What could happen if you plug the wrong ECU in? I purchased my 87 about a year ago. Early on, in out 2700 mile trip home, I bought an ECU as a spare, from a wrecker. I plugged it in, and the truck started. That is as far as I went (i woould have to check the models numbers ... I dont recall).? If ever stuck, and I used it in a pinch, could I do harm? Or is the only concern that it wont work "properly"??
