Any DCC signal bus 30 or more feet long is likely to operate erratically if it doesn't have a snubber. YMMV, but good practice is to add the snubber. Don W

Allen, I should have done more testing. It wasn't the MTH. I have a 6 stall roundhouse. It's powered with a "vampire" terminal strip. I disconnected the power to the strip and the ACM started working.
