Re: QtTinySA update to v1.0.2

?
The same thing happened to me. In /AppData/Local/QtTinySA I deleted the QtTSAPrefs.db file and in its place I copied the QtTSAPrefs.db that comes in the .zip |
Re: QtTinySA update to v1.0.2

I hope you don't give up on the windows version. I can't get 1.0.2 to start on Windows 11. I see that it did create the QtTSAprefs.db file in /AppData/Local/QtTinySA. But the command script ends with some kind of Error. The command window closes before I can read the error. Any suggestions?

Re: Pre-sale, tinySA ULTRA plus
Tecsun has some nifty tiny receivers that will double as a powered speaker and also record the audio. I have a Q3 that I purchased for just such tasks.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi, Some people use the "amplified speakers" marketed for use with computer sound systems. I use those the same way for my little QRP radios without speakers or in loud outdoor environments. Earphones or earbuds are also used by others. I hope this helps. 73, Bill ?KU8H On Mar 2, 2025, at 5:21?AM, zeljko adzic via groups.io <agamotori@...> wrote:

However, the 406 is incredibly sensitive, with an internal antenna (1 meter stylus) I listened to international radio Romania at 15370. On Wed, Feb 26, 2025, 7:51?AM §³§Ó§ñ§ä§à§ã§Ý§Ñ§Ó §®§Ñ§ç§Ñ§ß§î§Ü§à§Ó via <svyatoslavx=[email protected]> wrote:

Hey Ian,
?
Do you have a private message contact option, I've been using QtTinySA on a job its been just wonderful, I would love to thank you. |
Re: model Ultra calibration signal issues (and issues on the RF input)
You're right, Erik, that these artifacts are not necessarily an issue if it does not affect proper operation. Regarding the apparent output interference of the RF input: that's at least something that wonders me. Rob On Fri, 28 Feb 2025 16:59:22 +0100, Erik Kaashoek via groups.io <erik@...> wrote:

model Ultra calibration signal issues (and issues on the RF input)
Regarding the calibrator output, I have been aware of an artifact. Because I have been doing some measurements (related to the new Fault Finding page, I also decided to catch the artifact now): This is the calibrator at 30 MHz. Every approx. 250 or 400 ?s, the artifact appears. The calibrator output also has a steep negative slope but a rounded positive slope (HW 0.4.5.1): The level is okay, fft midscale dBm reference = -55 dBm, and 10 dBm/div. Hence level is -35 dBm - okay. === RF input === The RF input also has artifacts: It has been verified that the generator is switched off, but it seems that the RF spectrum analysis operation is not affected. Disclaimer: I'm talking about my defective tinySA with defect LNA and quite sure also defective input switch, but it is hard to believe that this sort of artifact would occur just because of this. Entering "diode" in the search box at the top of this page produces a message result that includes the following front-end components, which are commonly prone to failure:
?
CG0402MLU-05G, ? ESD Protection Diode
AS179-92LF,? ? RF Switch BGA2817,? ? LNA PE4312C-Z,? ?Attenuator? ?

Re: Manual fault finding
Yesterday I have executed the steps on this page. The hint regarding the 0 Hz vertical line is especially helpful. In my case, this vertical line is present, and as such, no complex repair is to being expected. The attenuation function is okay. LNA is clearly defect and because the test signal shows only -55 dBm on the spectrum, the switch should be defective, too. Thus I'd have to replace the switch and the LNA, not the attenuator. Section Fault finding with oscilloscope: I don't find L1 and L7 (HW 0.4.5.1). BTW: I now believe what "LOW OUTPUT" on top of the screen means: the bottom connector, not something like low level voltage. In general I se need to implement any changes to this page. Re: Self-test error and does not continue
In my case, D4 seems not to conduct current at all. My diode test (DMM, applies 2.5V open voltage) does not show any diode voltage, regardless the direction. Perhaps, it's a bidirectional zener device with over 2.5V threshold in both directions. The diode however is soldered, but it is a bit side tilted. What type should I use as replacement - if the diode is defect (abnormally not as short). Rob On Thu, 27 Feb 2025 19:52:50 +0100, Alejandro Zaragoza via groups.io <pypy1am@...> wrote:

Re: Problem with calibration and self test ZS-407
Hm, you're having a newer version of TinyUltra than I have. Yours has a 7.3 GHz Ultra range while mine has 5.3 GHz... (HW v. 0.4.5.1.1 instead of 0.5.4.). Rob On Wed, 26 Feb 2025 08:15:39 +0100, Bat Vankata via groups.io <cdsivanjordanov@...> wrote:

Re: hardware defect
Sorry for the late response. I have an original product - bought nov. 2023 at ELESHOP, so counterfeit is not an issue. Thus I got aware of being able to send it in for repair, but - today - after operating the "Fault Finder for the Tiny..." instructions, I'd order the parts as indicated, since the defects are probably due to own handling errors. Where can I get the TinySA ULTRA schematic? The tinySA Ultra is not an open-source design so its full schematic has not been released to the public.? I believe you have to remove U22 from the circuit instead of just jumping it to verify operation:

Unsolder U22, install a jumper, and without turning on LNA, everything should work. ?
If so, then change the switch.

Re: Self-test error and does not continue
One more detail, I made a jump on U22, it didn't work, but I made some measurements on the passive components around U22 and verified that Diode D4 is showing a short, I'll try to lift it to confirm. The other end of D4 doesn't go to ground. I tried to find the TinySA ULTRA electrical schematic, without success. Where can I get the TinySA ULTRA schematic? |
