Re: WILLYS CAP UPDATE! - SHIPPING MONDAY

Hi,
I need a snail mail address to send my check to pay for the hat that I ordered. I have sent 3 emails during the past week to Marc's att address, and his workofmarc address, with no reply. Please tell me how to pay. Thanx!

Yeah.. I made the mistake of buying from MT OVERLAND? once... got the front add-on brush bumper part from him.? It was not only rusty but in so bad repair ¨Ca bolt hole essentially had to be totally reconstructed before stripping and re-chroming it... I easily spent over two 2K on THAT mistake.? Never again if I can help it.

Might have one extra yellow now. Not sure of the color count. But it¡¯s yours..

Trying to get 4 more yellow and 4 more blue but the production might have already ceased.?

FYI, I understand that the Jeepsterman business and stock was sold to "JustJeepsters" located in Festus / Crystal City, MO.? Mark and son, John are the owners and are very good to deal with.? It is nice to have a Willys parts supplier close enough that I can drive to.

Re: Where to find Speedo cluster for 57 Willys?

Hi.. Looks like Walcks is out of their after market Speedo cluster as seen here:
It's a bit pricey. Any idea where I can find either the original cluster or one like this to replace mine?

Re: 4 speed "update" in '65 Willys wagon.

Sure looks like a challenging job, impressive.
BTW, I really like your site!

I hesitate to start this topic because it may not be worth it.? But, for those who enjoy challenge, here is my (successful) attempt to install a T19 all synchro 4 speed in our Tornado-engined wagon.? The results are pleasing, except for the pocket book.

Re: 4 speed "update" in '65 Willys wagon.

It's a 2WD pickup. I've done a little prep on this swap and have found the bolt pattern on the Jeepster tranny matches the truck bell housing so it's encouraging. I know the crossbrace that the tranny sits on must be moved and the driveshaft shortened. What I don't know is what else I'm up against.

I'm doing this so the truck will be easier (more fun) in daily driving.
Thanks for your response.? ?Jim

Re: 4 speed "update" in '65 Willys wagon.

I'm afraid you'll have to find someone younger to do yours AWORKOFMARC... or do the "upgrade" yourself. ?When I started planning this job, I really had little idea how long it would take and assumed it would cost $1000. ?It was a fair bit of work and I made it more complicated by customizing the T-case linkage and installing a new clutch (that caused a lot of trouble).
It's funny how so many projects end up being "a bridge too far". ?I'm stupid that way, never learning from the realities of renovating old houses to repairing old vehicles while all my friends lie on beaches in Costa Rica, Hawaii or the south of France....

Cheers, Pavel up north.
