Far below expectations.
You should be able to make it work with MatLab but there is no direct support. On Fri, Jun 28, 2024 at 4:12?AM Pimpersivius via <Digiswiss=[email protected]> wrote:

In contrast to you, I am extremely grateful that a spectrum analyzer (SA) as affordable and efficient as the TinySA Ultra exists. As for computer software, I can't comment as I don't use it. The TinySA Ultra already has a large screen and suits my needs perfectly. I hope you're not comparing the lowly TinySA to a high priced SA, as that wouldn't be a fair comparison.

No, you have to go to the screenshot menuIt seems you misunderstand this software.? ?The control via the snapshot is indeed rudimentary - it directly controls the screen of the nano, but is done via polling and is not meant for normal use. To use the software as intended, first click the icon on the left with the four arrows, which copies the current nanovna settings to the software.? Then press the icon with the single arrow (play button) for a single sweep trace, or the one with circulating arrows for continuous traces.? This does not affect the screen of the nano itself, just the plots? configured on the software display.? Now you can change any of the control parameters on the left, and these changes will take effect next time you start the trace.? Also you can change the types of plots displayed and many plot parameters by right-clicking in the plot area.? This is really very powerful and useful software. Experiment with it, and you will find many useful features.? |
From?reading your post it seems it's the computer software that's letting you down NOT the hardware?? If so, the subject line sure is misleading - the subject line makes it sound as if it's the hardware.? Yet, later in your post you say the hardware is good.? Why not put "TinySA computer software" as the subject line as that seems to be the issue. I'm looking for a Linux version of software for the TinySA to use - maybe I just need to look more.?? 73 de Ken H<> K9FV -- 73 de Ken H> K9FV |
Hi pimpersivius...
I'll try to be polite. What software are you trying to use? What USB (2 or 3)? As? most people use the TinySA very easily and efficiently on a PC I find that most problems are between the Keyboard and the skills of the operator. Try another USB cable, another USB port? (and maybe (just very uncommon) your SA may be? faulty) There, no cussing... |
Hello, We can't do nothing? for the missing of skill.... Verry sorry for that. I never had any of? these described misfunctionalities....? Please investigateur elsewhere than TinySa Ultra itself... Regards. Le ven. 28 juin 2024, 13:12, Pimpersivius via <Digiswiss=[email protected]> a ¨¦crit?:

Hi.
I have the Tiny SA Ultra. It is no match for my Agilent, but it does tell me the same information. It isnt perfect or professional grade, but for the price, it is more than acceptable. I have the Tiny SA app v 1.1.20.1 running on widows 10 pro an have no issues. It works as describe in the guides. I also have QtTiny SA v0.10.6, and likwise no problems at all. I rather like this app over the other, I have used all the features and functions that I generally use, so far from everything. Sorry to hear of your perspective. |
You are free to buy a $$$$$ professional SA that suits you. Thank you for your feedback, NK On Fri, Jun 28, 2024 at 05:12 Pimpersivius via <Digiswiss=[email protected]> wrote:

greetings
I chose this device, not least because of the fact that the TinySA Ultra can also be connected to the computer. ? Well, as a standalone analyzer the device may certainly be convincing for the price, but when it comes to functionality, reliability and usability on the computer, I have to say the TinySA Ultra is a disappointment. ? The connection breaks down, it sometimes responds to clicks in the menu and sometimes it doesn't. To use the functions, you can't operate directly in the large main window with the good resolution. No, you have to go to the screenshot menu and try it there, but the resolution is terrible and the TinySA Ultra reacts unreliably to mouse clicks and always loses the connection again and you have to close the program completely, restart it and reconnect. ? It can't be my hardware, it's good enough. ? Is it just me or do others have these problems too? ? Is there any other software that can be used to operate the TinySA Ultra on the computer? ?
