They use a different outer bearing I think. The old ones use a tapered roller bearing and the flanged use a ball bearing and a strange seal. IHC uses the same setup on 1/2 ton trucks. So i don't know

Don't know about the 50, but the 53, 58, and 60 I have all have them at the top of the window. If you look at the frame , you should see the screw holes where they mount. DJ FL
