Over the past few years I've tried to access WillysTech to no avail.? Although I could and did go to the knowledge base numerous time.? So, it was a wonderful surprise when the first messages from the re-vitalized WillyTech turned up in my inbox.

One of the features of the new system is that, at the bottom of each message, there are options? for different ways to reply, including both? to the list, and to the poster of the message only.? The second can be more appropriate? if you don't think the rest
of the group will be interested, or you want to have a separate conversation on a topic. The hats replies could go either way, for example.
Also, that way you don't have to put your email address out there for all to see if that is a concern if you want to take a topic offline.
For those concerned about too many messages,? this system offers digest mode, like Yahoo did, along with no? messages (get them at the web site), or only messages related to your posts.? Looking at the messages on? the web site is nice in that the messages
are sorted by topic, with all the replies to a post following the original post.? Easy to read and follow.??

Thanks to whoever all kept this alive, and migrated over all us lurkers like me!
I have a '51 Willys truck, non-restored but running and legal.? ?Got it with spring-over conversion, rebuilt Chevy 283 and T-90 transmission, new radiator, now it's 12V w/ new wiring harness and starter, put in some gages so I can hopefully know before I fry
anything.? Will definitely be needing advice as I move along.? Just want to get it weather tight, halt/slow the cancer, enjoy it.? A friend has the overdrive for the truck, that's one project for sure.

All,
Earlier, file uploads? did not work.? This should be fixed; as the admin I had not allowed it (default setting).? That said, storage is a concern, so uploading 10 MB manuals would not be good. May loosen up later, with? more experience managing our space.??
Also, the system is set to not allow photos in the files, which can be changed, but let's start with photos going into photo? albums.
Concerning the photo albums? from the Yahoo site, I've? uploaded about a third of them so far.? They all say? that I'm the poster; most of the time I don't? know who? posted the pictures originally; if you? find your album and want your name on it, let me know.?
Looking at the pictures has been fun.
Special award? for finding the polling application.? I have no ability to change the results, dangit; there are limits to moderator power.
Every time someone? joins or drops from the group, I get an email.? While there are many drops as people who? haven't heard from the? group? in? a while react to the message, there are also some joining the group.
The? system is set up? so that a moderator has to approve the first message from a new person- that seems to work.? There is at least one member whose posts are requiring moderator approval each time, don't know why.? Given the workload at groups.io at this
time, not? bugging them about it now.??
In viewing the messages in the moderator's group, it's clear that the system is being improved over time.? For example, the member directory has no search function, and entries are in alphabetic order- kind of.? Cleaning this up is on the? development? list.
Concerning Maxwell Smart, this morning many Yahoo groups are finding the window closing on migration, as Yahoo shuts down the ability? to transfer files later today.? We made the? deadline
by "that much".

Since turning 70, i do it the old guy way. Pull transfer case then pull tranny.
I also put it together the same way. I put 4 long tbreaded studs in the mount holes to set the transfer case when I reassemble.

Replacing rear seal on '48 4wd Willys Pickup...
So glad to see this group starting back up, I didn't post much but did read most of the postings!? This also comes at a good time as I need to replace the rear seal in my pickup and I'm sure I'll need some advice / help.? I've pulled the engine before but this time I thought I'd drop the transmission / transfer case (never done that before).? I'm sure there are some things to look out for so as I get into that I may be asking for advice.
