Re: [WT] Passenger side wiper blade..........

Thanks Chris....and I will contact Mr DiBella.....but in my case all I need
is the blade ITSELF. I have all parts except the actual blade. Its a simple
straight blade....no springs or anything fancy...but I know I`m not gonna find
that at any Kragen or AutoZone. Thanks again....Mike

Re: [WT] Installing door window

David,

The piece of metal that the bottom of the window slides into has two
horizontal tracks on it. One is longer than the other. Which one is
on the hinge side (or vent) of the door? I am a bit confused as to
which side of this piece faces the inside of the cab.

Thanks,
John

Re: [WT] jeep mb "recessed" headlights

Alexander Dogga

hello chris,
thank you for your response. the more I survey the jeep, the more I am sure that it was a military jeep. over the next few days I will try to gently clean the paint on the hood and see if there are any numbers. the delivery plate reads 4/19/1945. the frame plate reads the same serial # as the dash plate.
I noticed that some of the photos I have seen on the net that there is a smaller fourth plate closer to the center line of the jeep. Would you happen to know what information it contained? thank you again, I'll keep you posted if you like.

Hi Alex,

MB's came with the recessed headlights in the grill so it is all probable that the previous owner, or one of the previous owners changed it over to a civi grill. One of the jeep dealerships in my area would make this change for a customer back in the early 50's according to one of my neighbors. He had a MB from the local Army Air corp base, but didn't like how dim the lights were. The dealership changed the lights and grill over for him. Both he, and I, wish he still had that old jeep. :)

Does your MB still have the data tags on the dash? Does it have the tool boxes built into the rear quarter panels? Lack of tail gate?

What other changes did they do to it?

Can you tell MB's are my favorite??? :)

hello,
i just found and bought a 44' jeep. runs great. but has a few quirks
i'm not too sure about. the most obvious is that the headlights are
not recessed. they look like cj lights. was this ever standard, or
could it be that it was modified sometime during its life?
i would like to change them to a recessed type but if it was standard
i'll leave it alone. thank you, alex

Is this show to be aired in select locations?
I can't find it on my local (Rochester, NY) schedule.

The Flyingn Jeep? - was Re: Fork-n-Jeep : Re Donny Dickey

Donny, Are you saying that jeeps were converted to everything
other than an aircraft.
Because there were two version of the flying jeep.
They used the helicopter principle.
A tower was built between the driver and the passenger seats.
That tower housed the main rotor support bearings.

If you search the internet you will possibly find the pictures of the
two versions.
I have no idea if these things actually flew ???

They were called the "FLEEP" for Flying Jeep.

It was tried sometime during the second world war.

original bolt finish

Hi, I'm still working on my CJ2a, my question is... what was the original finish
on the bolts & screws inside the cockpit? Were they blued, unpainted or
what? How 'bout the footman loops and screws? I could ask my uncle who
was a mechanic during the last big war but he probably would think I was
mad. I looked on the WT database but they only have lots of questions about
the wheel color. Thanks for any help.

Passenger side wiper blade..........

Anyone have a source for the passenger side,hand-operated wiper blade for a
`46 CJ2A? I even contacted the Wiperman and he couldn't help.......said it
was quite a bit thicker than normal blades......and I am betting few of you
even HAVE that wiper, but I`m searching for a source.Part number or even a
substitute that fits would be GREAT also!! Thank you..............Mike

Te Schedule varies according to the PBS station. I suggest Googling
"Jeep: Steel Soldier."

Shortly after it airs, I don't know how shortly, they will start

likely from the main PBS site as well at some point.

I hesitate to review something I was involved with, but I think it
hits the mark. Accurate, just the right amount of enthusiasm, a
fair

quarter-

I agree. I'd love to see the undercarriage to see how they moved the
steering wheel and shifter (I noticed the transfer case shifters were

interesting). Other than air craft, is there ANYTHING that Jeeps
haven't been converted to?

Hi Hal. Welcome to the group!

Have you tried Walcks4wd.com? I don't know if they carry such a thing, but its worth a shot? I haven't seen too many parts manuals for the civi trucks, but maybe.....

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but hopefully one of the truck owners will chime in.

Good luck!
