Transparent layer 2
Hi, Venus I heard a lot about the Paint Shop Pro, and I am considering buying it, but for now I just have the plain Paint on my windows XP. I read your message about the clipart and I tried the transparent layer on Paint, but after I draw my design I cannot select the original design to delete it and have only the one I drew. I tried the Help menu but it does not really give any clear instructions. Are you familiar with this plain Paint program in XP? Could you please help me? Thanks so much

Butterfly ZIP 2
Hi I am unable to download the butterfly. The page takes ages to try and open, then I get a page not found. I can get to the Groups page, click on files, then butterfly .zip but nothing after that. I have ADSL internet yet it appears to be really slow. Think everyone is trying to download at the same time, so maybe this is why its not working for me. I know this happens sometimes with my site when I do a posting of a free design. Within like an hr , over a 1000 people can be trying to download. I will be patient and try later tonite. OT SUBJECT 4
Okay, already, I am staying, I'm staying, no little bit of nagging is getting off this list. I like it here, most people are just wonderful, anyone acting holier than me, well, maybe they are. I've only been on this list for one week tomorrow and I've met a lot of great people, their light shines through. I am thankful for this group of people, I am a stay-at-home person, not by choice, but by chance, hubby is disabled and needs 24/7 care. And I am it. The computer is my outside line and I love it. free butterfly
I had success with the free design download first try. Of course, I think it helps that it is 11:30 pm here on the west coast (USA) and much of the country is sound asleep. It's a beautiful butterfly. I can't wait to try it out. If you don't get it first time, try at another time. The net does get bogged down in traffic, just like the freeways. Thank you, Kathy, Seattle

Thank you note 3
Just a little thank you and your daughter for the beautiful butterfly. It's very kind of you to share with those of us who do not know how to digitize (and in my case, have no desire to learn, as it just appears to be way over my head)! I've enjoyed your list, keep up the good work. You have a way with words which just shows how caring and thoughtful of others you are. It's nice to be just a little part of this group. Thanks to all for, well, everything. Rosie S.

Thank you
Hi there, I just wanted to thank you for the gorgeous lace butterfly. It is the prettiest that I have seen. Also for your patience in the recent problems. I have found that people who are so very knowledgeable about things, such as computers, are sometimes blind to the struggles of others who are not and are trying very hard to learn. A lot of people who are on the net now, are new to it and taken there by their need to learn it to deal with the software for the new wonderful embroidery machines that we have now. I am 67 years old and learning totally on my own, and it is really sometimes like a foreign language. I joined the group, not really understanding all the aspects of it, and was totally confused when all the mail started coming in. I understand now, and am enjoying the group, and want too badly to learn to be put off by someone's lack of understanding. Hopefully those who do not understand where we are in our experiences will realize that if thrust into a totally new environment, they too, might seem to be " not the brightest bulb on the tree" : ), and will let those who do understand what they are going through handle their job, at which they are so very good. In "helping" it would be good for them to remember, like the doctors creed, "First do no harm". Thank you for all you do. Joy

books on Embroidery
I got up this AM to check E Mail before leaving for work. Whow, you guys have been busy since 8 PM last night. 5 Digests to read. Anyway I put my Embroidery, Sewing literature in the Little Girls Room and do some of my best reading there (LOL). I was having difficulty getting the bottom hoop to stay in place while hooping and finally came up with a solution. I took a heavy piece of cardboard and stapled a piece of the waffle type drawer liner to it. I had some of the heavier type and it works great. Now I just lay the bottom hoop on it with the bottom edge extended and lay the stabilizer and fabric over it and press down. The bottom hoop stays in place instead of scooting all over the place. If this doesn't make sense let me know and I will take a photo and put in in the files. back ups 2
Yikes, I'd hate to lose everything on my computer. I had a crappy old desk top before I bought my lap top last fall. I was always afraid that thing would crash. My husband backs up my computer regularly. Ok, evidence of how paranoid I am about losing my data; we have a fire proof safe locate in another building that we put back up cd's in. We keep the last 2 back up discs, the new one and the one the time before. Sometimes there are more than 2, since my husband and I aren't good at throwing things out! LOL The point is my paranoia might help if you back up to a cd every so often and keep it off premiss. If you ever lose your data on your computer, you may just lose a months worth rather than years. I hope no one ever experiences a fire, flood, tornados, or thiefs, having a back up someplace else makes me feel like I wont lose it all. Sincerely, Adrienne

to Hilbilie & Peggy and all
Hi Hilbilie and Peggy and all, It is very interesting to read this topic. Its sort of "funny" but I'm toward the other end of the spectrum. I have severe RA and OA and am mainly in a wheelchair. My hands are not as usable, and they frequently shake a lot. I DO sew - just not nearly as much as my dream projects require! The sewing I do is for my dear grandchildren. My dh is a "caretaker" too, but I try to make it easier for him. I know it is a lot of extra work - not just taking care of my needs, but doing the things I used to do and can't do any more. I have so much compassion and admiration for those of you who have this responsibility. Please do take time for yourself now and then. It really is necessary. I'm trying to get my dh to go on a day hike. He rarely does something just for himself. Anyway, thanks from someone who knows some of how hard it . Butterfly design
I have been to the site to download the free butterfly design and got the message" forbidden" message 403. I then tried all the other files in the list and they all told me the same thing, but I downloaded the lace coaster the other day. Is there a problem with this site? That you for your assistance Patricia
