Re: Request for help: can you measure and report the MCU frequency?

I see the peak at 191.571MHz, so a MCU clock frequency of 47.89275MHz

The MCU clock frequency can be measured using these settings.
Reset tinySA
span=4MHz
freq=192MHz
display/calc/aver 16
The small signal somewhere below -90dBm is the 4th harmonic of the MCU clock.
Please post the frequency of this signal divided by 4.

If you do not see an MCU clock spur you can try the 2nd harmonic (96MHz) or 3rd harmonic (144MHz)

Re: Request for help: can you measure and report the MCU frequency?

Erik,
I get 192.159/4=48.03975MHz
or
144.117/3 = 48.0390MHz

Re: Delay due to damage

Hi Erik,

Apart from dexuan510 I have noted the following all selling the tinySA on Amazon UK.
Riiai_EU, Elikliv_EU, ytrew.
All have different trade numbers and VAT numbers apart from ytrew which does not show a VAT number.
There is a great similarity between each seller, with identical pictures of the tinySA, including one showing a PC screen background behind the tinySA which I do not recognise. It is nothing like my nanoVNA saver screen.
There are, of course, a number of sellers on EBAY.
All the Amazon sellers are listing a time delivery from ordering to arrival of about 12 days maximum. All the above are selling to the UK with prices shown in GBP.

Thanks Erik for all you have done in design and development of the tinySA

Re: Delay due to damage

Hello All,

I am trying not to bore you but I wish to send details of my order of a tinySA from dexuan510 via Amazon UK. One other forum member, as well as myself, had received?the same message, that the instrument had been returned due to damage.

After an extended tracking time period ended, I contacted Amazon UK to ask for a return of money spent (48 GBP total).
Less than 24 hours later the tinySA arrived safely and undamaged. It has the tinySA trademark on both the instrument and the case and all accessories are present
I have contacted Amazon to cancel my refund.

My conclusion is that dexuan510 is a genuine supplier to UK hams although amazon UK is not listed on Eriks list of recommended suppliers. The total time from order to arrival was 14 days.

Now to switch on the tinySA and join the happy band of tinySA users.

Keep safe
Phil G3SES??

I ordered my first tinysa via?Amazon UK on Sept 12th.

The seller is Dexuan.

Today I received an email from Dexuan to say that the case was damaged and they have given me two options.
Cancel my order.
Agree to wait longer for a replacement.
I agreed to the latter but do not know the? delivery date as yet.

Let us hope this situation is unusual and packaging will be satisfactory in future.

Re: Local/PC display sync

Most settings on CPU sended by console, apply and update on display after send to tinySA

Re: Local/PC display sync

OK, interesting, many thanks. I did notice at one point that the screens appeared to be synchoronised after a change but it seems it was just a one-off!

Re: Local/PC display sync

There are basically two levels on which you can interface between PC and tinySA. High level where the intelligence is in the tinySA and you give "user level"? commands, or you use a low level interface which enables skipping overhead and thus allows faster scanning. Some PC SW communicates on high level, other on low level.
This low level communication may be confusing and I guess that is why Gabriel decided to disable the nanoVNA-V2 screen once connected to the PC.
I have no good solution yet,

Local/PC display sync

Just successfully updated to 99 and the new NanoVNA SW.

I may have missed something somewhere but is the display on the device intended to update along with the PC software display when you change parameters or not?

Using my VNA and the nanosaver SW I get correlation between both VNA and PC displays but not when using the SA in the same way (or at least not necessarily).

This is nothing to do with 99 because the "issue" has always been there from the beginning. It's not necessarily a big deal but just a bit confusing. Maybe I should have set something up?

Hi Erik

Will do if you send the firmware to kurt@...

Kind regards

I'm implementing user settable frequency for the AM and FM modulation but I have no means to measure the frequency of modulation.
Is there someone willing to receive a test firmware and measure the modulation frequency for AM and FM for at least two modulation frequencies?

Implemented in V1.0-99

Agreed, it's a sensible action, I would support it.

New FW release: Waterfall repairs and Set Marker Frequency

New FW release
Version V1.0-99

Changes:?
- Waterfall now also works for 101 and 51 sweep points
- Bottom level indicator removed in waterfall mode
- Menu remainder cleared in waterfall mode
- New MARKER/MARKER SEARCH/ENTER FREQUENCY to set active marker to specific frequency

As I am still traveling only limited testing done.

Good suggestion

How to disable marker tracking by default.

Some people do not like the automatic tracking of the first marker.

You can change this default behavior by:
Reset the tinySA
MARKER/MODIFY MARKER/MARKER 1/ disable tracking
PRESET/STORE/STORE AS STARTUP

Now whenever you reset the tinySA or do a LOAD STARTUP the first marker will no longer be a tracking marker

With the latest firmware you can disable the tracking of the active marker by pushing the jog switch to left or right without menu active

Re: Feature request: Automatic disabling of marker tracking attribute after dragging marker

I also prefer to disable the marker tracking feature as default. Makes me nervous ;-)

I also miss a possibility to manually set the marker frequency. (at least I didn't find it yet and it is also not in your Youtube "Marker Video")

Erik,
? May I suggest that you spend some time removing NanoVNA-App from future tinySA-App releases so that Cathy's beta application is not released in the wild?? I know that's not expedient, but you don't want to endanger the goodwill you and Cathy have? built.
