Shared Strippers and Crimpers?

Has the club, or anyone, pooled their money to buy a set of coax strippers and crimpers? I would like to buy into the pool to make up a couple cables. If there is no pool, does anyone care to create one with me?

I was trying to find a link to the set I have but can’t locate them. Did stroll across this set which looks pretty reasonable compared to most. I like the kind that you can put different dies in, and this has 5 sets it looks like.?

HKS Coax Ratchet Crimping Tool Set for Coaxial RG Cable RF Connector with 5 Changeable Dies

?

As for strippers, I’ve tried a few sets but seem to go back to the old pocket knife mostly.?

My searches brought up $200+ kits and my thinking was I would never make enough crimps to be worth it, but that over time the entire club would, and surely I am not the first guy to have the thought. In fact, my friends and I in the RC flying club had gone in on an expensive set of Anderson Power Pole crimpers that we rarely used. Oh well.

I like the different dies too but had added to today's HRO order, an hour before I saw your post. I still had the same thinking about how few connectors I'll ever crimp and that I have only RG-8X.? I'll add your link to my next Amazon order and will have a crimper for the bench/shack and one for the go bag. One can never have too many tools.

Thanks.

Amen to not having too many tools! That link from HRO looks like a good buy too. Several options. I’ve primarily crimped rg-58, 8x, rg8u, lmr400… that’s about it I guess. One of those usually fits my amateur needs. Some bigger stuff at work. I have a set of Anderson power pole crimpers somewhere…. If I can find where I laid them, you or anyone else are welcome to borrow them.

Also, glad to see you’re getting your settings figured out on your Yaesu!?
