Re: [WT] CJ2A Replacement Body

John,

My tub was bare metal when I got it from him two years ago, so I had to prime it with two coats of primer, and one coat of OD green. All the major holes are there, like the gauge holes, pedal holes, etc, so don't worry too much about drilling. I have not had a problem with anything Markus has sent to me yet, or I certainly would not recomend him. And I am BY NO MEANS a real mechanic. This was my first attempt at anything like this, so trust me, if I can do it, anyone can. (-:

Good luck!

This is good and timely information as I too am looking for a jeep
tub (M38a1). After paying the high cost of body work on my 53 truck,
I've decided to replace the sheet metal on this one if it was
available.

This morning I talked with Marcus at Willys acres about the quality
of the MDJUAN product. He said that drilling was still necessary.
He also says that although the parts are primed he recommends that
they be beedblasted and reprimed with an epoxy primer.

After hearing comments on this subject I've decided to order from
them and keep my old tub for reference purposes until the project is
complete.

first. Most of the bodies come from the Phillipines, and sold by all
the venders. I bought a tub about two years ago now from
Willysacres.com. This was one of the MDJUAN.com bodies. It did have
all the holes drilled for the gauges, floor pedals, etc. The bodies
have come a long way from the early years when you would essentially
get a tub, that sort of looked like a conglomeration of every Willys
jeep from WW2 to 1953. I think with the growing popularity of these
old jeeps, MDJUAN has had to improve thier product to keep the buying
public happy. I was very happy with the tub I received.

have to change the body mounts on my CJ2A frame, but the holes in the
tub were all there.

computer, and found that Willysacres had the lowest price. That may
or may not be the case now, but I do suggest that you do some looking
first, as the price may vary greatly from one vender to another.
