I'm in New Orleans at a library that's about 20 miles away from the
city. It was a terrible windy trip - so windy that my arms were
tired
from struggling with the steering wheel! There HAS to be something I
can do to make the steering better. I'm used to the semi's, but the
gusts of wind are really scary sometimes. Maybe I need an alignment
or
can get some sort of stabilizer bar, or shocks, or SOMETHING. This
is
no fun to drive in the wind!!!!!!!!!!
At the conference, I had trouble parking the RV. No one wanted to
let
me park in their lot - even though it will fit in one parking space.
The Hilton parking lot (which was the hotel for the conference and
adjacent to the convention center) wanted to charge me $55.00 to park
for one day - yes you read it right.....DAY parking. They charged
cars $15.00/day. In addition, I finally found a lot to take my RV
and
was late for the presentation. I was the last of three to present so
it worked out OK. When I parked the RV there was a guy sleeping on
the ground up against the building where I parked. It took me an
hour
and a half to drive the 18 miles into the city because of the
traffic!
I'm sorry if anyone on this list is from New Orleans, but I find it
to
be a dangerous, dirty, depressing, and unfriendly city. I'll think
twice if I ever return here! Even the librarians were rude at the
library I'm at now! *sigh*
I'm filing this trip under "The Trip from you know where"!
