhaps his last one, at All In next month after he won the Owen Hart Cup tournament last night. A bloodied Danielson defeated Hangman Page after he was nearly submitted with his own LeBell Lock, but reversed it in a pinfall victory. Jeff Jarrett, who served as the enforcer for the match, replaced referee Paul Turner towards the end of the bout after Turner was knocked out. Owen Hart's widow Dr Martha Hart presented Danielson with the title and the cup following the match. To reach the final, Danielson went through Shingo Takagi and PAC while Page beat Jeff Jarrett and Jay White. MARIAH MAN WINS OWEN HART CUP TOURNAMENT, TURNS ON TONI STORM- Mariah May is going back to her home country next month to get a shot at the AEW Women's title at All In after she successfully defeated last year's winner Willow Nightingale in the final of the women's Owen Hart Cup tournament. Following the in-ring celebration with the champion Toni Storm, the two hopped to the top of the stage to get May her prize but May took the title and whacked her best friend with it. May whipped Storm with the title and did the same to Luther who tried to break it off. She then pushed Luther off the stage and through a table. May grabbed Storm's shoe and hammered her head, leaving Storm with a crimson mask after the vicious attack. The broadcast ended with May kissing Storm's bloody forehead. TWO MORE PARTICIPANTS ADDED TO BLOOD & GUTS MATCH- The Blood & Guts match gained two more participants, with one team complete and three open spots remaining on the other team. Hangman Page has joined Team Elite to become their fifth and final member for the match and will now go to war with Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, Kazuchika Okada, and Jack Perry. Meanwhile, AEW World champion Swerve Strickland has joined Team AEW and the only other member on the team so far Mark Briscoe. Blood & Guts Dynamite will take place on Wednesday, July 24 live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. FIRST TWO MATCHES FOR DYNAMITE 250 ANNOUNCED- AEW will be celebrating 250 episodes of Dynamite next week and already announced two matches for the special occasion. The first one is a biggie, with MJF challenging AEW International champion Will Ospreay to a match to start the broadcast. MJF said that this time, instead of Ospreay wrestling for stars, he will be seeing stars. Meanwhile, Mercedes Mone's celebration toast got interrupted - again - by Dr. Britt Baker. Following the show, Mone said that she will have an open challenge for the TBS title next week and it's open to anyone on the AEW roster except Baker. The Dynamite 250 will take place from the Simmons Bank Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas. STEPHANIE VAQUER SIGNS WITH WWE- In a major coup for WWE, the company has signed Stephanie Vaquer, the former NJPW Strong Women's champion, to a multi-year deal. The 31-year-old Chilean star quit CMLL and NJPW this week, two weeks after she lost the NJPW Strong Women's title to Mercedes Mone at Forbidden Door. In a statement, CMLL also said that they stripped Vaquer of the CMLL World Women¡¯s and World Women¡¯s Tag Team championships after she abruptly left. Vaquer had been working for CMLL since 2019 and also worked for NJPW and STARDOM over the past year. Shawn Michaels welcomed Vaquer to the WWE family in a post on X, saying that he would see her in Orlando, suggesting that she will start with NXT. With WWE having shows in Mexico this weekend, it would be the perfect place to introduce her to the WWE audience as she made her name in the country. AEW were also heavily interested in getting Vaquer but she opted to sign with the company who in 2018 passed on her following a tryout in Chile. RAW RATING- Monday Night Raw drew an average of 1,750,000 viewers this week, down 128,000 viewers compared to the prior week despite coming off the Money in the Bank premium live event. The show started strong with 1,850,000 viewers and then dropped to 1,780,000 viewers before ending the night with 1,620,000 viewers. In 18-49, Raw had an average of 0.59 rating, down 0.03 from the prior week and was #1 on cable television by a wide margin. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider) NXT RATING- NXT with the fallout from Heatwave drew 656,000 viewers, up 114,000 viewers from the prior week. The show had a 0.24 rating in 18-49, a nice jump of 0.09 from the previous week and placed #3 on the cable TV chart. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider) JOHN CENA POSTS STATEMENT ON RETIREMENT TOUR- 16-time world champion John Cena posted a statement on his upcoming retirement, his first public words since announcing that 2025 will be his final year as an in-ring competitor. At Money In The Bank, Cena said that his time is up and he would be embarking on a year-long farewell tour with the company starting in January, working approximately up to 40 dates till the end of the year, after which he would be retiring from active competition. ¡°For over 22 years YOU have allowed me to be a part of many special moments. We have incredible history together from setbacks to triumph and all in between," Cena said in a post on social media. "I¡¯m so grateful to be invited back home so we can write the last chapter of this unforgettable ride. Sunsets are often the most memorable experience. I can¡¯t wait to share this sunset with my family. See you all very soon. The Last Time Is Now!" His retirement news got considerable interest from the mainstream media, with several news outlets covering the story. AJ STYLES ARRIVES IN JAPAN FOR NOAH MATCH- WWE Superstar AJ Styles has arrived in Japan for his match against Naomichi Marufuji on Saturday, July 13. The match, for Pro Wrestling NOAH, was announced on June 16 and will take place at the Destination 2024 show from the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. It will air on the Abema service, the same service which streams the WWE Network and WWE shows in the Land of the Rising Sun. Styles has not been seen on WWE television since his Clash at the Castle defeat to Cody Rhodes in an I Quit match in Glasgow, Scotland. ======================================================== ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================================== |

Things we'd never thought we'd see on WWE TV! ======================================================== //->> NEWS FROM THE WRESTLING-ONLINE NEWSWIRE Web version at THE RASCALZ REUNITE ON NXT- The Rascalz reunited on NXT last night as Zachary Wenz and Trey Miguel made a surprise appearance on the USA Network broadcast. With Lee losing his latest shot at regaining the NXT North American title last weekend, he was about to announce that he was leaving the company when Wentz and Miguel showed up to offer some words of encouragement. The crowd chanted TNA as their name was shown on the lower third complete with the TNA logo. "Bro, we missed you so much," Wentz said as fans started a "welcome back" chant. Lee said that he's been watching them and is very proud of what they have accomplished. The three ended the segment hugging each other to a big pop from the crowd. Later in the broadcast, the trio were confronted by Gallus, who informed them that they don't want any TNA stars on NXT. Of course, that led to a match being announced for next week. The Rascalz were a group in TNA until Lee and Wentz departed and joined WWE in 2020. They wrestled under the name of MSK, while Wentz also changed his name to Nash Carter. He was eventually released two years later and just days after winning the NXT Tag Team titles when his estranged wife accused him of domestic abuse and publishing images of him relating to Hitler and Nazi. You can see their reunion at . JOE HENDRY WRESTLES IN MAIN EVENT OF NXT- WWE said his name and he appeared! TNA star Joe Hendry was the mystery partner of former NXT champion Trick Williams in the main event match against new NXT champion Ethan Page and Shawn Spears. WWE had been teasing a Hendry appearance since Sunday, when his face closed the NXT Heatwave broadcast. He was also inserted into the commercial shown on Raw hyping up NXT. "Number one on the charts. Number one in your hearts. Joe Hendry is back on #WWENXT," WWE's X account wrote. The Scottish star picked up the win following a chokeslam on Spears. STEPHANIE VAQUER QUITS CMLL AND NJPW- Former NJPW Strong Women's champion Stephanie Vaquer has quit CMLL and NJPW, citing personal reasons. In a statement issued today by both NJPW and CMLL, they said that Vaquer decided to depart effective immediately and would not be participating in her scheduled July 13 match at the CMLL/NJPW jointly-promoted show Fantastica Mania. "Furthermore, CMLL hereby announces Vaquer is stripped of both the CMLL World Women¡¯s and World Women¡¯s Tag Team Championships," the statement said. "Both CMLL and NJPW would like to apologize to our fans worldwide for the abrupt announcement." Vaquer lost the NJPW Strong Women's title to Mercedes Mone at the AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view last month. There are rumors that Vaquer has received an offer from both WWE and AEW although if she was going to AEW, chances are she would not have quit like that considering both promotions work closely with AEW. "To state the obvious, Vaquer leaving without working that CMLL/NJPW show suggests she's going to WWE," the Luchablog X account wrote. WWE STARS ATTEND NETFLIX'S RECEIVER PREMIERE- WWE's Montez Ford, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Bayley, Cathy Kelley, and Baron Corbin attended the premiere of Netflix's Receiver at the Netflix Tudum Theater yesterday in Los Angeles, California. Morgan and Bayley carried their respective title belts with them on the red - or in this case, green - carpet as all of them posed for the cameras. Receiver is an eight-episode series which dives deep into the lives of some of the NFL's top pass catchers. WWE fan George Kittle, who is one of those featured in the series, was there and also posed with the WWE crew. You can see several photos from the event at . CEDRIC ALEXANDER AND ASHANTE ADONIS MOVE TO NXT- Cedric Alexander has moved to the NXT roster and it looks like his tag team partner Ashante "Thee" Adonis is also tagging along. Alexander was introduced first by NXT GM Ava, who informed Mr. Stone that Stevie Turner set up the interaction between all of them. Stone then helped someone on the phone find the office they were in and Adonis walked in the frame. The duo were part of the Smackdown roster but have not been used on TV for months. MCINTYRE SIGNS WITH PARADIGM TALENT AGENCY- Variety is reporting that Drew McIntyre has signed with Paradigm for representation in all areas. McIntyre becomes the fourth WWE Superstar to sign with the talent agency over the past several weeks after Paradigm also snatched up Tiffany Stratton, World Heavyweight champion Damian Priest, and CM Punk. Variety joked that hopefully McIntyre and Punk don't end up at the Paradigm office at the same time considering their history in WWE! COLLISION RATING- Collision on Saturday night, going head-to-head with WWE's Money In The Bank, drew just 306,000 viewers, down 116,000 viewers from the prior week. The show had a 0.08 rating in 18-49, down 0.04 from the previous episode. This was the second least-watched episode of Collision for 2024. (Ratings credit: Wrestlenomics) DYNAMITE PREVIEW- Tonight's Dynamite is live from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, as the finals of the Owen Hart Cup tournament will be held with Dr. Martha Hart in attendance to present the winners with their respective prize. The tournament finals will see Bryan Danielson taking on Hangman Page with special guest enforcer Jeff Jarrett and Willow Nightingale vs Mariah May. The winners of these finals will receive a title shot at All In next month in Wembley. Three other matches have been announced including Chris Jericho vs Samoa Joe in a Stampede street fight, Claudio Castagnoli vs Kyle Fletcher, and PAC vs Tomohiro Ishii. Plus, we'll hear from AEW World champion Swerve Strickland, AEW International champion Will Ospreay, and Mercedes Mone holds a double championship victory toast. ======================================================== ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================================== |

Liv and Dom are excellent in their roles and the rest of Judgment Day is really helping push this angle forward. There were a couple of LOL moments yesterday and everyone is doing their part to perfection. ======================================================== //->> NEWS FROM THE WRESTLING-ONLINE NEWSWIRE Web version at RHEA RIPLEY RETURNS ON RAW- Rhea Ripley returned on WWE Raw to a gigantic pop just about when Dom Mysterio and Liv Morgan were seconds away from making out in the middle of the ring. The main event of Raw featured Morgan and Mysterio taking on Zelina Vega and Rey Mysterio in a mixed tag team match. During the show, both Dom and Liv were caught in some sexy positions although Dom played it cool and after they won the match, Dom hugged Liv until it clicked and he backed off. Liv decided to jump on him and the two fell on each other, with their lips inches away from locking. And then Rhea's theme hit and the crowd went absolutely bonkers. Liv and Dom were shocked and as Rhea marched down, Liv escaped through the crowd. Rhea went in the ring to confront Dom and he tried to hug her but she wanted none of it and exited the ring. Ripley has been off WWE television since April 15 when she vacated the Women's World title after she got injured in a backstage segment which also involved Liv Morgan. You can see the segment at . WWE TEASING JOE HENDRY APPEARANCE ON NXT TONIGHT- WWE is teasing a Joe Hendry appearance on NXT tonight with his head swivel clip being included in the latest commercial to hype tonight's show. Today's episode of NXT on USA will deal with the fallout from Heatwave, a premium live event which ended with Hendry's face. As the show came to a close and the trademark graphic was displayed on the screen, the show faded to the video of Hendry turning around instead of fading to black. "WWE just said my name," Hendry wrote on X replying to the video. The Scottish star has been on a meteoric rise over the past few months and his NXT appearance last month was cut short when he was eliminated first - and quickly - from the battle royal. Shawn Michaels expressed huge interest in woking with Hendry again and it seems like he got his wish. ESPN'S JOE TESSITORE JOINING WWE- WWE today announced the hiring of ABC and ESPN play-by-play announcer Joe Tessitore who will join the company as a play-by-play broadcaster beginning this Summer. Testier will be teamed up with Wade Barrett and Corey Graves on Smackdown, with the press release labeling both Barrett and Graves as "analysts" even though as Graves is the main play-by-play announcer for Smackdown. "Whether it¡¯s a world title fight that¡¯s got the globe buzzing or a college football rivalry that¡¯s grabbed the nation¡¯s attention, Joe¡¯s voice provides that big event feel each time he is behind the microphone," said WWE Chief Content Officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque. "We¡¯re excited for Joe to join legendary WWE broadcaster Michael Cole and our esteemed announce team, bringing his signature energy and meticulous preparation to our WWE telecasts each week." Tessitore, who described himself as a lifelong WWE fan, said that it was an honor to be part of WWE and attended WrestleMania XL, putting over the creative and production as well as the WWE Superstars. "Corey and Wade are absolute stars and it is my privilege to join their team. Pat and Cole are just magical together and Cole is the greatest to ever sit in that chair. As a lifelong viewer, I¡¯m humbled to join this team and to serve our fans," he said. Tessitore will remain in his role at ESPN and ABC. He has called ESPN and ABC Saturday Night primetime games, the College Football Playoff, World Championship fights of Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, Terence Crawford, among many others. Additionally, he has led ESPN¡¯s Monday Night Football, and has called the NFL Pro Bowl and Wildcard Playoff games on ABC. FINN BALOR REVEALS FIVE-YEAR DEAL WITH WWE- Appearing on the Irish-based What's The Story podcast, Judgment Day member Finn Balor revealed that the contract that he signed with WWE this past April is for five years. One half of the WWE World Tag Team champions said that he and the company had a couple of conversations and the feelings were mutual, where he wanted to stay, and they wanted him to stay. "We hashed it out and I couldn't be happier," the Irish star said before saying he is locked to WWE until 2029. Balor has been signed with WWE since 2014 where he had a run in NXT before being called up to the main roster. He is a former Universal champion, two-time NXT champion, two-time Intercontinental champion, United States champion, and five-time Tag Team champion. TYLER BATE OUT FOR MONTHS, UNDERGOES SURGERY- Former NXT UK champion Tyler Bate will be out of action for months after he tore his left pectoral major and tendon off the bone last week in his match with Pete Dunne against Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. The news was announced by Bate himself in a post on social media today. "Surgery yesterday was successful and all has been put back where it belongs," the Brit wrote. "I¡¯ll be gone for some time while I recover, try not to miss me too much." Bate added that he's in good spirits and looking forward to see everyone again soon. SMACKDOWN RATING- The MITB go-home episode of Smackdown drew the same rating and 18-49 demo as it did last week, with the show getting 2,256,000 viewers and a 0.66 rating in 18-49. The number was good enough for #2 spot on the chart, behind the one-on-one interview with President Biden on ABC. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider) NXT'S DAMON KEMP GONE FROM THE COMPANY- NXT star Damon Kemp has been let go from WWE after his contract was not renewed by the company. Real name Bobby Steveson, he is the brother of Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson who was also released months ago and is now embarking on an NFL journey. "As of today I am no longer under contract with WWE," Steveson wrote on X. "Forever grateful for the people I met and the experiences I¡¯ve had." He joined WWE in 2021 and was part of the Diamond Mine stable with Roderick Strong as its leader. He was recently part of the No Quarter Catch Crew. BAD BLOOD PRIORITY PASSES NOW ON SALE- On Location has started selling priority passes for the upcoming Bad Blood premium live event from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Ticket packages and all inclusive packages are available starting from $500 per person. WWE Priority Pass packages can include premium and ringside seating, in-venue pre-show hospitality with WWE Superstar appearances, commemorative Bad Blood event poster, ringside photo op, dedicated arena entrance, commemorative credential and lanyard and one night stay at nearby hotel. You can check them out at . MARIAH KANELLIS DEALING WITH MASS ON HER ADRENAL GLAND- AEW and ROH star Maria Kanellis wrote on social media that doctors found a mass on her adrenal gland and tests were inconclusive if it is cancer. Kanellis said that six months ago she asked to get her adrenal glands checked and blood work done to check hormone levels because of symptoms she had been experiencing but her insurance would not approve the tests. "Fast forward today, I had a CT with contrast to check a mass that was found accidentally during another test, that is either on my kidney or adrenal gland. Moral of the story¡ listen to your body," Kanellis said. She then confirmed in a later post that her mass was on her adrenal gland and she would be meeting with an endocrinologist surgeon next to see if it is cancerous or not as initial tests did not confirm it. RAMPAGE RATING- Rampage on Friday night drew 309,000 viewers, up 6,000 viewers compared to the prior week. The show had a 0.10 rating in 18-49, also up 0.01 from the previous show. No cable ranking is available. Karmen Petrovic and Arianna Grace defeated Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx in the pre-show; Oba Femi defeated Wes Lee to retain the NXT North American title; Kelani Jordan defeated Sol Ruca to retain the NXT Women¡¯s North American title; Axiom and Nathan Frazer defeated Andre Chase and Duke Hudson to retain the NXT Tag Team titles; Roxanne Perez defeated Lola Vice to retain the NXT Women¡¯s title; Ethan Page defeated Trick Williams, Je¡¯Von Evans, and Shawn Spears in a fatal four-way match to become the new NXT champion. ETHAN PAGE WINS THE NXT TITLE- Just 40 days after making his NXT debut, Ethan Page reached the top of NXT after he became the new NXT champion last night at Heatwave in Toronto. The former AEW star defeated champion Trick Williams, Je'Von Evans, and Shawn Spears in a fatal four-way in the main event of the show to win the title. The ending of the match came after Williams took down Page with his Trick Shot finisher but he fell on Evans, who was out cold after he got the Trick Shot in his face just seconds earlier. The referee counted to three as Spears prevented Williams from breaking the pin. The ending got a big pop from the Toronto crowd with Page being Canadian as well. The win ends Williams' reign as NXT champion after 75 days. He won it in April at the NXT: Spring Breakin' episode on USA Network. You can see the ending at . NXT HEATWAVE ENS WITH A HEAD SWIVEL VIDEO OF JOE HENDRY!- While NXT Heatwave did not have any matches or appearances by any TNA star, the show still had an ending that got people talking. After Page was crowned the new NXT champion and the credits graphic showed up on the screen, the show did not fade to black, but rather, faded into a video of Joe Hendry doing his head swivel. "Say his name, and he appears at #NXTHeatwave," the TNA Wrestling X account posted after the tease aired. Hendry made a quick appearance last month on NXT television as one of the participants in the 25-man battle royal to crown a number one contender for the NXT title. Hendry was the first one eliminated by fellow TNA star Frankie Kazarian, a move which did not go over very well by the NXT crowd. Shawn Michaels said earlier this week during a conference call with the press that he would love to have Hendry back and nothing would thrill him more than to have the opportunity to work with him again. MONEY IN THE BANK 2024 SMASHES A FEW RECORDS- WWE today announced that Money In The Bank 2024 became the highest-grossing WWE arena event in Canada in company history. WWE sold more than 45,000 tickets for their four events running from Thursday to Sunday, with Sami Zayn's comedy show kicking off the weekend, followed by Smackdown, MITB, and Heatwave. This year's show was also the most-watched MITB of all time, with viewership up 46% from last year's record number. Merchandise was also up big from last year's show, although no figure was given. This year, the Canadian-themed MITB briefcase was the top selling item. On Location reported record revenue for the fan experience packages which they offered for the show. "Weekends that bring visitors en masse to our host cities play an important part in our planning process,¡± said WWE President Nick Khan. ¡°The results are a testament to our Superstars, our creative team led by Paul Levesque, our media & production team led by Lee Fitting and, most importantly, our fans who both attended and created our massive viewership." GREAT AMERICAN BASH RETURNING AS TV SPECIAL- The NXT Great American Bash is returning as a television special although unlike previous years, it will be held in August instead of July. The date will be Tuesday, August 6, and it will air on SyFy instead of USA Network due to the Olympics coverage given priority on the more popular channel. Last year's event was presented as a premium live event at the end of July but with Heatwave this past weekend, the Bash reverted to a TV special just like it was in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Those events were two-night specials but this year it will be only for one night. WWE 24: DAMIAN PRIEST DOCUMENTARY OUT IN AUGUST- The popular WWE 24 documentary series is returning next month with a focus on the current WWE World Heavyweight champion Damian Priest. A specific date was not announced apart from the trailer showing that it is coming this August. The documentary will showcase Priest's rise to the top, from his beginnings in Puerto Rico, through several ups and downs, to eventually winning the World Heavyweight title at WrestleMania. In the preview, sit-down interviews with Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley, and The Undertaker are shown. There has not been a WWE 24 documentary since March of last year when they did the yearly WrestleMania documentary. UNDERTAKER 1DEADMAN SHOW ADDED TO SUMMERSLAM WEEKEND- The Undertaker's 1deadMAN SHOW will be part of the SummerSlam weekend in Cleveland as WWE announced a show with the WWE Hall of Famer for Saturday, August 3. The show will be held at The Agora starting at 1PM ET ahead of SummerSlam. Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, July 10 at 10AM ET at axs.com. An exclusive presale opportunity starts tomorrow at 10AM ET at axs.com/events/619247/undertaker-tickets. A limited number of VIP tickets, which includes premier seating and a meet-and-greet with The Undertaker, will also be available. WWE has sold over 46,000 tickets for SummerSlam so far which will take place at the Cleveland Browns Stadium. RAW PREVIEW- The fallout from Money In The Bank will happen tonight live on WWE Raw from Ottawa, Ontario where four matches have been announced for the show already. Liv Morgan and Dom Mysterio have been ordered to team up by Raw GM Adam Pearce as they take on Zelina Vega and Rey Mysterio in a mixed tag team match. Braun Strowman, The Miz, and R-Truth will battle Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, and Carlito in a six-man tag team match, a six-woman tag match will feature Lyra Valkyria, Kayden Carter, and Katana Chance against Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane, and Dakota Kai, and Jey Uso battles Chad Gable. With Drew McIntyre suspended, it will be interesting to see where CM Punk fits, if he does at all, on tonight's show following what happened at Money in the Bank and the World Heavyweight champion Damian Priest will also be in the house. RIHO FRACTURES HER ARM IN FIRST MATCH BACK- In her first match since March, AEW star Riho fractured her arm on Collision during her bout against Lady Frost. "I just fractured my arm but I¡¯m doing very well," Riho posted on Instagram, along with a selfie showing her right arm in a sling. The Japanese star returned to AEW last month after being out for three months due to the renewal of her U.S. visa. It's not known for how long the inaugural AEW Women's champion will be out for. ======================================================== ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================================== |

They could have used other ways for Punk to screw McIntyre during the match. ======================================================== //->> NEWS FROM THE WRESTLING-ONLINE NEWSWIRE Web version at MONEY IN THE BANK 2024 RESULTS- Here are the results from the Money In The Bank 2024 premium live event which took place live from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. Drew McIntyre defeated Jey Uso, Chad Gable, Andrade, LA Knight, and Carmelo Hayes in the MITB ladder match to win the briefcase; Sami Zayn defeated Bron Breakker to retain the Intercontinental title; Damian Priest defeated Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre in a triple threat match to retain the WWE World Heavyweight title after McIntyre cashed in his MITB briefcase; Tiffany Stratton defeated Naomi, Chelsea Green, Lyra Valkyria, Zoey Stark, and Iyo Sky in the MITB ladder match to win the briefcase; Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga defeated Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens in a six-man tag team match. THE TIME IS UP: JOHN CENA ANNOUNCES FAREWELL TOUR- John Cena made a surprise appearance at the Money In The Bank premium live event in Toronto to announce that his WWE career is coming to an end and he is embarking on a farewell tour. Cena thanked the fans in Canada for always showing up no matter if WWE was "hot" or "cold" and it was the perfect place to make his announcement. The 16-time world champion said that when WWE Raw moves to Netflix, he will be there to make history, but the 2025 Royal Rumble will be his last one, the 2025 Elimination Chamber will be his last one, and WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas will be his last one too. Cena also promised to be the first one out at the press conference after MITB and would answer all questions regarding his retirement. He has hinted multiple times in several interviews that he would like to wrap up his in-ring career before he turns 50. DREW MCINTYRE WINS MITB BUT FAILS IN CASHING IN- Drew McIntyre won the Money In The Bank ladder match and cashed in - unsuccessfully - during the WWE World Heavyweight title match between Damian Priest and Seth Rollins. McIntyre came out seconds after Priest failed to kick out of a three count and was only saved by the referee who stopped his count at two in an obvious botch. McIntyre handed his briefcase and the match was officially turned into a three-way match. But just as about he was going to win, CM Punk came out and attacked McIntyre, hitting him several times with a chair, choking him out with a wire, and then hitting him in the head with the title. The champion then hit his South of Heaven finisher on McIntyre and covered him for the pinfall as Punk sat with his legs crossed on the announce table admiring his work. Seth Rollins was pissed off at CM Punk and had to be restrained by Corey Graves. Rollins not winning the title now means that he can no longer challenge for the title as long as Priest is the champion. TIFFANY STRATTON WINS THE MITB LADDER MATCH- It's Tiffy time in WWE and we're going to be reminded of that perhaps for months to come as Tiffany Stratton became Ms Money In The Bank last night after she successfully grabbed the briefcase to earn a title shot at any time during the next year. Stratton defeated Chelsea Green, Iyo Sky, Zoey Stark, Naomi, and Lyra Valkyria in a match filled with some scary spots including Sky hitting a Michinoku Driver on Stark from the ladder onto another ladder and Chelsea Green being pushed off the top of the ladder and crashing onto two tables outside. The 25-year-old former gymnast had a pretty good rise in WWE ever since she was called from NXT and the future is definitely bright for the Minnesota native. JOHN CENA GIVES MORE DETAILS ON HIS FAREWELL TOUR- Staying true to his word and answering all questions about his retirement, John Cena clarified some things about this farewell tour. While during his promo he made it sound like WrestleMania will be the end, Cena said that this tour is planned from January to December 2025 and involves around 35 to 40 dates in total. He said that WrestleMania 41 will be his last WrestleMania, but not his last match. Asked why the time is now, Cena said it wasn't necessarily up to him but he approached WWE with this idea and they liked it and thought next year would be the right time to do it and he's up for it. Asked about another dance with The Rock and his unfinished business with him, Cena said that there's always unfinished business in WWE but has no idea who he's facing in the year to come. "I don't and never put much stock in expectations beyond my control," Cena said. "I am in no position to hand pick opponents." He added that part of the excitement of this is not knowing who he's facing or who's showing up. Quizzed about if he would fancy a heel turn like The Rock, Cena shot down the idea, saying it goes heavily against what he values and wouldn't work for him as a character. "It's a joyous time for me, it's a fun time for me. If we can all build moments that can pour the foundation for the next two decades, that would be pretty special," Cena answered. The obvious Vince McMahon question also came up with Cena asked what Vince means to him and what he makes of the allegations. Cena was very diplomatic and said he's been honest with his opinion on Vince in the past and everyone can dig them up online. He wants to focus on what's next and said WWE is in good hands with TKO. Cena also revealed that the business plan he proposed to WWE - and one which was accepted - involves him remaining part of the WWE family in some capacity for an extended period of time well beyond his in-ring retirement. "WWE is my home and I love it," Cena said, saying that just because he's not wr estling, doesn't mean he can't contribute. Cena also said that once he's done, the jorts will be retiring as well, this uniform will be retiring with him, and you won't see him doing guest referee spots or accidentally falling through tables. The John Cena we'll see after his in-ring retirement will be in suit and tie. CM PUNK SAYS HE'LL GET CENA OUT OF RETIREMENT!- CM Punk discussed John Cena in the Money In The Bank post-show press conference last night and joked that he will be the one who eventually makes him come out of retirement. MITB was dominated by Cena's announcement of retiring next year, with 2025 being the final year he will be in the ring. Asked what John Cena means to him and and his career, Punk had glowing things to say about his one-time nemesis. "I texted him right away and said don't leave before you say hi to me and he texted back, 'Haha, have a good one tonight,' and I immediately took that as a 'piss off I'm leaving,'" Punk said. Punk said he knows Cena is busy but they still ran into each other backstage. "I told him I'll be the guy who drags him out of retirement," Punk joked. "This retirement he says he's going to adhere to and when the final one happens and this is going to be it, in 15 years I'll drag him out of retirement!" He said that he's proud of Cena and that he gets to go out on his terms, which is important to him and he's looking forward to see what he does. "I told him that you know if it's gonna be one more time, we gotta do it at least one more time." NXT HEATWAVE LIVE ON PEACOCK & WWE NETWORK TONIGHT- Live tonight from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, WWE presents NXT Heatwave on Peacock and WWE Network. The full card is as follows: Trick Williams vs Je'Von Evans vs Ethan Page vs Shawn Spears in a fatal four-way match for the NXT title; Roxanne Perez vs Lola Vice for the NXT Women's title; Oba Femi vs Wes Lee in a last chance match for the NXT North American title with the stipulation that if Femi wins, Lee can never challenge for the title for as long as Femi is champion; Kelani Jordan vs Sol Ruca for the NXT Women's North American title; Nathan Frazer and Axiom vs Andre Chase and Duke Hudson for the NXT Tag Team titles; and Karmen Petrovic and Arianna Grace vs Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx in the pre-show. The pre-show will start at 6PM ET and will air live and free on Peacock, WWE Network, and all of WWE's social media properties while the actual show will kick off at 7PM ET. TRIPLE JUMPS TO DAMIAN PRIEST'S DEFENSE AFTER BOTCH DURING MATCH- In the post-MITB press conference, Paul "Triple H" Levesque jumped to Damian Priest's defense after he was asked a question of what happened when Priest failed to kick out during the match and the referee stopped the count in a very obvious botch. Levesque joked that he's going to go and ask the referee what he saw that he didn't see and what we didn't see because yeah Priest didn't kick out and as well know, the referee's decision is final. "Human beings in the ring. Mistakes happen. Things happen. It is what it is," Triple H said, turning serious. He said that if that was something that happened to him as a talent, no matter how good the match was, that's all he would think about and he wishes he could go to Priest and make him turn off his phone and just concentrate on the great match he had. "It's a shame that that's all people will talk about," he said. "A bunch of people attack that, criticize that," adding that most of the times in these situations, the negatives always outw eigh the positives. Triple H put over Priest big time and said that the champion has stepped up to a place that when you see him perform now, you have to think he's one of the top performers. He made himself "own" that position and he's so incredibly proud of him. "I hate for it to be, 'Oh yeah you're the guy who didn't kick out the one time.' That's the shame part of it," he continued. "It's just the way the world works." DREW MCINTYRE "SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY" FOR HIS ACTIONS AFTER MITB- Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced a storyline suspension for Drew McIntyre following last night's Money In The Bank. Following the show, McIntyre interrupted the post-show and laid his hands on several officials, including striking Pearce. In a video posted on WWE's social media, Pearce said that he's suspending McIntyre "indefinitely" and also fining him and CM Punk for what happened. In the same video, Pearce also announced two matches for tomorrow's Raw with Braun Strowman, The Miz, and R-Truth vs The Judgment Day in a six-man tag match and Zelina Vega and Rey Mysterio vs Liv Morgan and Dom Mysterio. MARKO STUNT MAKES SURPRISE APPEARANCE ON COLLISION- Marko Stunt, the former one third of the Jurassic Express team, made a surprise return to AEW last night on Collision to answer Jack Perry's TNT title open challenge. It was his first time in AEW ring since late 2021. He departed AEW in March 2022 after his contract was never renewed. Stunt teamed with Perry as Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus for most of his time in AEW prior to his departure. The 27-year-old was unsuccessful in his quest to win the TNT title, with Perry winning the match. HANGMAN PAGE ADVANCES TO OWEN HART CUP FINAL- Hangman Adam Page earned a spot in the finals of the Owen Hart Cup tournament after he beat Jay White last night on Collision, setting up what should be a banger of a match this Wednesday. The former AEW World champion will now meet Bryan Danielson in the final and the winner of that match will go on to headline All In in Wembley Stadium against Swerve Strickland for the AEW World title. The women's tournament finals will see last year's winner Willow Nightingale take on Mariah May, also taking place next Wednesday on Dynamite from Calgary. ======================================================== ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================================== |

The full card is as follows: Damian Priest vs Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight title with the stipulation that if Priest wins, Rollins will not get another title shot as long as he's champion and if Rollins wins, Priest is out of The Judgment Day; Sami Zayn vs Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental title; Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens vs The Bloodline in a six-man tag team match; Iyo Sky vs Chelsea Green vs Lyra Valkyria vs Tiffany Stratton vs Naomi vs Zoey Stark in a MITB ladder match; Jey Uso vs Carmelo Hayes vs Andrade vs Chad Gable vs LA Knight vs Drew McIntyre in a MITB ladder match. The Money In The Bank pre-show kicks off at 6PM ET and airs free on Peacock, WWE Network, and WWE's social media properties. The actual event starts an hour later at 7PM ET. TRISH STRATUS TO HOST MITB TONIGHT- Trish Stratus will be hosting tonight's Money In The Bank premium live event. The WWE Hall of Famer appeared at yesterday's Kickoff party to hype up the crowd and urged the Toronto fans to "show up." Stratus yesterday uploaded a video on her social media hinting that she will be at the show and later the news was announced that she would serve as the host. She last appeared on WWE television at Payback last year, losing a cage match to Becky Lynch. WWE WANTS FANS TO WEAR WHITE FOR MITB- WWE has urged fans who will be attending tonight's Money In The Bank to wear white clothing. During the Kickoff party yesterday at the Scotiabank Arena, Michael Cole encouraged everyone to wear white so they could do a "whiteout," which would obviously look spectacular on television. Whether fans will follow that plea remains to be seen as wrestling fans are typically known more for their black and dark t-shirts rather than white! This is the first time that WWE is asking fans to wear a specific color for a show. DIY WIN THE WWE TAG TEAM TITLES- There are new WWE Tag Team champions in town as Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano defeated Grayson Waller and Austin Theory on Smackdown in the main event of the show. This is DIY's first run with the tag belts on the main roster, having previously won the NXT Tag Team titles. In fact, they won the titles in the same building where they won the NXT titles eight years earlier. WWE CCO Triple H wrote on X, "So much history here. @JohnnyGargano & @CiampaWWE stepped into the same building where they first won tag team gold¡ and did it all over again. Congrats to #DIY, your NEW @WWE Tag Team Champions." He also posed with the two in the same way he did eight years prior, uploading both pictures side-by-side. This title change ends the run of A-Town Down Under who won the titles at WrestleMania 40. KEVIN OWENS REVEALS HIS MOTHER HAS BEEN IN HOSPITAL FOR A WEEK- Kevin Owens revealed yesterday on Smackdown that his mother has been admitted in a Quebec hospital for the past week and is "fighting like hell." In the in-ring promo along with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, Owens said that he got a call on Monday morning from his father, telling him to come home now. "I jumped on a flight and I flew back to Quebec and that¡¯s where I¡¯ve been for the last five days or so," Owens told the Toronto crowd. "In the same hospital where she gave birth to me, with my dad and my brother at her bedside, watching her fight like hell!" He said that the Toronto shows are always special for him and his family because all the family gets together to enjoy wrestling. "But my dad and my mom are not here tonight. They won¡¯t be here tomorrow because my mom is still in that hospital bed fighting like hell," he continued. Owens said that he could have stayed home and it would not have been a problem from WWE's side, but it would have been a problem for his mother. "Because ever since I was 11 years old and I discovered professional wrestling and WWE, she did everything she could - along with my dad - to make sure I would realize my dream, get to WWE," Owens said. "She wanted me to fight like hell. She told me every single time to come in here and leave it all in the ring. So if she knew, if she heard, that I had missed a show because of her, she¡¯d be so pissed!" Owens then warned The Bloodline that he's more serious than he's ever been in his career and tomorrow night, be it win, lose, or draw, he's going to do what his mother has always wanted him to do for the past four years: kick the living hell out of them! WWE BAD BLOOD RETUNING AS A PREMIUM LIVE EVENT- WWE is bringing back Bad Blood as a premium live event after an absence of 20 years. The State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia will host the show on Saturday, October 5 and the announcement of the show came via a video by WWE champion Cody Rhodes and rapper Metro Boomin. There have only been three Bad Blood shows - in 1997, 2003, and 2004 - and this 2024 version will take place on the same day of the first-ever Bad Blood which had Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match and the introduction of Kane. "This October, prepare to witness the return of an absolute classic. Atlanta¡ are you ready? #WWEBadBlood," Triple H posted on X. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 19. LATEST BETTING ODDS FOR MONEY IN THE BANK- We are just a couple of hours away from Money In The Bank where a jam-packed crowd is expected at the Scotiabank Arena. Below you will find the latest betting odds for all five matches on the card. Remember, these odds are still likely to change by the time the show starts so be careful when betting with real money. Damian Priest remains the favorite to retain the WWE World Heavyweight title tonight with his odds at 2/5 while opponent Seth Rollins is 7/4 to regain it. A new Intercontinental champion is predicted by the bookmakers with Bron Breakker the favorite with 4/6 odds and champion Sami Zayn is 11/10 in his numbers to retain it. GOFUNDME CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED FOR KEVIN SULLIVAN- Former WCW star "The Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan is not doing well health-wise and his wife opened a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the thousands of dollars in medical bills. According to the GoFundMe page, Sullivan suffered an accident on May 12 while in Florida for an autograph signing. He underwent emergency surgery that saved his leg and life but faced severe complications, including sepsis and encephalitis. While he has an insurance plan, his coverage is nearly exhausted due to the length of stay in hospital and this GoFundMe will help cover the continued hospital expenses, nursing care, physical therapy, recurring medical expenses, and transportation. The $20,000 goal has already been surpassed with Jim Cornette as the top donor with $5,000, Chris Jericho with $2,500, Scott D'Amore with $1,500, Cody Rhodes with $1,000, and Diamond Dallas Page with another $1,000. You can pitch in at MARIAH MAY ADVANCES TO THE OWEN HART CUP FINAL- Mariah May is going to the final of the Owen Hart Cup tournament. The British star, who defeated Saraya during the Zero Hour show last Sunday, defeated former AEW Women's champion Hikaru Shida in the semi final yesterday on Rampage. The final will now pit May vs Willow Nightingale at next week's Dynamite with the winner receiving a title shot at All In at Wembley Stadium. The men's final will have Bryan Danielson vs the winner of tonight's semi final between Jay White and Hangman Page which will take place on Collision. ======================================================== ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================================== |

MITB is one of my favorites and the Toronto crowd should make it a bit extra special. ======================================================== //->> NEWS FROM THE WRESTLING-ONLINE NEWSWIRE Web version at OVER 43,000 TICKETS SOLD FOR MITB WEEKEND IN TORONTO- WWE will have three back-to-back-to-back shows at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto starting tonight with Friday Night Smackdown. The shows continue tomorrow with Money In The Bank and then Sunday with NXT Heatwave before the company heads to Ottawa for Raw on Monday night. Tonight's Smackdown has over 16,000 tickets distributed already, making it one of the biggest Smackdowns of the year. Money In The Bank is the most-sold with over 17,000 already out and will be legit sold out by the time the show kicks off tomorrow. Sunday's NXT Heatwave has over 10,000 distributed, which is fantastic for NXT considering their weekly TV is in front of less than 400 people. With over 43,000 tickets sold in total, it will be another very, very successful weekend for WWE, a company which continues to smash record after record. Their next premium live event, SummerSlam, has over 46,000 tickets already booked. CODY RHODES COMES TO RESCUE FOR FAN WHO WON MITB TICKETS BUT COULDN'T ATTEND- WWE champion Cody Rhodes came to the rescue of a disabled fan who won tickets for Money In The Bank and was later told that accessible seats were sold out and he would not be able to go. Mike Ashkewe won a Toys 'R' Us Canada competition for MITB tickets but he received bad news when he was told by Toys 'R' Us that accessibility seating were all out and there was no way for him to go. "At this time we can offer you the cash value for the prize ($301.99) as indicated in the rules and regulations of the contest, or the current admission tickets. Please let us know your preference and we will expedite your prize," the e-mail notification said. Ashkewe voiced his disappointment on X, tagging WWE, The Usos, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes, saying he was going to miss out on a cool experience because he's wheelchair-bound. But hours later, the situation was rectified. "So @CodyRhodes just called me. I am in shock and awe," he wrote. "Like, the American Nightmare made a Canadi an dream. Like wow. I am speechless. Thank you @wwe for everything and making this happen." Replying to his post, Rhodes told him to enjoy the show and credited WWE and Scotiabank Arena for jumping in to help. Ashkewe also added that WWE contacted him directly to apologize for what happened and assured him that he would be going to the show with all his accessibility needs covered. TRISH STRATUS AT MONEY IN THE BANK TOMORROW- WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus wrote on X that she will be at the Money In The Bank premium live event tomorrow live from her hometown of Toronto. Stratus also posted a video getting in a Ferrari - with STRATUS as the license plate - as she drives in the streets of Toronto and stopping right in front of the Scotiabank Arena, the home of tonight's Smackdown, tomorrow's MITB, and Sunday's NXT Heatwave. "See you tomorrow Toronto," she wrote, tagging the WWE and TKO accounts and using the #MITB hashtag. Stratus returned for an extended time last year but exited after she lost a cage match to Becky Lynch at Payback. After the match, Zoey Stark turned on Stratus after the Hall of Famer slapped her. EARLY BETTING ODDS FOR MONEY IN THE BANK- WWE is back on Peacock and WWE Network for Money In The Bank tomorrow night, one of the most popular premium live events on the calendar. Five matches are on the card and today we'll take a look at the early betting odds before we update them tomorrow night hours before the show. In the World Heavyweight title match, champion Damian Priest is the favorite to keep his gold and his place in Judgment Day with odds of 4/9, while Seth Rollins is 6/4 to regain the title. Bookmakers think a new Intercontinental champion will walk out of the Scotiabank Arena as Bron Breakker is 11/20 and favorite to win the title against champion Sami Zayn whose odds are 5/4. Are you ready to yeet? Jey Uso is favorite to be the new Mr Money in the Bank with 1/2 odds in this ladder match. Drew McIntyre is 2/1, Chad Gable is 3/1, Carmelo Hayes and LA Knight are 5/1, and Andrade El Idolo is unlikely with 14/1 odds. In the women's ladder match, Tiffany Stratton is the favorite to be the new MITB briefcase hold er with odds of 2/5. Chelsea Green is 6/4, Lyra Valkyria has odds of 33/10, Naomi is 7/1, Iyo Sky is 9/1, and Zoey Stark is 17/1. In the final match, The Bloodline are 1/4 favorites to defeat Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton in a six-man tag team match, with the faces having odds of 5/2. HENDRY AND KAZARIAN ADVANCE TO SLAMMIVERSARY MAIN EVENT- Joe Hendry and Frankie Kazarian were the last two TNA stars to qualify for the TNA World title six-way elimination match at Slammiversary after last night's Impact on AXS TV. Kazarian defeated Mike Santana in the first qualifier while Hendry defeated Jake Something in the main event to advance, and will now join Nic Nemeth, Josh Alexander, Steve Maclin, and TNA World champion Moose in the match and main event of Slammiversary. Slammiversary will take place on Saturday, July 20 live from the Verdun Auditorium in Montreal, Canada. DYNAMITE RATING- The Forbidden Door fallout episode of Dynamite this week drew 688,000 viewers, up 8,000 viewers from the prior week. The show had a 0.23 rating in 18-49, up 0.01 from the previous episode, and considering it was on the eve of Independence Day, it has to be considered a very good number. No cable rankings are available. (Ratings credit: PWTorch.com) MXM COLLECTION COMING TO ROH- MxM Collection, the artists formerly known as Maximum Male Models in WWE, will soon be arriving in Ring of Honor after their vignette aired on ROH TV last night. The duo, Mace and Mansoor, were released from WWE in September 2023 and continued with their model gimmicks while wrestling on the independent scene. They are now going with the names of Mason Madden and Mansoor. "We put the 'Ho' in Ring of Honor," Mansoor wrote on X after the vignette aired. They had been rumored to be coming to either AEW or ROH for quite a few weeks now and credit to them, they have continued to get over with the crowd with a questionable gimmick which they were given in the first place. The two also appeared for Soft Ground Wrestling in Uganda, helping the wrestling-mad group raise money for their promotion. ======================================================== ADVERTISING: (C) Copyright 1996-2024 Wrestling-Online.com ======================================================== |
