In my case it was a transistor pack going to the fuel solenoids causing one fuel solenoid to one cylinder to stay on all the time which flooded that cylinder and made my fuel tank empty real fast. I could still drive it but only at about 10-15 miles per hour.
I think I could have disconnected that cylinder and just tried to drive on 5 cylinders but at the time I didn't want to do that so I had to tow it home.
