Walthers ACM
I have a Walthers Advanced Control Module (an Allen article) for the turn table. I can't make it work. Walthers can't either. The replacement ACM is the same. I have a Digitrax 210+. Does anyone have

Re: Resistor wheelsets on DC
DC block detectors operate on the same basic principle: detect current draw. How the DC and DCC systems do that is often quite different, but they'll both need resistor wheelers to detect cars in a

Re: Resistor wheelsets on DC
It shouldn't make any difference. The resistor wheelsets will be small a load, but have no more impact on your operations than they do on a DCC layout. Jerry Michels

Re: Resistor wheelsets on DC
Lee, To answer your question, resistor wheels sets will run on DC layouts without a problem. However, if your question is whether DCC block detectors will work on DC layouts, the answer is probably

Re: Resistor wheelsets on DC
Not sure what you expect. They will draw little current. Will not hurt the DC controller. DonV

Resistor wheelsets on DC
Group, Does anyone have experience running resistor wheelsets on a DC powered layout? I know they are fine on DCC but I¡¯m not sure of how they would work on DC layout. TIA. Lee

Re: balancing brightness of leds
Don V's BYW (BTW?) gives one of the reasons I put 1N4148 or 1N4150 signal diodes in series with the LEDs on my RR. Mine are multiplexed, so spend 7/8 or their time actively driven in the reverse

Re: balancing brightness of leds
Of course. Simply add yet another resistor in series with each green LED. BYW ¡ your simple circuit abuses the reverse voltage limit spec of each LED when it is supposedly off. Yes, the current is

Re: balancing brightness of leds
Lawrence, The dashed line box suggests the two LEDs are part of a single package. To reduce the green LED's brightness, add a resistor in series between the green LED's upper terminal and the upper

Re: balancing brightness of leds
Use two resistors per circuit, between the last junction point and the LED or between the LED and the R and N leads, then you can adjust the resistance separately for the red and green LEDs. Tim Rumph

Hi, I put a dwg named LEDs in photos. The GREEN led is much brighter than the RED led. Can this circuit be modified to reduce the GREEN led intensity? Thaqnks

Re: Wiring for DCC Update - Resistor Color Code and Dimming LEDs
Hi, I bought a substitution box and got it working.? Haven't used it in almost a decade. I tend to purchase my LEDs in large quantities (100 at a time) and have found that I can just use the same

Thank¡¯s everyone for helping me out in this situation. Now I can start adjusting leds on my signals and other devices , I have a better understanding of what¡¯s going on and not being in the dark.
