I am having a major brian fart and can not remember to use on it to get it out. Anyone please, suggestions to get this out. Pam |
My Grandma always kept a little peroxide handy when she quilted for that reason. Always test it on colors but on white and off-white it works great. A little goes a long way. I use a cotton ball or a q-tip to apply it.

Gosh Beth - Can you bleed a little bit on a piece of scrap so you will
have a piece to test the blood remmoving remedies, in case one doesn't work and you have to try several. LOL I always was told that the spit of the person whose blood it is will remove it. I am thinking maybe the Mr Clean Magic Eraser does get out blood. (am searching for the pkg. but can't find it) When I found Sharpie marks on a satin pillowcase I was embroidering on I got that out with Mr. Clean ME but also had to use one of the bleach pens (Clorox I think) but It all came out. Good Luck! One piece of advice I was given for removing blood is to use some of your spit as apparently it has something to do with your DNA it does work as long as it is the same blood as the spit Judi ---- Original Message ----

Pam, If it is your own blood you can use your own spit to get it off. That

I have gotten blood on the dolls I make and just about everything else
involving hand sewing. I've always gotten it out by rubbing the spot with an ice cube. I have a great fear of bleach and/or chemicals anywhere near my sewing project. The ice always works; however, I always do it immediately, so the blood spot is brand new; I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Hydrogen peroxide will remove blood from fabric (just make sure the peroxide is safe on the fabric by testing a spot). Have gotten blood out of just about any cotton fabric using peroxide. May take a little soaking, but it does work.

Pam, take it from an ICU nurse, a little peroxide will remove the blood with ease. I have never seen it alter any colors either so good luck!

wrote: Pam, I don't know if this will help you on the quilt but this is a really good thing to know.. Have you ever heard of Goop (brand) handcleaner? It is for sale on the net and various stores. If you have ink pen break in washer, blood, grass stains or any really difficult stain to get out of clothing etc you can brush goop on with a soft brush or your finger tips and let stand from a few hrs to overnight depending upon the stain and then wash as normal and it comes right out usually the first time.. I had a white sweater I loved have a pen break in the washer and it took 3-4x of applying and rewashing (do not dry between) and it ended up like new. The best thing about it is it doesn't stress the fabric as it is lanolin based..So you are going to get holes as from bleach etc. I have taken out motorcycle grease from a jean jacket you would have been sure was ruined! And of course my white sweater. Even fatty grease spots on a t-shirt that would normally ruin it come out well. Blood, grass stains all out with one or two launderings with the goop sitting on it overnight at the most. Hope this helps everyone! :) Jill
