THANK YOU, Douglas Reece -- you solved my problem upgrading from Windows 10 to a new PC with Windows 11. Moving the fldigi.prefs and fldigi_def.xml files from my Windows 10 working installation to the new Windows 11 made it all come alive again. My base problem was getting the error code AUDIO PORT NOT AVAILABLE when setting up Devices even though I had emphatically checked Windows Privacy>Michrophone settings correctly by opening the Microphone to all apps.
